Duterte threatens Facebook for bringing down syndicated accounts linked to the police and military

"President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, September 28, threatened to stop Facebook in the Philippines after the tech giant recently took down fake networks linked to the country’s police and military.

"Is there life after Facebook? I don't know."

Duterte slammed the social media giant for shutting down "advocacy" pages of the government. The social media company has previously explained that it shut down accounts and pages due to 'coordinated inauthentic behavior.' 

Social media giant Facebook has also shut down several inauthentic Facebook accounts and pages, content of which was supportive of President Rodrigo Duterte, and his daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio’s possible 2022 presidential bid.

Facebook said the network "violated its policy against foreign or government interference."

Finally the puppet master has surfaced, with strings tied round his fingers which make the trolls dance to the tune of his blabbering.

And why will he threaten to bring down Facebook if the government is not involved with the fake networks spreading syndicated fake news?

And since when did state sponsored fakes news, red tagging, malicious propaganda become good for the people?

Facebook just did their job lol. Why are you even enraged about this? Is it because you’re guilty?

Paalala lang po, if you’ll ban facebook here in Philippines, hundreds or even thousands of small business owners will loose their source of income. Is that what you want? 

Remember Facebook was one machinery that geared his election as President. Facebook is also Filipinos', whether they voted for you or not, way of expressing their views and communicating with their kababayans and people all over the world. Don't say it, don't threaten, JUST DO IT. If you really believe you can do it without getting a lot of hate from Filipinos.

He also cannot violate the constitution which guarantees freedom of expression -- and Facebook is definitely a part of our freedom of expression.

What a whiny snowflake, always scare of “terrorists” and their memes lol. Im sure he’s just paving the way for WeChat though.

He never recognized that Facebook plays a vital role in government since agencies also use Facebook to communicate with people, and Facebook also helps in the pandemic efforts since government also uses Facebook as a medium to keep people aware of government guidelines. Mainly because it's where most people hang out to keep connected, well-informed and entertained too.

It just shows his priorities... Defining who he is.  A control freak. 

You're just giving the next president of the country (let's say not from your party affiliation) an achievement. After your term, they will bring back Facebook and people will remember that president and be known forever as the one that is more sensible.

His concern must be the present pandemic and how he can help the needy people. Why concern himself about Facebook? It's out of his concern. Is he out of his mind?

Lahat na lang ba Mr. President? Whoever go against your will, tira ka ng tira. Attack dito, attack doon!!! Look what's happening? A lot of foreign investors are decoupling China and looking elsewhere on ASEAN countries, but they bypass Philippies because of your behaviour.  Do you think your mantra of leadership would bring genuine progress and development? No. Parang my mental imbalance po kase kayo mag isip. Kapag kontra sa iyo, kulang na lang ay buhusan mo ng gasolina sa galit. Pero kahit alipores mo magnanakaw, nag paparty, silent night ka. Walk the talk you did during the campaign. Those 16million people should be zero by now but your troll farm are trying to make it look otherwise. Now that Facebook has done it's job to moderate their site against apparent syndicates, you contradict showing how guilty you are of involvement.

This guy is a thug president. Y'all need to watch the night crawlers documentary on PBS!  He doesn't care about anything to do with the citizens. He is all about self aggrandizing and looting state resources.

Facebook has recently threatened to pull out of EUROPE because of a particular EU policy. They could afford it, at pitik lang tayo kumpara sa Europe.

You know which other country banned Facebook, controls their media, censors anything related to their government, and has a cyber army linked to the military? Obvious na kung kaninong mga yapak sinusundan nito. No other but....

Duterte's Cult should create their own platform. Maybe call it Fakebook? Lol!

And Emperor Gong Di just threw his troll army under the bus. Jobs are pretty hard to find during the COVID-19 pandemic, so let's just see what happens.

Should Manila Bay be compared as similar to Boracay?

When Vice Ganda tweeted about him going shopping, some Filipinos got triggered. When jinkee Pacquiao posted a pic of their Hermes bikes, some Filipinos got triggered. When Dora says that you haven't been to Boracay, some Filipinos got triggered. Am I seeing a pattern here?

People are pointing out that Dora during Sunday Palengke 's 5th episode made a statement that reeks elitism. People are asking why is it so hard to take the criticism when most of it naman are constructive. 

Is pointing out elitism tantamount to discrediting the influencer’s effort to educate? still not an excuse para sa elitist remark niya kung ang intention pala ay mag-inform, bakit all throughout the video puro pang-iinsulto lang ginawa niya? Did she not even try to elevate the political discourse?

