The RFID buzzer beaters cause mammoth traffic at toll gates

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Day one of RFID lanes only but they are still accepting cash and on the spot installation.

Imagine trying so hard to have your radio frequency identification or  RFID installed a month ahead, only for them to open all toll gates as installation lanes.

I know! It's the most annoying thing ever! When they try to push you so hard on installing the RFID ahead but ending up opening toll lanes to install RFID... IT'S SO BS!

Did too many Filipinos leave their RFID installation until the last minute? SMC and MPTC have installed more than 3 million stickers, but traffic today at NLEX and SLEX toll plazas for stickering was horrendous.

Toll operations start implementing the transition period for cashless transactions in the north and south expressways causing mammoth traffic in areas where RFID tags are claimed as vehicle owners and drivers beat the deadline.

It's chaos. Someone needs to intensify the roll out of RFIDs and information campaign while at the same time accommodate cash toll collection until adoption is close to 100%.

I think we all know so well that 80% of the population would only try to get theirs on the last day. If only there was no limit of 100 stickers per day on installation stalls, it wouldn’t be such a task to the lazy.

Now here you are. With your RFID installed for your “supposedly” convenient trip, waiting behind a line of buzzer beaters who’ll only try to have theirs installed on the 1st day of implementation.

It's confusing because as I understand it even after they are "cashless" there will still be an option to buy a RFID sticker at the main toll gates, which is what they are doing now. Kaloka!

Also, can’t we just have one RFID valid in all expressways na lang please DOTrPH? I am pretty sure that there’s technology available to integrate the systems for Autosweep and Easy Trip naman na. This will avoid the unnecessary long lines in the installation of RFIDs.

Isang RFID na lang. Hindi yung magkaiba pa sila. Shuta mas lalo nila tayong pinapahirapan tapos palpak naman ang pag read.

Dapat yun muna ang ginawa nila. Hindi yung hiwa-hiwalay. Also dapat ginawa nila yung hatian na maayos. Like north, isang company lang. South, isang company. Hindi yung nahati pa.

Naiinis ako sa RFID na yan. They shouldn't implement a deadline kung wala naman capacity yung toll installation sites to forcibly  install stickers on all cars.

I think the toll operators miscalculated the stickers needed. There is so much demand for very limited supply.

Senator Grace Poe said the RFID installation period should be extended beyond January 11 next year while Senator Nancy Binay said that it is better to have a functioning system in place than setting up an arbitrary deadline only to fail.

Siguro mga senador namin, dapat nagpanukala kayo na dapat isang RFID para sa lahat ng toll sa Pilipinas. At hindi extension ng RFID installation ang sinabi ninyo.

They shouldn't have done away with the cash option either - COVID OR NO COVID.

Kung ipinilit nila yung RFID na yan, eh di sana iisa nalang for all expressways, or sige two stickers pero one dedicated for north and one dedicated for south.

Bakit din kailangan na 1-2 RFIDs per car when in other countries like in the US you just buy the box or the card and use it on any car you're using, total binabayaran mo din naman ang toll.

The deadline is for toll operators to implement cashless transactions. There is no deadline for having the stickers. If you are non-frequent traveler (you live in far away province) there is no need to cram. I think we need to let the frequent travelers to have the RFID muna.

Government and the private partners lacks accountability on the failed RFID distribution.

Despite the company’s efforts to open 100 additional RFID sticker installation sites and implementing 24 hours installation at major locations, Tycoon Ramon Ang, president of San Miguel Corporation said the number of applications is just too much.

Ang urged the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to consider the high number of motorists who have yet to secure their RFID electronic stickers.

Iloilo city under GCQ again? Make it make sense, please!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Philippine government keeps Metro Manila under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from December 1 to 31, 2020 due to rising cases of #COVID19PH. Other areas under GCQ include Batangas, Iloilo, Tacloban, Lanao del Sur, Iligan, Davao City, and Davao del Norte.

Iloilo City is among the 7 areas placed under GCQ, while the rest of the country is under MGCQ.

Iloilo City (w/ 447k popu) has 161 active cases (AC) and a 2-wk ave. case of AC of 232 and yet it's reverted to GCQ. Meanwhile, Bacoor City (w/ 600k popu) has 253 AC and a 2-wk ave. of AC of 272 and yet under MGCQ.

