7 PH Animation Projects to Pitch in Kre8tif! Conference in Malaysia

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Seven (7) animation projects will comprise the biggest Philippine delegation to pitch in the 12th Kre8tif! Conference and Content Festival in Malaysia, happening from September 8 to 10 on the Conference’s virtual platform.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), in partnership with Kre8tif!, issued a call for Philippine animation projects last August for the Elevator Pitch event, a platform devised for selected studios to pitch their original Intellectual Property (IP) to a panel of buyers within 5 minutes. FDCP has participated in Kre8tif! To represent the Filipino animation and film industry since 2018.

The seven animated projects participating in the Elevator Pitch are Mark Lenard Mendoza’s 2D animated feature “Rage Radio” by Friendly Foes Creative Studio, Karla Circe Consolacion and Mookie Tamara’s 2D traditional animation series “Sitio Balete” by meowsmouse, Manny Angeles and Avid Liongoren’s adult animation feature “The Jerry Action Bonanza” by TWENTY MANILA and ROCKETSHEEP, and Lawrence Panganiban’s 2D animation series “Solemn Vow” by Enigma Kai.

Completing the list are Keith Sicat’s 2D animations series “OFW” by KINO ARTS, Ceazara Vidallo’s 2D digital series “Not Not the Hairless Kapre” by MadScientist Media Production, and Ramon del Prado and Meryll Yan’s animated show on Youtube, “Miming and Friends."

“In the past years, we have brought exceptional Filipino animators to Malaysia to pitch their animation projects in Kre8tif!. This year, seven projects were selected, making this the biggest number of projects to have been selected to participate. Congratulations to the delegates, this triumph is significant to the celebration of Philippine Film Industry Month, especially to our aspiring Filipino animators,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza DiƱo.

Kre8tif! was established in 2009 by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) under the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia Malaysia with a mandate to develop the digital content industry in Malaysia.

This year’s edition of the Elevator Pitch will run from September 8 to 10 in the MY Digital Creativity Festival, a month-long event by Kre8tif! and LEVEL UP KL.

Mark Villar is under fire and ridicule from Ilonggos for credit-grabbing the Iloilo Esplanade

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

"Public Works Secretary Mark Villar has come under fire and ridicule from many Ilonggos for a post on his official Facebook page about the Iloilo Esplanade project."

Can anybody explain what exactly is Mark Villar's contribution sa projects secured by PNoy?

Feasibility study? PNoy.

Budget? PNoy.

Bidding? PNoy.

Terms & Conditions ng kontrata? PNoy.

So, saan papasok si Mark Villar diyan? Taga picture?

I was in Iloilo in early 2016 before the election in May. I was already jogging along Esplanade and enjoying the already rehabilitated river. How come he is claiming that it is part of build build build? Hindi pa nga nananalo si Digong noon.

I am fortunate to have visited the Esplanade two times. This is the most beautiful walking park in the country, I believe. And it also showcases the successful rehab of the Iloilo River which Ilonggos are rightly proud of. I have talked with locals in my two visits and they consistently give credit for the Esplanade to their mayors and Senator Drilon.

Shame on you Mark Villar.

The same thing happened in Cebu where the Cebu-Cordova bridge is being tagged as Build Build Build which is Pduts program. But the bridge is under PPP from Pnoy's admin. Lol

Build, build, build daw nakahashtag pa, ang daming Ilonggong nagcomment Kung kailan natapos at yong inauguration niyan..Tatak Villar - credit grabber!

Palusot of Sec. Villar is  projects' continuity regardless if initiated by former or current admin.

It's concept seems he's the man behind newly constructed road and bridges.

The whole Iloilo development project  includes relocation of squatters, closure of some establishments that pollutes the river, first few phases of the esplanade, road widening, diversion roads, fast craft terminal, invitation of several real estate developers, and many others.

Iloilo city 12 years ago is totally a different city today. All these started by Drilon and Mabilog and supported by Pnoy and Trenas. Thanks to them. The river was used as a catalyst to the whole city development. If there are remaining projects that are not yet implemented and will be implemented by the next admin, we should also give thanks to the next admin...but not solely take all the credit.

