Importance of Multiplication Tables for Students

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Multiplication is not just required to get good grades in school but is a lifelong skill that makes daily-life activities much easier. Multiplication, addition, division, and subtraction are the primary mathematical operations. The usual school curriculum promotes students to memorize a multiplication table without understanding the concept behind it. Thus, it is necessary to avail an institution that believes in instilling strong mathematical foundations. Especially when it comes to young minds, they have to get the proper guidance in order to improve their speed and accuracy while multiplying numbers.

Cuemath is one such online educational platform that helps students clear their basic concepts. The certified tutors use math games, free & interactive multiplication worksheets, puzzles, etc., to help kids visualize a particular topic. They allow students to work at their own pace and combine fun with learning. In addition to this, they make a topic relatable by providing real-life examples and outlining the vitality of that topic hence, creating a holistic learning environment.

In this article, we will discuss the importance of multiplication and how it helps to develop a student’s auxiliary skills.
1. Mental Arithmetic

Once a student understands how to multiply, he can easily memorize charts such as multiplication tables from 1 to 20. It helps him to solve complicated problems within seconds. As multiplication is the repeated addition of numbers, he also improves his ability to add numbers. As children become accustomed to working with tables, they can visualize the answers to questions. Thus, as a student’s mind gets conditioned to solving problems using mental arithmetic, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems will be like a cakewalk.
2. Building Blocks

There are many higher-order topics that use multiplication as a building block. Algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and so on require heavy use of this topic. As students build a strong conceptual understanding of multiplication, they find it easy to understand concepts related to other sister topics. Learning Mathematics is a step by step process. By having crystal clear concepts of simpler topics working with more complicated ones comes naturally to children.
3. Increase Confidence

As kids get more comfortable in solving problems on multiplication, they can boost their confidence. They do not have to use a pen and paper or fingers to count numbers and multiply them. They have fluency in the topic and can instantly produce answers when required. Thus, the daily use of multiplication starts coming naturally to them. In addition to this, overcome their fear of Mathematics.
4. Real-life Applications

Multiplication is used in almost all real-life situations. For example, say you go to the grocery store and want to buy 10 bananas. Each banana costs $0.2. If you do not know how to multiply and find the total value, there are chances that the shopkeeper might cheat. Hence, by doing simple multiplication, i.e., $0.2 * 10 = $2, you can easily compute the value of all the bananas and ensure that you are paying the right amount of money.
5. Promotes a Sense of Numbers

In Mathematics, most instances require manipulation of numbers. Whether you are solving a straightforward sum or a complicated word problem, you always have to work with various forms of numbers. Thus, it is necessary to develop a strong number sense. Learning about multiplication and the associated tables helps to develop these skills.
Conclusion

Multiplication is an amazing tool that helps to solve problems quickly. By understanding its importance at a young age, kids can get motivated to study the topic. Hopefully, this article gives you an insight into why you should learn about multiplication, and I hope you have fun learning about it.

MECQ means Medyo ECQ?

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Duterte approves IATF recommendation to put NCR, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal under MECQ until end of April.

ECQ to MECQ.
I can't find the infographics anymore - does anyone have one?

MECQ:
- Medyo ECQ
- Mejj ECQ
- May pagka ECQ
- Muntik maging ECQ
- Minsan ECQ
- Mapanlinlang na ECQ
- Mmmm, ECQ?
- Minor ECQ
- Mild ECQ
- Malabong ECQ
- MatiraMatibay ECQ

At this point, ECQ, MECQ, GCQ, MGCQ all sounds like that Afritada, Mechado, Menudo, Calderata conundrum to me.

The M in MECQ  is for malaybanatinglahat.... or pwede ding Manigaskayonglahat.... Or Mahirapkayoputanginaumaliskayomagtiiskayosahirapatgutomwalaakongpakialam or Magjojogging/ Maggolf muna ako....or

They changed the restrictions of ECQ from before so I don't think it will be the same MECQ also. And they still want people to wait until tomorrow for clarifications. Ano ba yan.

From ECQ to MECQ (Medyo ECQ) and then what? Run around in circles again?

Pero binago rin nila ECQ for April 2021, i.e., may public transport at curfew mula 6pm

The ECQ before isn't the same as the ECQ now. Actually to me, it's as if they these CQs to leave a notion that they're doing something even when they're not.