They claim that all they we’re asking is that Dora acknowledges that the remark was classist. To apologize and learn from it.

Who’s cancelling or discrediting ba? Wala naman. People were just pointing out something.

I do have to disagree with the statement "bakit kailangan maging elitist matapobre to get a point across"

The guy in the Tiktok was making exaggerated comparisons and Dora just addressed it, right?

Well I don’t think he’s implying that y’all are poor if you haven’t been to Boracay.

I think he just wanted to express that DDS dolomite snorters have low standards and they’re praising white sand Manila Bay as if it’s a life changing government project.

Understandable that some find it offensive na some found the joke as an elitist remark but if you dig for the real context, it’s not really elitist but just an attack/rebuttal versus the DDS/the government.

Anyway I feel that this online bardagulan will die down agad.

I don't see anything wrong in the video. He's implying that the guy hasn't been to Boracay based on his statement comparing the two places.

It's clear that Dora was trying to attack the standard the guy has towards the Manila Bay's white sand and not the guy's capability to go to Boracay. Haters gonna hate, hahanap at hahanap ng butas para manira.

I am more offended by the guy comparing Manila Bay to Boracay. The fine, white and powder-like sand in boracay is shaking.

And Dora used a conditional statement, an "if" statement. So IDK what's the fuss about?

Yung Manila Bay ang shini-shade niya jusme. Yun ang subject ng video niya. Panuorin niyo kasi yung buong video. Do not hear words that were not said. He simply stated the truth. May 3 stations and island of Boracay, eh yung Manila Bay? Kung buhangin naman ang pag uusapan. Well..

Siguro kaya medyo offensive kasi parang derogatory? Just saying, if you match it with that tea sip and look from him, he would seem to be mocking the guy, but that's just me..and not from what he actually said.

Dora educates people of important social issues. Ignorant are those people who thinks highly of themselves and call people of intellect ignorant while they themselves are the real epitome of it.

Dora’s made countless elevated, informative posts (which is why she went viral in the first place) so it’s not fair to discredit all of that just because of 1 incident? She started all these to build awareness and the intention to inform in a light/funny way has always been there.

For the guy, sana kapag nag compare kasi huwag mag base sa picture. Mag base sa experience. Experience is better than Google or kuwento ng kapitbahay o tambay sa kanto o usapan sa barbero.

Lol. Like when certain people say Parang Singapore na tayo.

Dahil pang mayaman lang daw ang Boracay? 

Ahmm this is not an offensive remark, but Boracay is not, and not being promoted as, a luxury. Tourism industry knows. People from Region 6 & its neighbors just ride a bus or crosses the island to get there. There are more islands that are expensive and hard to get to / stay at.

Let’s face it though, status symbol ang pagpunta sa Boracay for most people....that is why Puerto Galera was called Little Boracay because it's more affordable to get and stay there.

Paano kung ang statement po is the other way around:

“...if you think that Boracay looks like Manila Bay, clearly (you) havent been to Manila Bay.”

Magiging elitist/classist din po kaya interpretation? 

Oh yes! It's crab mentality. I'm not surprised. A lot of Filipinos always put their fellow people down when they're on top. I don't know why people act like their lives are exacerbated because of other people's higher standard of living. Focus on your own life! Not others, OK!

Discovering I wasted monetization opportunities

This was my old YouTube channel Pinoy Tekkie ( http://www.YouTube.com/PinoyTekkie ) that I never monetized since back then it was just used to supplement my blog site. 

Surprised to see today that my highest viewed video reached 131k. Subscribers reached 1k+. Watch hours at 2.9 k, since it has no new videos since year 2015. So I still need 1.1k to make it to 4k hours to be eligible for monetization.

I created a new channel a few years ago to be consistent with my branding...and that is YTC: Wazzup Pilipinas ( http://www.YouTube.com/WazzupPilipinas ) which now has 38K+ subscribers and the video with the highest views is at 5.3 million.

Buhayin ko kaya at i-monetize itong luma? I actually forgot how to do it. Honestly, di ko pinapansin yung monetization of even my newer YouTube channel dahil again it was only just to supplement my blogsite which was my only focus.

Ngayon lang pandemic ako nagkaroon ng opportunity to peak into the inner workings of my YouTube channel.

I guess this Corona virus or Covid-19 is forcing us to adapt and evolve so I'm.now looking at every option possible to augment my source of earnings due to the loss of opportunities.
