IATF is not a good model for Covid pandemic response

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

The national government extends Alert Level 4 in Metro Manila until Oct 15 but now allows gyms, adds allowed capacities for restaurants and personal care services.

- NCR will remain under Alert Level 4 until 15 October 2021 (with relaxation on indoor dining, personal care, gym, religious worship or mass - from 20% subject up to 10% increase if they have safety seal)

- Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal will still be under MECQ;

-Batangas will be under GCQ with HR

- Indoor sports courts or venues, fitness studios, spas or other indoor leisure centers or facilities, and swimming pools must remain closed. All contact sports are likewise prohibited except for those held under a bubble-type setup catering to the IATF's guidelines and approved by the concerned LGU.

It seemed like moving towards standardised alert levels was a step in the right direction (at least to be more organised). Then IATF immediately undermines itself by again changing their own rules. Baka next week may alert level 3.5 na.

Reason why IATF is not a good model for Covid pandemic response.

It’s not for consensus building.

Accountability is key.

DOH and medical opinion leaders should decide based on a playbook :

Test. Trace. Vaccinate.

LGU leaders should execute the plan of action.

India and Indonesia , countries considered epicenters of Delta variant - now with flattened curves !

How  : they don’t have IATF! Rather, they flattened the curves because they don’t have Duterte as President.

IATF should be abolished. It has become inutile, waste of tax money.. The LGUs exhibited a good grasp of this pandemic, knows the need of their respective constituents and responded accordingly..

The IATF are merely bunch of no good men who keeps patting themselves on the back inspite of their failures..

Zero care for the people... Experts my ass...

It will be better if we let the LGUs form their own separate pandemic task force that would report to their regional command center. The national government should just provide appropriate funding and periodic monitoring reports from LGUs, since each region is in different situations.

Sa umpisa pa lang ay walang silbi ang IATF sapagkat ang mga miyembro niyan ay hindi naman mga doctor or medical/health experts kaya hindi nakapagtataka na palpak ang covid response.

In the absence of an umbrella agency like IATF, it was their Ministry of Health that leads the COVID playbook. In the Philippines, we've wutnessed that we can't rely on our Department of Health with Duque leading it.

The Philippines IATF & DOH have roughened the curve....

They have failed to effectively coordinate & manage the national response to #COVID19.  We need more qualified, credible & independent people without their own agendas.

How about "let medical  experts and frontliners take over"? That way we will increase job for the thousands of nurses, and with all of our knowledge combined, we will provide sensible and effective pandemic control response

Execute the playbook with excellence :

Test. Trace. Vaccinate.

Philippines = 15,000 cases

Covid restriction policies are contradictory in itself.

Indecisive and flip flopping of policies.

🇵🇭🏳️‍🌈 Raise our Philippine & LGBTQ Flag in Israel and around the Universe, Bea! Laban!

Mabuhay ang Bahaghari! 🏳️‍🌈

I hope we all scrutinize our political candidates the same way we do with Ms. Universe Philippines contestants.

We set our standards so high on this pageant and yet we always fail or choose to ignore to call out the inadequacies of this incompetent and arrogant government.

The people should scrutinize politicians the same way they scrutinize beauty pageant candidates. If our standards in choosing a 1 year representative in a beauty pageant is high, then that standard should be higher in voting for a leader that will be leading the country for 6 years.

'Push lang nang push, mga besh!'

Vice President Leni Robredo also tells the country as she asks us to continue doing small but concrete steps to bring back the decency, real progress and glory of the Philippines.

Please register to vote and use your small voice for the upcoming 2022 PH elections.

Baro't Saya Tuwa at Ligaya Art Exhibit Set to Open on Oct. 9

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

SM Megamall proudly presents the first solo art exhibit of noted fashion designer EDGAR SAN DIEGO titled ‘BARO’T SAYA TUWA AT LIGAYA’ from October 9 - 15, 2021
Ground Level, Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

The theme of the exhibit is a ‘Tribute of Joy to the Filipina and her Traditional Dress amidst the Pandemic.’

Edgar’s love for the beautiful Filipina, traditions, costumes and production design is evident on his paintings, keeping in mind that the colors are bright and the subjects are happy in creating positive vibes which we need most in this pandemic. He chose to deal with beautiful characters in their colorful costumes and nostalgic scenarios.

Why this crossover from fashion design to visual arts ?

“I turned 60 last March 13, 2020. And then after 2 days, the lockdown was imposed. I thought that it was only going to last for a month or two. So to keep me away from boredom, I cleaned the house, reorganized my cabinets and do things that I neglected when I was busy with my dress shop. However, when I ran out of things to fix, I decided to pick up my brushes and called my canvas supplier. Luckily, she was open all the time to accept my orders. What I did was to order an extra 4 to 6 canvases which eventually gave me no excuse to stop.”

“I shared posted some of my early works on Facebook while daughter Abby posted them on her Instagram account. The favorable remarks and thousands of likes were heartwarming and encouraged me to create more. The choices for the artworks included in this exhibit is also based on how much people reacted to them.”

Just like in fashion, Edgar always take inspiration from the classic masters like Christian Dior, Balenciaga, YSL, Inno Sotto and Joe Salazar. In the visual arts,
he admires Gustav Klimt, Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Diego Rivera, Claude Monet, Fernando Amorsolo, and Carlos Botong Francisco.

For his women of style and substance, Edgar’s inspiration comes from Frida Kahlo, Tamara de Lempicka, Betsty Westerndorp, among others.

Before Edgar San Diego became a fashion designer, he used to hand-paint on formal clothes for established designers during his UST Fine Arts days. He was also a display-window artist at the Plaza Fashion Mart where he had a chance to meet fashion directors, models and more designers whom he we will eventually work with after college.

In 1981, he was invited and became the youngest pioneer of the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines where he eventually served as president for 4 terms.

Edgar’s citations and awards includes:
“Haute Couture Designer of the Year” in the Manila Fashion Designers Awards in 1989.

“Grand Prix Best Costume Award” in Carnival in Rio in Manila, which brought him to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 1990
5 time winner in the Annual Flores de Mayo at The Manila Hotel.

Philippine representative to the 1989 Asean Fashion Connections in Singapore

Awarded as one of the Outstanding Alumni of UST College of Fine Arts and
Don Bosco Technical Institue

As a costume designer, Edgar’s credits include Repertory Philippines’ “The Wizard of Oz”, “The Man of La Mancha”, “M Butterfly”, “Aladdin”, “The Sound of Music”, etc. ;Trumpets’ “The Lion , the Witch and the Wardrobe” , and “Little Mermaid” and New Port theater’s “ Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”.

He also made cinematic costumes for Star Cinema’s “ Sarah ang Munting Princesa” and “Ceddie”.

Edgar has also successfully promoted fashion and culture through fashion shows with Filipino communities in New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, Atlanta, Missouri, Chicago, Guam, Honolulu, and London.

His solo gala fashion shows were also presented in Manila, Honolulu, Jakarta an Melbourne
