Wazzup Pilipinas!

Keen on making its mark as a rebranded club, United City Football Club (UCFC) has announced its new top-notch Head Coach, who is not a stranger at all to Asian Football.

British-Australian Trevor Morgan, a decorated football manager, who most recently headed the Bhutan National Team, won a number of silverware during his stint with the Indian Super League — Winning eight (8) trophies across three (3) seasons, including the Calcutta Cup in 2012-2013; and the Calcutta League in 2011-2013 and 2016-2017. He also led the Indian club East Bengal to reach the quarterfinals with an unbeaten record, during the 2013 AFC Cup, the first Indian club to do so.

Trevor served as Head Coach for Sorrento Soccer Club, in Western Australia, from 1997-2001, with the team ending as league champions and cup winners, among many other accolades the club gained for the very first time under his watch. He was also the Head Coach of Sengkang Punggol FC in Singapore, when the club became runners up during the Singtel League Cup in 2007.

Trevor also served as an Assistant Coach for Hull City FC, during the 2008-2009 season, making him the first Australian coach to work in the English Premiere League (EPL).

As a football player, he appeared in over four hundred (400) League and Cup games in the United Kingdom (UK), whilst scoring over two hundred (200) goals, plying his trade from 1980-1994.

According to Trevor Morgan, “I cannot wait to get onto the training field with the players and look forward to working with a group of high-quality players and staff. I have been given a wonderful opportunity to help take an already very successful team to the next level, and I will give everything I have to help improve our team and to further establish Philippine Football as a force to be reckoned within Asia.”

While United City Football Club (UCFC) co-founder Eric Gottschalk says, “His exposure to various leagues: From the English Football League, the English Premiere League, the Indian Super League, Singapore S-League, Western Australian State League, Malaysia Super Liga, to name a few, has prepared him very well for his new role as the Head Coach of United City Football Club (UCFC), which suits very well the ambition that this club has. We are excited and proud to have him on board, especially since the season is about to start. Trevor will bring the necessary experience onto the pitch to immediately get the team as best as possible competition ready, which considering the long COVID break is a key task in itself. We have high ambitions for the local league and the AFC Cup and we believe, Trevor is the right coach especially since he is no stranger to Asian football.”

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Former ONE Bantamweight World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon has conquered the greatest challenges inside the ONE Circle throughout his career. But no achievement could top a life milestone the 32-year-old mixed martial arts veteran recently experienced.

Just a couple of days ago, Belingon and wife Lee welcomed a beautiful and healthy baby girl into the world. Kelsey Belingon was born on Tuesday, 18 August at the Notre Dame De Chartres Hospital in Baguio City.

For Belingon, becoming a father was something he had always dreamed about. Needless to say, getting to hold his child in his arms for the first time was a moment he could not put into words.

“Of course, I was very excited because we have been waiting for this for quite some time. It is the best feeling I’ve ever experienced,” said Belingon.

“I was very excited to see our baby for the first time. The original plan was that I’m supposed to be with my wife during the delivery. But due to Covid-19, there were new restrictions, so I had to wait outside the delivery room. I just couldn’t wait to see our baby at that moment.”

Belingon is a ONE Championship veteran who has seen it all inside the ONE Circle. He is considered one of the pillars of the famed Team Lakay of Baguio City, and of Philippine mixed martial arts.

“The Silencer” reached the pinnacle of his professional mixed martial arts career when he unified the ONE Bantamweight World Championship with a split decision over Brazilian rival Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes in 2018.

The 32-year-old is currently on the comeback trail, making a case for another shot at the World Title with every victory. Now a new father, Belingon says he is motivated more than ever to resume his career and give his child the future she deserves.

“Family has always been my first priority. Having a child in that picture makes me level up my game as the head of the family,” said Belingon.

“I feel more motivated in everything in life right now, especially in providing a good future for our child.”

Belingon also joins the list of Team Lakay fathers that include former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang, ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Finalist Danny Kingad, and former ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje Eustaquio, among others.

Watch ONE: NO SURRENDER III on One Sports or One Sports+ at 8:30 p.m. Philippine Standard Time (PHT). Also, TV5 will air the event on a next-day delay at 11 p.m.

Isko Moreno Slams Establishments With Products Declaring Manila as Province of China

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno slammed the business establishment that described Manila as the “Province of China” on the packaging of one of its beauty products.

The city mayor immediately ordered the closure of the said store, and a few more doing the same.

"Hindi po natin papayagan na para bang inaangkin ang ating malayang bansa o ang Lungsod ng Maynila.

Ang Binondo ay bahagi ng Maynila. Ang Maynila ay bahagi ng Pilipinas. Ang Maynila ang kapitolyo ng bansa. Hindi ito probinsya ng China, at hindi kailanman naging bahagi ng China.

Hindi po ako governor ng China. Mayor po ako ng Maynila, Pilipinas. No way na harap-harapan niyong aalipustahin ang aming lungsod. Hangga't ako ang Mayor ng lungsod, you have no place here.

Big check, Yorme! Inangkin na nga nila karagatan natin tapos pati ba naman sarili nating lupa maghari-harian pa sila! Ayaw ninyo sumunod sa batas, layas at doon kayo sa bansa ninyo! Yorme to Chinese nationals in the Philippines: Follow our laws or face deportation.

Mabuhay ka, Yorme, sana dumami pa ang katulad mo na may paninindigan at pagmamahal sa bansa.

But I hate to break it to you, Yorme, pero yung mamang bastos sa Malacanang ang nangunang magsabi na Province of China tayo. Watchuganado about it Yorme? I like you so much but it's about time you cut ties with the madman in Malacanang.

Yorme Isko Moreno and Vico Sotto: two mayors of their respective cities are the real leaders of our country. We are so proud of them!