Paano ba magdecide? Based on stats or based on ego?

Iloilo City? Under GCQ again? Despite having the lowest number of recorded cases these past few weeks in the country? Digong, make it make sense, please.

I just don't get the point why Iloilo City has still placed GCQ? How does IATF reconcile with these data? Until now ba di parin maayos ayos ang data nila?

Iloilo having the lowest number of active covid cases yet it is GCQ, Hi Bacolod which is MGQC.

Among the names mentioned by the President is former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog: Dismissed for grave misconduct, serious dishonesty and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.

Mabilog, who is critical of the Duterte administration on social media, says Iloilo was placed under GCQ due to "payback" against him and the city.

Mabilog responds to Duterte's tirades, saying the President refuses to acknowledge the city's achievements.

"You can destroy me all you want, but you could never deny the fact what Iloilo achieved together with the Ilonggos, that you never said anything great about Iloilo kasi bitter ka, coz you can only bully me. Ilonggos are smart and would always see the dirt beneath your pores. " - former Mayor Jed Mabilog

No word can describe the beauty of the City of Love. Iloilo, City.

I’ve been to Iloilo City twice and for me, everything is beautiful. Indeed the Wakanda of the Philippines.

I am not from iloilo. But for me, For me iloilo city is one of the country’s most progressive cities and perhaps progressive people lives there too.

Maliban sa congresswoman nila na nagvote sa  franchise denial ng ABS-CBN, they have very competitive, selfless and compassionate leaders both at the City LGU and the Provincial LGU... and Proud na karamihan sa Ilonggos ay hindi DDS.

Iloilo is one of the gold standards of governance. In a country where leaders true to “public service” are few and far between, Iloilo shows us what is possible, what can be achieved - if the leaders are inclusive and think of what is good for the people and not just themselves.

They could never deny the fact what Iloilo achieved together with the Ilonggos. Duterte never said anything great about Iloilo kasi bitter siya. Ilonggos are smart and would always see the dirt beneath his pores.

One of the best things that had happened in Iloilo was the making of Esplanade. Napakasarap mag jogging early in the morning and evening. Nakakawala ng problema and stress from work.

Iloilo City is also working with the DENR, private sector partners such as Globe and SM, and universities such as UP Visayas to plant more mangroves along the banks of the Iloilo River / Iloilo Esplanade.

In Iloilo City, repairs are quickly done on damaged areas of the city's bike lanes as bikers post pics and exact locations of them in biking community pages. The LGU acts fast since the mayor and other officials are also members of same community page.

Iloilo City transformed vacant street-side lots into pocket gardens as part of its urban greening program.

Power companies also removed electric posts that obstruct bike lanes to make them safer for bikers and pedestrians alike.

Local taxi company, Light of Glory, has donated its stock of used and excess rubber tires to the Iloilo City Beautification Project to be transformed into rubber pots that function both as safety road dividers and as plant boxes for urban greening.

An empty lot used for parking in Barangay Bagumabayan, City Proper was cleared, cleaned, and planted with ornamental plants (bandera española, chichirica, lily).

An empty river bank in Nabitasan, La Paz near Jalandoni Bridge was transformed into a grove for royal palms.

Area beside St. Joseph School located along Nabitasan, La Paz-San Rafael, Mandurriao bypass road cleared and planted with yellow bell, petunia, morning glory, margarita, pandakaki, santan, Vietnam rose, and rosas de baybayon flowers, as well as calachuchi and nedra trees.

Another patch along the same road was turned into sunflower row

Vincent Van Gogh is shaking.

Vacant lot next to the NBI compound was cleaned and planted with red, yellow, and orange canna lilies.

Iloilo City establishes a Tree Park Network composed of urban pocket forests and a wetland/mangrove park.

The move will boost the city’s existing urban greening, pollution reduction, flood control, and climate change response initiatives.

Fruit trees have been planted along the banks of the Iloilo City floodway using the novel Miyawaki Method, a Japanese way of planting and growing plants and trees quickly.

Aside from adding more urban greenery, the trees will also strengthen the floodway’s embankments.

Although there are still numerous urban poor areas here in the City, the local government is taking measures to mitigate this.

The lab also got a perfect score during the proficiency test administered by the DOH RITM.

