What if my mom’s a bottle of RC Cola too?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Why did i think it was a good idea to look at the RC Cola twitter trend at 5:30 in the morning?

That's how early I wake up, and naturally for "influencers" like me I always check for messages and updates on social media, aside from emails and text messages.

But what in the Black Mirror is happening dun sa RC Cola ad?

What's the story? Coke and Pepsi are presenting their brands thru heartwarming advertisements. Meanwhile, RC Cola is shocking viewers out of their senses.

I'm all for dank and surreal memes and other shit like that but the new 2020 RC Cola commercial is just plain WTF MATE, ARE YOU ON COKE OR SUMTHN?!

That RC Cola commercial is actually testing our real reactions toward diversity.

It's about that time of year when A's fans hope for a Coke, would be willing to settle for a Pepsi, and end up getting an RC Cola.

What?... what if my mom’s a bottle of RC Cola too?

If the recent RC Cola ad moved you to  tweet your reaction about it, regardless whether endearingly in favor or violently against, then RC and their agency just achieved their objective of creating organic buzz for the brand.

Y'all have to admit the fact that RC Cola's goal was to truly shock the social media with weirdness and that is something out of the norms of advertisements. It's always been like cheesy love and sad stories, and they went really out there, kudos to the team who thought of this!

Discussing the biological and sociopolitical implications of that commercial in the RC Cola cinematic universe.

Would you believe this is a soda ad from the Philippines? If something more disturbing could happen today aside from RC Cola ad, I'm flipping.

RC Cola’s commercial is like GMA’s Alakdana meets Franz Kafka’s metamorphosis. Unique but extremely disturbing. Creepy is an understatement.

I know I've seen weirder shits before but this RC cola ad just proves me wrong.

Haven’t had an RC Cola in years, but thought I’d have a couple today. Oh my Gosh, the ad worked!

I love you, RC Cola!

Thank you, coz I haven't had a nightmare in a while and I absolutely love it!

Your marketing team just fucken won and now breaking the Internet.

Did RC Cola Philippines surprised the social media community on Thursday with what netizens described as a "weird" and "creepy" advertisement?

No, that RC Cola ad is not just weird, it's actually brilliant. Everyone's talking about it right now, and that's how ads should work.

The new RC Cola commercial is my kind of shitt. It's the type of concept that I would think at 4am, pass due the pressure of deadline, and still got a passing mark.

Did it fail by trying too hard or did it succeed by going weirder than the usual? You be the judge by watching.

I'll be clear here....

For production design I give you credit for that, but the advertisement is way too freaky and disturbing.

Why would you use this kind of surrealism in advertisement? I don’t get your commercial...but you got my full attention.

At least I'm not the only one who finds that RC Cola ad uncomfy to watch. Lol!

But good job RC cola, thank you for the nightmares!

"We're just vessels. And even when we're told we're special, as I was, as you would've been, we're still just vessels.. for them to take and take.. until we're empty and alone." -Yennefer of Vengerberg, The Witcher S1 Ep 4: 'Of Banquets, Bastards and Burials

I thought I’d seen everything this year...and then I saw that RC Cola commercial. I want whatever the RC Cola team is on.

After watching, I realized I still have many things to learn about marketing. I dunno what strategy was that coz for me that was so disturbing. I never thought a beverage commercial will be this weird.

Whoever conceptualised the ad, how sleep-deprived were you when you made that?

I'm trying to watch RC Cola's ad again and again for me to find out what's the real meaning of the ad.

Oh to have your mother pour you four glasses of RC Cola and have some quality family cola drinking time.

Maybe 'we' find it a lil' bit creepy but it really got me. I LOVE YOU MAMA 3000!!

RC Cola's commercial is the epitome of 2020.

Nice one, RC Cola.

Tips and Tricks to Have You Betting Ready for the Races

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A day out at the races - be it real or virtual - is an exhilarating and sociable activity for all. Getting the champagne flowing and the good times rolling is pretty straight forward - pour, enjoy, repeat. But before you start popping corks, make sure that you are betting ready with our top tips and tricks to use at the bookies or online with sites such as Timeform.

