Wazzup Pilipinas!
Aside from the food, Rafael's Tapas Bar and Restaurant has an ambiance that's already worth the visit. The venue is visually appealing! If some are saying that we need to please all the senses for best appreciation, this restaurant has succeeded beyond expectations.
Those with the appreciation of fine arts and craftsmanship will love it here at Rafael's Tapas Bar and Restaurant.
From the ground floor fab interiors and decors, with all the artworks on display, and their luxurious bar, to the stairs going up to their golden toilet and VIP (aka Petronilla) room at the second floor....All areas are for selfie addicts to pose at while waiting for their food to be served...or before leaving the resto to add to their fond memories.
Thus I couldn't help myself in doing lots of selfies all over the resto after our lunch of stir-fried beef, followed by yummy Big Bang dessert and cappuccino coffee.
But this restaurant has made an extra effort to encourage potential customers to patronize them even during the quarantines brought about by the Covid-19. pandemic.
Aside from implementing all the health and safety protocols required by the government, it has organized a Live Cooking Show with Department of Tourism (DOT) National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Director Woodrow Maquiling Jr. in the afternoon of August 22, 2020.
You can check out our own livestream coverage broken down into three parts. We were there earlier to give you an overview of how it is right now at the resto, and to explain what will soon transpire, plus we had lunch too because we are equally missing the food at Rafael's.

Aside from the livestreams, there are more videos uploaded on both our Facebook personal and fan pages. I couldn't take photos while livestreaming so most of my photos in this blog was everything except the cooking part...But you can appreciate them on the livestreams.
Proud to have met and talked with the Regional Director and his staff covering his stint as a chef for the hour.
We were actually surprised seeing him livestreaming already while on his way into the restaurant. There was never a full moment listening to him as there was always that genuine love for what he was doing. Later on we found out that he grew fond of cooking due to the community quarantine where we all had the time to search inside us and let out a surprising discovery of ourselves.
It was two quick cooking of dishes - tapas and squid - which we ate later, together with other tasty dishes served by the resto.
Here's to more food tripping opportunities with him and his staff as we soon slowly ease our way out of this pandemic.
As he said on a Facebook post quoting a favorite writer and speaker Francs Kong, "The goal is to survive. This is not a dead end. Just a detour."
And I do believe this is also our chance to learn more about ourselves, whether it's our discovery of new talents on cooking, gardening, painting, etc., or having more time to bond with our loved ones.
Everything will contribute to improving and innovating ourselves for this "new normal".