Iloilo City opens its own molecular lab to boost the city’s COVID-19 testing capacity.

It can process up to 400 swab tests a day and release results as within 2 days.

The Provincial Government of Iloilo also established a separate molecular laboratory within the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in the central Iloilo town of Pototan.

The lab can process up to 800 swab tests a day.

The UP Genome Center also opened a branch in the Miagao, Iloilo campus of UP Visayas.

The UP Genome Center was one of the first institutions to study the causative virus of COVID-19 and develop the Philippines’ fist locally made test kits to detect coronavirus.

All I can say is, Mayor Jerry Trenas and Former Jed Mabilog. They are not perfect, but they have good governance.

And dont forget that Miss Philippines is also from Iloilo. The city isn't just recognize for how clean it is, but also how beautiful the people are.  Kudos to all ilonggos.

Pero ang nagustuhan ko talaga dito, walang masyadong epal.

Padayon!

Pagpunta ninyo, visit Guimaras for the world-class mangoes. Kung sa palengke ka naman aabutin, smell the “butt” of the mango. Kapag mabango, buy. Pwede tumawad, wag mahiya, Basta with a smile. Pag Di matamis yung manga, isawsaw sa toyo. This Ilonggo secrets I share with you.

Ayun napahiya.

DDS trying to drag Iloilo City again as "Drug Hub" in the comments. Lol and Davao City? Can't even compare to Iloilo's contingency when it comes to dealing the virus. Davao is a myth of the past.

Only digong branded Iloilo as a drug hub. He just want to ruin the image.  Saka, gusto niyang mapasuko sa kanya ang mga leader ng Iloilo. Gusto nya magsunod-sunuran sa kanya para malaya ang pamilya nyang magpakalat ng drugs sa doon. Remember, drugs in Iloilo are from Mindanao.

Iloilo debunked the myth that Davao is the best city in the Philippines. It should be amobg everyone's bucket list to visit one day.

Iloilo will always be in my heart. They have built a dream not only for them but for the world to see, that even a small city doesn't need an abusive personality to inspire other cities. They are not bitter but better.

Wazzup Pilipinas!

AIRFUNDING, a global crowdfunding company donates care packs to typhoon Rolly's hard-hit areas in Cagsawa, Albay in the Philippines.

Airfunding, a global donation-based crowdfunding platform launched its Airfunding CARES campaign in the Philippines.

As the Philippines is currently battling the after-effects of the destructive typhoons Rolly and Ulysses, Airfunding, a global donation-based crowdfunding platform recently launched its company-sponsored charity drive named Airfunding Cares, to help people affected by natural calamities and the global pandemic crisis. A recent relief effort was sent to Cagsawa, Daraga, Albay in the Philippines to help families hard hit by typhoon Rolly. Airfunding sent "Care Packs" to more than 100 families and distributed bread among young children in the streets leading to the area.

"These typhoons are devastatingly destructive, and our hearts goes out to millions of affected. Although our effort may not be enough, we are trying our best effort to bring in more help through donations from our millions of supporters across the globe"

Airfunding Cares is committed to raising $ 10,000 to help more people in the Philippines especially the Cagayan and Tuguegarao province who suffered the most because of the flooding brought about by typhoon Ulysses.

In addition to the company campaign, the site has also received more than 100 new projects for the same cause. Filipinos from all over the world created fundraising project on www.airfunding.net Airfunding is a fundraising platform that specializes in small-scale projects made by individuals, groups, or local NGOs, for a personal cause, community initiative, an event, or just anything that needs funding. It's a keep-it-all crowdfunding platform, so project owners keep the entire amount collected even if the target hasn’t been met.

Why keep-it-all platform? " We believe that even a small amount of money would be a real help to project owners. That’s why we decided to make a keep-it-all platform. Our business model relies on tips from the supporter. It’s essentially just a commission but, when you support a project you can choose to tip a percentage of the amount." - says Ryosuke Abe, CEO of Co-Founder of Kiheitai Inc., the parent group for Airfunding.

There is help beyond borders and barriers, Airfunding has over 10,000,000 supporters around the world and can be accessed in 200+ countries. Airfunding is free to use, anyone can register and start creating projects in less than 5 minutes. Airfunding hopes to attract more Filipinos to create more projects, whether for personal, for the community or for any cause (so that the world will see and send their support).
