Kasabay ng pagbabago ng mga lumang jeepney at tricycle tungo sa modernong transportasyon ay ang panawagan na isabay din ang pagbabago ng mga tsuper. Habang patuloy ang mga hakbang patungo sa mas episyenteng pampublikong transportasyon, mahalaga ring itaas ang antas ng tamang pag-uugali at disiplina sa kalsada. Hindi lamang ang mga sasakyan ang dapat pagtuunan ng pansin, kundi pati na rin ang mga drayber na siyang nagpapatakbo ng mga ito.

Ang Makabagong Drayber: Hindi Lang Sa Makina, Kundi Sa Ugali

Madalas tayong makakita ng mga pampublikong sasakyan na tila laging nagmamadali, nakikipaggitgitan sa ibang sasakyan, at kadalasa'y hindi nagbibigay-daan sa mga pedestrian. Ito ay isang karaniwang senaryo sa mga pangunahing lansangan sa Pilipinas—isang problema ng trapiko na hindi lamang nakasalalay sa bilang ng mga sasakyan, kundi sa pag-uugali ng mga drayber sa kalsada.

Ang modernong drayber ay dapat hindi lamang sanay magmaneho ng bagong teknolohiya, kundi handa ring yakapin ang wastong pag-uugali sa kalsada. Dapat chill lang sa kalsada—hindi dapat laging naghahabol ng oras at hindi rin dapat nagiging sanhi ng gulo at peligro sa mga kapwa motorista at pedestrian.

Upang maisakatuparan ang tunay na modernisasyon ng transportasyon, lahat ng drayber—bago man o datihan—ay dapat sumailalim sa masinsinang pagsasanay sa tamang asal sa kalsada o driving ethics. Kasama rito ang mga sumusunod na aspeto:

Paggalang sa mga pedestrian: Laging unahin ang kaligtasan ng mga taong tumatawid sa pedestrian lane. Sa kasalukuyan, maraming tsuper ang hindi nagbibigay-daan sa mga pedestrian, isang bagay na dapat baguhin upang mapanatili ang kaayusan at kaligtasan sa kalsada.


Pagiging responsable sa pagpapatakbo: Ang pagiging laging nagmamadali sa kalye ay isa sa mga sanhi ng aksidente. Mahalaga ang pagpapalaganap ng kaalaman ukol sa responsableng pagmamaneho, kabilang na ang pagsunod sa itinakdang bilis ng pagpapatakbo.


Pagtuturo ng tamang disiplina: Dapat matutunan ng mga drayber na magbigay-daan at igalang ang espasyo ng iba pang mga motorista, lalo na sa mga lugar kung saan madalas magkaruon ng heavy traffic. Ang pagtuturo ng “right of way” at pag-iwas sa gitgitan ay makakatulong upang magkaroon ng mas maayos na daloy ng trapiko.


Kalma at pasensyoso sa kalsada: Sa mga lugar na madalas na ma-traffic, mahalaga ang pagiging kalmado at pasensyoso. Hindi kailangang makipag-agawan ng espasyo, dahil ang bawat motorista ay pare-parehong may layuning makarating sa kanilang destinasyon.

Total Modernization: Hindi Lang Sa Sasakyan, Kundi Sa Tsuper

Isa sa mga pangunahing layunin ng gobyerno ang total modernization ng public transportation, lalo na sa jeepney at tricycle. Kasama sa planong ito ang pagpapalit ng mga lumang sasakyan na hindi na ligtas at hindi naaayon sa kalikasan. Ngunit, hindi magiging kumpleto ang modernisasyon kung hindi rin mababago ang asal ng mga nagmamaneho ng mga sasakyang ito.

Ang mga jeepney, tricycle, at iba pang pampublikong sasakyan na hindi na akma sa kalsada ay dapat nang alisin o baguhin upang maging mas ligtas, episyente, at environment-friendly. Ngunit kasabay ng pagbabagong ito ay dapat ding pagtuunan ng pansin ang kalagayan ng mga tsuper—sila ang pinakaimportanteng aspeto ng anumang uri ng transportasyon.
