#AcademicFreezeNOW Trends on Twitter

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Netizens voice their frustrations over online learning.

The hashtag #AcademicFreezeNOW trends on Twitter as they call to suspend the current school year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Academic freeze doesn't mean students don't want to study. They are all saying that ONLINE CLASSES IS NOT EFFECTIVE. They are doing everything just to understand the lessons and answer the activities at the same time pero wala akong natututunan.

Truth be told, they are not learning anything. They're just doing modules for the sake of complying and having grades.

This is not learning, this is just only complying to the requirements.

They don't know the struggle that students and teachers facing now. Shut up and stop fantasizing that online class and modular is okay.

Tapos poor Internet connection pa at hindi makajoin sa mga meeting where attendance will be checked.

Don't pull out that "we can adapt to the new normal" when it's not that easy. Take a semester off? Not that easy too. Students don't want to be left behind, but they don't want this kind of "new normal."

A student even resorted to selling their body just to afford education. Most of us students are not ready, even DepEd and CHED aren't.

"I don't want to stop but this is not what I want. I want to learn, with my classmates and other students. I want to finish this with them, I can't take the guilt of being privileged and watching them struggle just to finish this nonsense thing. "

Let’s face the fact that we are not fully equipped in this kind of educational setup. Whether it's online or modular, embrace the reality that the government has inefficient plans and those poorest of the poor are greatly affected by this pandemic.

DepEd/CHED,

If a student commits suicide because of the things that they cannot accomplish for their ol classes due to problems in mental or physical health, family, etc., will you take FULL RESPONSIBILITY of their death?

"Sobrang pressured ko na tapos ilang beses na akong nag mental breakdown."

"Ang daming gagawin tapos sabay-sabay pa."

"Wala na akong natututunan ang sakin lang ay makapasa."

Financial, Mental, Physical, Emotional

Lahat unstable.

Academic freeze is all we need periodt.

MTRCB wants to regulate Netflix and other VOD Platforms

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) eyes regulation of films and TV series on Netflix and other video-on-demand platforms.

MTRCB tells senators they want to regulate content on Netflix, other video streaming services.

"Stream services like Netflix are video-on-demand platforms. We have to regulate those platforms. We have to ensure that those materials being shown on those platforms are compliant with MTRCB laws," MTRCB Legal Affairs Division chief Jonathan Presquito said.

MTRCB is really pushing Filipinos to watch on pirated sites instead. As if regulating Netflix would stop these people from searching on illegal sites or torrents. Either they're stupid or bored out of their minds to suggest this.

It is such a useless, obsolete organization. Good luck trying to watch the tens of thousands of hours of content on Netflix alone.

Coincidence bang gusto ng MTRCB na i-regulate ang internet based media content now that ABS-CBN has fully made its platform online (Youtube and iWant-TFC)?

Shut the f*ck up whoever the f*ck you are. Your f*cking dumb ass has zero jurisdiction over the Internet. And if we’re talking about MTRCB laws, then ban the senile president from ever talking on TV.

Try rating and regulating first yung "the late night PDuts show" balita ko maraming inappropriate content and curses doon.

They have no respect for the intelligence of subscribers to determine what is good or immoral content. If they overdo their mandate, they should pay for our subscriptions.

We pay for the service. We, the subscribers, have full control of what we want the people in our households to see.  Having the MTRCB regulate it for us is curbing our rights as consumers.

The more prudent initiative would be to rate, not regulate. My generation of MTRCB Board Members were cognizant of the dangers of censorship. That’s why the rating system was established. We aimed to guide, not impose.

FYI MTRCB, if you're asking if they are "compliant", they have Parental Controls and have pin code system for profiles ages 18 below. Also, we are paying them and we can't control the Producer's or director's vision on the series or film.

If anything, this highlights how irrelevant and obsolete the MTRCB is. It remains Marcos-Era nonsense designed for censorship, and it should have been abolished long ago.

Reminder that MTRCB wants to use OUR taxpayer money to police and censor Netflix content. I don't see why rules will apply to Netflix but not YouTube or FB video streaming.

Just a reminder that the MTRCB was created by Marcos as a tool for censorship. It is a political entity. Many film/ TV industries self-regulate, and they don’t let the government do it for them (like the USA). It’s possible. In the Philippines for example, advertising self-regulates.

Basically, abolish the MTRCB. We don’t need them.

F*cking bimbos ruining everything. They’re getting stupid by the day.

United City Football Club’s announced that the club will be supporting the Department of Health’s #BIDASolusyon sa COVID-19 CAMPAIGN, which promotes four (4) basic principles in the agency’s fight against the dreaded COVID-19 virus.

The campaign stresses four (4) BIDA principles: Bawal walang mask, I-Sanitize ang mga kamay, Dumistansya ng isang metro and Alamin ang totoong impormasyon.

We at United City Football Club (UCFC), including our staff and our players, have committed to support the BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19 campaign of the Department of Health (DOH) by implementing the 4 BIDA principles into our daily routines”, states Eric M. “It is our responsibility as a football club to contribute to society, and we thank the DOH for allowing us to become the first professional sports team in the Philippines to join hands and to support BIDA. This is such an important initiative, and we as a Club will do everything we can to support the cause, and we hope that this will encourage many more sports teams and athletes to support their campaign,” ends Gottschalk.

United City Football Club (UCFC) will be incorporating the BIDA Solusyon Branding into their social media platforms, while the players will support the campaign via their own social media post.

All BIDA principles will be followed strictly by all members of the Club before, during and after its daily trainings at the National Training Center in Camona in preparation of the Philippines Football League 2020, which is anticipated to kick-off in early October

DOH Secretary Francisco T. Duque III shared, “The Department of Health extends our thanks to all our partners who help us ensure that our message: ‘Everyone could BIDA Solusyon’ is communicated to all, regardless of age, status or interest. We hope to partner with more organizations like United City FC in providing the public with the right information they need to stay safe and protected against COVID-19.”
