Pharmally is guilty of non-disclosure of having Michael Yang as guarantor, financier

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The end does not justify the means. It matters less if all the goods were delivered, when the premise has dubious elements.

The government should have the assurance that a supplier could deliver, and that could best be assured if the supplier has appropriate means like enough capital, and a credible reputation or track record, among many others, unlike Pharmally who only has above P500k as capital and is even wanted in Taiwan for financial crimes.

These two factors are already enough to raisevthe eyebrows of anybody in pursuing the transaction. Every procurement specialist would tell the same thing.

If Pharmally would be loaning money from other sources, they should have disclosed at the very start that they have Michael Yang providing the financial assistance and acting as guarantor.

Non-disclosure means they are possibly hiding something. This also tells us that Michael Yang's close connection with the government gave him the advantage in landing the billion- worth contract...and Pharmally most probably just acted as a dummy company, for Yang is possibly the one who benefitted and earned more from the deal.

Yang obviously got favored, and the government did not source other suppliers for better offers. He may have been the former economic adviser, but that should not give him special arrangement bypassing the necessary process and requirements. An adviser does not have the final say, but only gives recomendations.

The pandemic is not a qualified reason for the government to ignore the red flags indicating  Pharmally is not a credible supplier. There may be the need to immediately act in order to effectively counter the effects of this virus, but the government should have confined their options among the credible suppliers only.

Archbishop Soc Villegas encourages us to fight culture of murder, plunder proliferated by the Duterte administration

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

"Bullets kills. Viruses kill. Governance without direction kills. Corruption kills. Trolls kill with fake news. Hunger kills. When will the killings stop?"

Odds are duterte will next vent his spoiled brat rants and tantrums on the church once this is brought to his notice.

Which could be a good thing because when it happens, Juan dela Cruz will see how grave an error they made voting the likes of him and his like into office.

We can’t definitely deny that what he said is a fact. The killings will stop after this administration. We need a new government.

Of course the church has to weigh in. Not that it still has the kind of clout it did during the time of Cardinal Sin. But this is on Archbishop Socrates Villegas who was trained and groomed by his mentor to be his successor. His career got derailed by the ascension of Pope Francis who frowns.

Thank you, Archbishop Soc, for your wisdom and compassion. We hope that it continues to strengthen the faith of our nation and enlighten the minds of Filipinos.

Thank you for reminding us that God's love is more powerful than any evil & greater than any of our sufferings.

The killings will not stop until Duterte, and the likes of Go, Roque, Duque, Galvez, Lao and Bato are there! They are the culprit of this dysfunctional and PALPAK na Gobyerno!

EVIL is the fountainhead of lies ! And wherever and whenever lies abound, fakery and duplicity, deceptions and calumnies follow.

Archbishop Soc in the funeral mass for PNoy: “The best eulogy tribute we can pay to our dear President Noy is to bring back, recover, preserve, safeguard & never again to compromise our dignity as a people & the decency of our leaders as servants, not bosses.”

May konsensya pa ba sila?

“The flags at half mast are not only for the dead President, but for the dying decent governance.”

‘On The Job: The Missing 8’s World Premiere Captivates Venice in Five-Minute Standing Ovation, John Arcilla Wins Best Actor Award

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Ending in a five-minute standing ovation during its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, “On The Job: The Missing 8” by Erik Matti, the sole Southeast Asian film in the main competition, bagged the Coppi Volpi (Volpi Cup) for Best Actor for John Arcilla’s performance in the film.

Arcilla, who was unable to physically attend the awarding ceremony on the evening of September 11 in Italy, virtually extended his gratitude: “If there’s something that I really regret tonight, its because that I will not be able to kiss my own Volpi Cup there, in the middle of Venice and on that red carpet, just like the other great 77 actors whom I admire, who have already kissed their own, this most wonderful and prestigious award that one actor can have.”

Director Matti, actor Dennis Trillo, producers Dondon Monteverde and Quark Henares, and the rest of the “On The Job: The Missing 8” team walked the red carpet under the hot Venezian sun on September 10, followed by the film’s gala premiere screening in the Sala Grande.

“I think over a year ago, we were all sitting on one table, discussing how we’re gonna show ‘On the Job’ and we don't know yet if it's ever gonna be shown because the cinemas were closed and we don't know how long is the pandemic gonna take, but it's not just gonna be shown in a cinema, it's gonna be shown in something as prestigious as Venice and that were really really happy,” Director Matti had expressed about the film competing in Venice during a panel discussion on September 9.

The panel was titled “From the Philippines to the World: The On The Job Franchise and Exploring New Ways of Global Content Distribution,” moderated by Venice Film Festival Programmer Paolo Bertolin with director Matti and producers Monteverde and Henares as panelists. The film’s team also discussed the film’s adversities, strategies, and the future of Filipino filmmaking. It was then followed by On The Job Cocktails in the evening that was hosted by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

The crime-thriller film “On The Job: The Missing 8” is the sixth Filipino film to be shown in Venice. On September 12, the first three episodes from the six-part HBO Asia Original series “On The Job,” is set to premiere exclusively on HBO GO with new episodes every Sunday.

“Despite the uncontrollable circumstances of this pandemic, OTJ made its way to Venice and is set to premiere on HBO. We are happy to support the film and are hoping that it will also receive the same support from our Filipino audiences as much as it has in the international arena and may this serve as an inspiration to our filmmakers and the industry,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Diño.

The Philippines’ participation at the 78th Venice International Film Festival coincides with the Philippine Film Industry Month celebration spearheaded by FDCP with a month-long lineup of events, programs, and free screenings.