Get Down with the Lingo

Know your maidens from your mares and your bankers from your backwards. With a bit of knowledge you will soon be able to chat with the most seasoned of punters - and if in doubt, nod and smile along as you cheekily check out our race terminology glossary for the lowdown on the lingo. Widening your racing and betting vocabulary will not only make you sound good, it will also help you to make informed and successful bets.

Do Your Homework

Watching previous races will help you to get an idea of the horse and jockey characteristics and potential to bag you a win on a given course or surface. Put what you learn from watching clips and races together with the horse’s current form, and placing your bet becomes less about going for the quirky names, and more about knowledge and potential.

Types of Bets

There are a myriad of different types of bets on offer. Make sure you understand how they work before you start thinking about making bets. Single bets are the most common, of course, as they are simple straight win bets placed on a single event. Accumulators are pretty self explanatory and consist of four or more selections. Heinz (comprising 57 bets) Alphabet (you’ve got it - 26 bets) and the Super Yankee (ten doubles, ten trebles, four five folds and a five fold accumulator) are perhaps a bit more complicated!

Know Your Jockeys

Just like all sportspeople, jockeys have favourite events and surfaces. Researching past wins, training regimes, relationships with trainers and race day interviews will give you an insight into what the jockey is expecting of the horse. Some trainers work with more than one jockey, so it is well worth finding out who is the lead jockey - the one they rely on and favour - as he is likely to be riding their strongest horse and be their brightest hope when it comes to a win.

Study the Surface

Not all surfaces are created equal. Horses respond to different surfaces in different ways. A good to firm surface with little moisture under-hoof provides the horses with plenty of grip and therefore results in some great sprinting opportunities. Look out for the surface reports and use them to your advantage in order to maximise your payouts.

Know Your Horses

Knowing the horses, their form, their past riders and their preferred surfaces is the most important thing when betting on a winner. The more you know about the horses you are betting on, the more likely you are to see them show the rest of the pack what winning looks like. It can be tempting just to bet on the favourite, but it’s the researchers and the super sleuths that come out on top when it comes to horse racing.

Slapshock frontman Vladimir "Jamir" Garcia commits suicide

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Rest in peace, Jamir.

The frontman of Filipino heavy metal band Slapshock Vladimir "Jamir" Garcia has died at the age of 42.

A report from the Quezon City Police District read that Garcia was found lifeless in his home. Cause of death: Suicide by hanging?

From Chester Benington (Linkin Park) 2017

Down to Jamir Garcia (Slapshock) 2020

Two composers and vox who always saves us from depression but can’t even save themselves. They took their own lives.

To be honest, I don't know how I can go on with life.

It ain't funny how people who gave us the energy to keep on going are the ones who doesn't have enough energy to keep on going.

To say that I'm heartbroken is an understatement.

Tough to face reality.

We need to appreciate our musicians now more than ever, especially this time where live music doesn't exist and can't guide our hearts to find the right beat.

Live forever in memories, Jamir.

This line hits differently now: Ako'y di na magbabalik, paalam na sayo!

Rest in paradise, Jamir Garcia of Slapshock

Gone but never forgotten. Magmomosh tayo ulit kung nasan ka man ngayon :(

Rest in peace, Jamir.

I'm in shock. And even more so their family. Jamir Garcia's sister has a plea. Sana naman pakinggan.

He has family living abroad. Imagine niyo na lang gaano kasakit mabalitaan yung nangyari habang malayo sila. Tapos yung photos na yun pa ang bubungad sa kanila on social media out of the blue.

Respeto naman. Hindi kailangan pagpiyestahan yung nangyari.

Fuck suicide. Let's all face 2021 strong.

Let's have more stress-relieving activities, conversations with friends, planting or gardening as a hobby, taking care of pets, morning walks and night strolls often. They're not much but it helps.

Hirap kasi magpa checkup sa psychologist o therapist dahil may bayad ehh.. I mean. I know naman na may bayad magpagamot at magpa ospital pero isa pa yan sa problema, may bayad magpa consult.

I know how life can give us countless problems but what I know for sure is that you cant eat that ice cream of your favorite flavor, or sip that coffee in the morning, or appreciate that small tattoo, or laugh when you're already crying with your friends in the afterlife. Keep breathing. There is not enough valid reasons to end our lives. Consult an expert if friends are not around much to understand, or we are too ashamed to reach out.