Even our beloved government, can't even say the difference between ECQ & MECQ, kaya bukas pa nila i-announce. Pagninilayan pa nila mga guidelines.

Whichever term this useless government will use, it doesn't change the fact that they are failing in handling the situation since the very beginning. Puro announcement na lang ho ba Mang Kanor and friends?

NCR+ is another confusing term they added. When will this admin realize that their ways don’t make sense anymore!??!

Why do they always wait until tomorrow to announce important things? Ano na difference ng MECQ of 2020 sa MECQ ng 2021? why do they always wait until tomorrow to announce important things?

Okay so MECQ na. So can we ask ano pong na-accomplish natin during ECQ? Kasi pabalik-balik pero it's the same old incompetence that we're seeing and experiencing. These letters don't mean a thing unless we actually do something about it.

Here are some of the accomplishments during ECQ period:
1.Make the public believe that he is still alive.
2.That you can get covid twice within 3 weeks.
4.That competency can be shown while playing vroom vroom in his bike and playing golf in the middle of the night.

Imagine what Filipinos could have done if na manage yung pandemic sa Pilipinas. They even prioritized the terror bill just to be sure.

MECQ, no assurance of vaccine supply, no concrete plans, hospital manpower is compromised, remdesivir/ toci and mech vents are scarce, and with not a single word from the president while the cases and death rates are climbing. You know what this is? It’s a NATIONWIDE MASSACRE!!!

One thing is certain: if not the virus, the police/government will kill you.

MECQ stands for

M - Incompetent kami

The power of social media platforms

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Social media offers a platform to help people in many ways.

The incredible power of social media in campaigns, including advocacies, surpassed our expectations, and paved the way for social change.

However, engage with an open mind and know our limits. If the other does not listen, then use other means of continuing the advocacy. We may not be able to change one mind, but there are thousands more with more open minds that we can influence.

The most vulnerable, and gullible,  communities are most likely not active on social media. But I believe that as much as it is important to build the advocacy from the ground up, trickling down is just as effective. We need to start somewhere.

I would really want campaign efforts to reach out also on indigenous people and other minorities. They are experiencing many things these days that access to online presence would be needed to empower them. Awareness of the current events and issues is essential for them to make well-informed decisions and actions.

The pandemic brought us to embrace the digital world yet some of us suffered from mental breakdown because of the harsh social media environment itself.

We must use all kind of means to amplify and improve our efforts to reach out especially now that we are in a digital era. Using the means of social media will help reach wider audience to discuss issues and matters.

We must reach out more specifically to remote areas in all provinces, especially in Mindanao and Visayas. The majority of them are poor, and some of them do not have access to sound and accurate information.

Professionals needs to promote credible sources of information. They also need to connect to the government. We need the help and support of the national government to combat disinformation... However, not if they are the real.source of disinformation and fake news.

If we're united and if there's something that universalizes our efforts just like our public social media posts, we can have much wider reach.

I think we also need to reach the older generation; to let them know that there will be people that can listen to them.

Being socially connected to others can ease stress, anxiety, and depression. By posting positivity quotes, and uplifting message for everyone, we can.somehow reduce the stress many are experiencing... especially with this incompetent government.

One way is to collaborate with experts who can verify/validate the information....not former military men who are not qualified or able to come up with sensible and intellectual moves. We should tap pool of researchers and connect with other expert organizations to help combat fake information. This is a very important factor for socmed platforms.

Let us cater more conversations and amplify voices of our professionals, regardless of their expertise. Also silence those who.only seem to be spreading false information.

Institutions and individuals must work hand-in-hand for us to recover, bounce back and combat disinformation and spread awareness through social media.

it is hard to combat disinformation pero with proper way of informing, educating, and guidance, correct information will pave its way.

Our maximum effort would help a lot. Would it be ambitious, if we would also collaborate with other influencers in Youtube, Tiktok and celebrities.

The messaging should be clear, accurate, updated. And they should be pathways through which people can access better resources.

It is ambitious as it may be, but I agree that It will surely be helpful to have the help and the reach of these known creators, too.

We hope that as we continue the discourse, we also continue to create safe and inclusive spaces for everyone in the community to share their stories of hope.

Efforts need to be relatable. People tend to support campaigns if there are compelling stories or narratives behind them. More so if they are something from true-to-life experiences.
