Wazzup Pilipinas!?

SM Megamall proudly presents the first solo art exhibit of noted fashion designer EDGAR SAN DIEGO titled ‘BARO’T SAYA TUWA AT LIGAYA’ from October 9 - 15, 2021
Ground Level, Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

The theme of the exhibit is a ‘Tribute of Joy to the Filipina and her Traditional Dress amidst the Pandemic.’

Edgar’s love for the beautiful Filipina, traditions, costumes and production design is evident on his paintings, keeping in mind that the colors are bright and the subjects are happy in creating positive vibes which we need most in this pandemic. He chose to deal with beautiful characters in their colorful costumes and nostalgic scenarios.

Why this crossover from fashion design to visual arts ?

“I turned 60 last March 13, 2020. And then after 2 days, the lockdown was imposed. I thought that it was only going to last for a month or two. So to keep me away from boredom, I cleaned the house, reorganized my cabinets and do things that I neglected when I was busy with my dress shop. However, when I ran out of things to fix, I decided to pick up my brushes and called my canvas supplier. Luckily, she was open all the time to accept my orders. What I did was to order an extra 4 to 6 canvases which eventually gave me no excuse to stop.”

“I shared posted some of my early works on Facebook while daughter Abby posted them on her Instagram account. The favorable remarks and thousands of likes were heartwarming and encouraged me to create more. The choices for the artworks included in this exhibit is also based on how much people reacted to them.”

Just like in fashion, Edgar always take inspiration from the classic masters like Christian Dior, Balenciaga, YSL, Inno Sotto and Joe Salazar. In the visual arts,
he admires Gustav Klimt, Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Diego Rivera, Claude Monet, Fernando Amorsolo, and Carlos Botong Francisco.

For his women of style and substance, Edgar’s inspiration comes from Frida Kahlo, Tamara de Lempicka, Betsty Westerndorp, among others.

Before Edgar San Diego became a fashion designer, he used to hand-paint on formal clothes for established designers during his UST Fine Arts days. He was also a display-window artist at the Plaza Fashion Mart where he had a chance to meet fashion directors, models and more designers whom he we will eventually work with after college.

In 1981, he was invited and became the youngest pioneer of the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines where he eventually served as president for 4 terms.

Edgar’s citations and awards includes:
“Haute Couture Designer of the Year” in the Manila Fashion Designers Awards in 1989.

“Grand Prix Best Costume Award” in Carnival in Rio in Manila, which brought him to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 1990
5 time winner in the Annual Flores de Mayo at The Manila Hotel.

Philippine representative to the 1989 Asean Fashion Connections in Singapore

Awarded as one of the Outstanding Alumni of UST College of Fine Arts and
Don Bosco Technical Institue

1SAMBAYAN officially announces VP Leni Robredo as their choice for Presidential candidate

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

We're happy to hear that 1Sambayan has decided to endorse VP Leni Robredo as its presidential candidate. I fervently hope, along with countless Filipinos, that she answers our calls and lead the charge for change.

The prospect of a genuine, just and lasting peace and progress, minus all that foreign loan, is much alive with Leni Robredo as President.

Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo

17th President of the Republic of the Philippines

Dito tayo sa disente at tunay na kakampi ng mga Pilipino, Huwag doon sa bastos at kasabwat ng mga dayuhang Instik!

MANIFESTING AND CLAIMING IT ALREADY!

I am no political analyst, but am sticking with #LetLeniLead no matter what the survey says or the winnability aspect. She is the only candidate we can put our trust to bring about real change. Walang ngawa puro gawa.

At the end of the day voting for Leni means putting up Hope for our beloved country. Manalo o matalo basta alam ko si Leni ang iboboto ko.

I will vote not based on who is winnable, popular, their promises, endorsers, or pro-poor, but whoever I believe is true, capable and morally sound for our country. Leni will win - based on track record and honesty alone ay lamang na siya. We are in a deep shit right now, and I'm proud to say i didn't vote for him because I prefer to.choose the decent and capable, not the "bastos" and "puro yabang at tapang pero nangungunang kasabwat pala ng mga sindikato."

Facts and not fictional.

Her track record speaks for itself.

Despite the small budget given to the OVP, Leni Robredo showed how capable she is as a leader. Her track record is an obvious evidence. She's the leader the Filipinos deserve!

Let's go VP Leni Robredo. We're here to support you. Yung 1% to Vice President kinaya natin nung 2016. Siguro yung 8% to President mas doable noh?

Parang noong Sa VP Lang iyan, tataas siya as the election comes nearer. Para Sa akin mas maganda marami silang mag laban para sabog boto nila as long as solid tayo kay VP.

Remember na 14 million voted for her last 2016, solid supporters yan, at siguradong walang nabawas, at mas marami ang nadagdag dahil sa magandang pamamalakad sa OVP.

https://www.facebook.com/273998629382347/posts/4333694086746094/

Kapag walang Leni sa pagka presidente ay yong rabbit ko na lang patatakbuhin ko at mas mapagkakatiwalaan ko yong rabbit ko kaysa sino mang tatakbo.

