Liza Soberano is the Darna that we never had

Wazzup Pilipinas!

ABS-CBN might be turning the Darna project with Jane De Leon into a TV series instead of a movie. The project is said to be pushing through in 2021.

Imagine if Darna was still Liza Soberano and the director was still Erik Matti? Sayang talaga!

I am lost for words. Wow. I am one of those people who said that she is not fit for the role but I must admit no one of this generation can take the role of Darna except for Liza Soberano.

A Darna that we never had. She would have been fitting to the role than the latest one  whom they gave the project to. Quite an unknown and not even in the news. The stunts she have shown on the videos were like looking very polished already.

Theoretically, pag binalik kay Liza ang Darna for sure bebenta ito. I mean she's been tagged as a real-life Darna in many instances already. So malaking factor na yun na she's been constantly associated with the character. But I doubt it'll even push through so just wishful thinking.

Unfortunately, she can't portray it anymore because of her finger injury. But that could have been easily worked around with.

I take back fully what I said about Liza's casting for Darna. Not because of the stunt video circulating online, but because of what she fights for and what she believes in.

Honestly, nagduda talaga ako sa kakayahan ni Liza Soberano maging Darna before. Some people also doubted her but as you can see, she has proved us wrong! Yung acting skills niya din sa Make It With You nag level up! Sayang talaga!

Jane De Leon, sorry but Liza is our preferred new Darna.

Bold, Beautiful and Bankable. She's the one and only Filipino Wonder Woman! She's a real life Darna and it's all that matters.

Having said that, we all know she was injured because of these difficult trainings. For now we can only dream of Liza’s version of Darna, but maybe someday!

If not Darna, then another film with as much action. Because this is so fierce in a way that is breathtaking. Every move holds such power. We need this version of her in a film.

As an alternative, imagine a story of Filipina assassins headed by Anne Curtis Smith with Cristine Reyes, Nadine Lustre and Liza Soberano. Hmmm, that would be smoking hot.

Keep soaring high, my hope. I know things will fall on to the right place as I saw a brighter light behind your back. You deserve nothing but the best. My forever, Darna. A heroine both in fictional and real world.

Miss Earth 2020 Is Miss USA Lindsey Coffey

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Miss Earth 2020 is the best pageant in the world for its beautiful cause....and now with its virtual presentation of its Grand Coronation, Carousel productions also made another historical achievement for being the first international pageant to hold such a feat.

Hosted by motoring influencer James Deakin, the online event did not fail to impress as it pilots a new normal way of holding a beauty pageant that surpassed expectations.

Undeniably not as engaging as the face-to-face events, this way could be the beginning of a better normal search for beauty queens with that special love for nature and the environment. The quest for Eco-Angels has shown us an innovation in still being able to find their Earth Warrior beauty.

Watching Miss Earth 2020, makes me miss travelling the world. This pandemic has both good and positive circumstances but hoping next year we get to be back to a new and better normal.

Congratulations to the candidate for having another win. First in their election for voting into position a new president Joe Biden, and now for winning another prestigious title as top queen of one of the highly recognized pageant.

Let's all bown down to Miss Earth 2020, Lindsey Coffey

Congratulations to our new Miss Earth eco-angels and queens for the year 2020.

"Respect the evidence that was brought to you."

For the newly crowned Miss Earth 2020 Lindsey Coffey, fighting fake news amid a global pandemic this year starts with the people respecting science and solid evidence.

At 28, Lindsey is a professional model and never joined a pageant. She only took the chance in Miss Earth as it is alligned with her passion and causes in life.

Lindsey Coffey posted on social her thoughts on winning the Miss Earth 2020 crown:

"I joined the Miss Earth sisterhood to become a voice, to inspire, and to make a difference in our world. Now is that opportunity.

Commemoration of the157th birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana is set to lead the 157th birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio on Monday, Nov. 30 at 8:00 a.m., at the Bonifacio National Monument in Caloocan City.

Lorenzana will represent President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in leading the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies for the hero’s birth date with the theme: “Bonifacio 2020: Tapang at Kaligtasan Tungo sa Malayang Lipunan.”

Due to the dangers brought by COVID-19 pandemic, however, the commemoration will be a “simple, yet meaningful celebration.”

During the live telecast of the ceremonial rites, a virtual message by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be shown in celebration of the hero’s birth anniversary.

Other historical sites commemorating the event include the:

  • Museo ng Paglilitis ni Andres Bonifacio, Maragondon, Cavite;
  • Bonifacio Memorial Shrine, beside Manila City Hall;
  • Bonifacio Monument, Balintawak (Cloverleaf), Quezon City;
  • Andres Bonifacio Monument, San Juan City;
  • Bonifacio Monument, Tutuban Center, Manila; and
  • Bonifacio Monument, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Andres Bonifacio, a humble and patriotic man, saw the oppression his fellowmen endured under colonial rule. He joined the La Liga Filipina, an organization founded by Dr. Jose Rizal. When the organization ceased to exist on 3 July 1892, Bonifacio founded the Kataastaasan Kagalanggalang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (KKK or Katipunan). He was later on elected as the Supremo of the revolutionary organization.

This year’s commemorative program is led by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), in coordination with the City Government of Caloocan and other government agencies. (PIA-NCR)