There are projects funded by multiple GAA... and Iloilo Esplanade is one of them. It is natural that not all Esplanade from segment/Phase 1 to 10 will be finished by just one or 2 administration. The whole Esplanade projects were planned in 2010 or even earlier. The first Esplanade (ESPLANADE-1) was constructed in 2011-2012.  The 1.2-kilometer Iloilo River Esplanade was formally opened on Aug. 19, 2012 as part of efforts to rehabilitate and bring back the Iloilo River’s historic past. Thousands of people attended the event.        Esplande-2 was about to start at that time which is situated almost opposite Esplanade-1 (about 800-meters). Then at the same time, Esplanade-3 being planned from Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr. Avenue to Barangay Nabitasan in La Paz District, which will cost around P80 million.       ===========>     Formerly known as TreƱas Boulevard, the Iloilo Esplanade is a project in the public realm. It is the initial part of a larger project to provide both sides of the Iloilo River with esplanades catering primarily to pedestrians. Phase one is 1.2 kilometers long between Iloilo Diversion and Carpenter Bridges in Iloilo City.

The site was an existing dike road devoid of shade and originally built just as a flood control measure. Senator FRANKLIN DRILON launched the esplanade project as a key component of his Iloilo River Improvement initiative.

The longest linear park in the country lines the Iloilo river as it traverses through 5 of the 7 city districts: Molo, Mandurriao, La Paz, Lapuz, and the City Proper. Now almost close to 10 km in length, it had inauspicious beginnings over a decade ago, initially meant as an alternate traffic route and flood control system between Carpenter Bridge in Molo district and the major city highway, Diversion Road.

The Iloilo River Esplanade is now in its ninth phase, stretching 8.1 kilometers in total length, more than half the length of the river. Each esplanade phase has its own unique charm and character.

“A strong leader accepts blame and gives the credit. A weak leader gives blame and accepts the credit.”

All these pre-campaign politician ads are bad but Mark Villar's is especially rancid. All of the DPWH's accomplishments and numbers presented as if it were his and his alone. Blatant credit-grabbing!

Credit grabbers in this administration who are salivating on getting elected positions in the coming May 2022 elections should be permanently trashed and rejected by voters.

To Ilonggos, let us stand our ground as we unite our votes in choosing the next rightful leader we think we deserve to have in running the country for the next 6 years. Every vote speaks of your voice, your power and your right as citizens of this wonderful country. Wag po sana natin sayangin ang pagkakataon. Fight Ilonggo fight.

Wazzup Pilipinas: Struggling but surviving amid the Pandemic

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Because of almost next to zero events happening due to the never ending quarantines of diverse classifications brought upon us by this government due to their poor response to the pandemic, it is with thanks that my blog site is still doing well.

An average of 200k monthly views is not bad at all. We could have done better if only our country is back to normal...or should I say, back to "better normal" since we could actually do a lot better if we could get rid of the scums of the government.

Though I do need to work harder and smarter despite of the everyday worries and concerns escalated by these politicians who are now seemingly busier campaigning for their 2022 government position slot, instead of focusing on solutions to resolve our needs to effectively go against the challenges created by this virus.

Also, the news of several "whiffs of corruption" being discovered plaguing the Duterte government, is alarming. This government is not only credit-grabbing projects initiated by the previous administrations, but they are also twisting facts to steer the focus of our fellow Filipinos away from their own atrocities which they couldn't sensibly explain in order to save themselves from scrutiny. Their paid trolls are already working overtime and in full blast, to misinform and confuse the Filipinos.

I had to evolve WazzupPilipinas.com into more of a news site, including political opinions, instead of the usual events coverage, presscons, food reviews, etc., because we hardly have offline activities mainly due to the dreaded virus which is scaring most of us thus keeping ourselves confined more in the safety of our homes.

There is a need to thwart the bad intentions, activities and plans of the Duterte administration, otherwise we will coninue to suffer in their hands especially if they get seats, either by cheating or widespread misinformation dissemmination, in the 2022 election.

Waxzup Pilipinas will continue to be vigilant to help in countering their nasty deeds.

We should not let them get away with evil.