Let Leni Lead us back to decency and real prosperity!

Money Making Scams You Need To Avoid

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

You're tired of your 9-5 and just want to make some extra cash. You've tried the usual with no luck - flipping items on eBay, delivering pizzas, or doing surveys online. Then you found an ad for a "sure thing" that promised $1,000/day! Yeah right…

Your intuition was right on this one because there is no such thing as easy money. The scammers are out in full force these days trying to get people like you to sign up for their shady services and give them your hard-earned cash. Don't be fooled by these scams! In this article, we'll cover some of the most common ones so you can avoid getting duped out of your money while looking for more reputable ways to earn.

1. The Nigerian Prince Scam

There are many different types of online scams that try to take advantage of people. The Nigerian Prince Scam is one such form, where a person will receive an email offering money in exchange for providing personal information or even making donations. This sounds too good to be true but unfortunately, these emails can lead you into all sorts of trouble.

The Nigerian Prince Scam is a very common email that promises the recipient an incredible sum of money and lures them into providing personal details or funds. Some people who fall victim to this scam usually wound up trusting their attacker completely because they were so convincing in how much wealth they spoke about having for you if only you sent some initial investment first.

2. The Lottery Scam

The lottery scam is a grisly type of fraud that starts with an unexpected email notification, phone call, or mailing (sometimes including a large check) explaining how you have "won" the big prize. The target should keep this secret as there's been some kind of mix-up in your name and number so they can contact their claims agent who will ask for processing fees or transfer charges before giving out any winnings.

Real lotteries require you to provide proof such as a ticket with the unique code or number printed on it. Keep this in mind when someone approaches asking about your luck at winning the big prize jackpot because they're almost certainly trying to scam you.

The best way to avoid a lottery scam is by asking yourself if you've ever joined any lotteries. Be cautious most especially when someone asks for money in order to claim your prize, that's a clear sign they're probably trying to scam you of your hard-earned cash!

3. The Paypal Scam

PayPal is a great way to send money, but not if you get scammed. Scam artists are always looking for new ways in which they can steal your personal information and then use it against you.

What many people don't know is that Paypal scams may often look like an official email. They are written and designed so it will seem like it’s your legitimate correspondence from the sender - when really they're only after one thing: information about you!

The criminals will use the same branding, colors, and wording that is found on the official PayPal website in an attempt to make it seem as if you are actually looking at a legitimate site. They may even replicate some aspects so well-replicated that they could fool users into thinking this was what everyone sees every day when using Paypal.

4. Pyramid/Ponzi schemes

A Ponzi scheme is an illegal, predatory investment operation that uses recent investor funds to pay off older ones. The fraudsters lure potential victims by promising high returns for minimal investments; however, these payments are actually coming from other participants in the scam who have been duped into thinking they’re getting their money's worth out of legitimate business activity like product sales or successful bets on sports games.

The name comes from Charles Ponzi who started fraudulently promising returns for their clients with other people's money he collected through early investors participating in what they thought was going towards some sort of financial success story but actually had only deducted costs like travel expenses or office rent until eventually, none remained after all payments were made back plus interest owed onto those initial depositors.

The world of cryptocurrency is a hotbed for scammers and con artists. There are many online platforms that offer high returns on investment with no risk, but these schemes can easily turn into Ponzis if you don't verify your information before investing - meaning they take more than just the money from subsequent investors to pay first claimants like yourself back at some point during their scheme's lifespan.

5. Online Gaming scams

Online games can be a great way to meet new people and have fun, but as the number of online gamers continues to rise there's also risk involved in playing. With these risks come potential scams that may target you or your family members- especially young children who may not know any better about staying safe while gaming.

Online Gaming Scams are everywhere! I can't even count the amount that I've seen or experienced in my time online. You have to be careful and smart about who you trust if an offer seems too good, promising quick easy money without any work required on your behalf or anything else really worth having for free; because it just might not be what they say is happening at all.

Online gaming is one of the biggest industries in today's modern society but it has also been targeted by scammers who use fake online assets to lure people into their schemes. These scams can come from anything, like dialing or fraudulent betting sites where users lose money that was supposed to go towards acquiring more legitimate game-playing credits for purchase within an app store.

To avoid being scammed online while gaming, do your research and vet the sites you're visiting to make sure that they are trustworthy. To help with this process for those who don't know how or have time on their hands check out sites like Empire27 forum where there will be resources available that can lead them down a safe path towards playing games safely without getting ripped off.

We hope this article has helped you avoid some of the most common money-making scams. If you're still not sure if something is a scam, do your best to research it before giving any personal information or signing up for anything. Scams can be very convincing and seem like they are legitimate opportunities, when in reality they are just designed to take advantage of people's desperation or lack of knowledge.
