DOH Slams Atty. Larry Gadon Over Face Mask Claim

Wazzup Pilipinas!

“If mask is really effective, how come there are more than 100,000 people afflicted with COVID? And more than 2,000 dead victims?"
- Larry Gadon

“Stupid is as stupid does.”
- Forrest Gump

Lawyer Larry Gadon, who became famous for his "bobo" remark, said face masks are ineffective as he reacted to viral photos where he was spotted wearing his face shield with a face mask taped behind it.

In October 2019, Gadon has reportedly been suspended from the practice of law for his "use of foul or intemperate language."

At that time, he was also facing at least four other disbarment complaints.

Vice President Leni Robredo also remarked “May nakita tayong model, mali po iyon. Huwag natin susundin.”

We have to thank her for the concern but I think it is a little hurtful to suggest that anyone will believe Gadon let alone follow his example. I don't think the good public deserves so low an estimation of its capacity for discernment.

Leni must be speaking to her followers....and not to those who took gasoline as mask disinfectant seriously. Some people need guidance at every turn.

Gadon’s personal choice of wearing his mask is his call. He does not impose it to anyone.

DOH issued a guidance on how to properly use masks.

The Department of Health slammed controversial lawyer Larry Gadon who recently claimed that wearing face masks outdoors can't prevent the spread of COVID-19. They are not laughing at Larry Gadon’s apparent disdain of wearing face masks, the cornerstone of the government’s fight against coronavirus.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reacted to lawyer Larry Gadon's statement that he doesn't believe in wearing masks and that it is "only for a show".

“This is not a joking matter. People know there are those who dying, getting sick, and that the economy is suffering."

"Sino ba ‘yung huling sasalo sa magkakasakit? Hospitals are having hard time already."

However, everytime I think that maybe law school isn't for me because I'm not good, smart and skilled enough, I look at Atty. Larry Gadon and tell myself anything is possible in this world.

If Larry Gadon can pass the bar exam, then you can do whatever you put your mind to.

If Larry Gadon can’t even detect his own fallacies and ad hominems and he’s a lawyer, y’all woke bitches in law school might have a chance and be a damn better lawyer and servant than this crook.

Can everyone just please stop giving Gadon the time of day. He’s irrelevant, stupid, and ugly and I’m so tired of seeing his face on my feed.

At the risk of implicating myself I just wanna say na lahat kayong nagpakalat ng Larry Gadon memes nung sumikat siya, I blame you for giving this man some semblance of clout and bringing the average IQ of the country down several notches.

Gadon violated the health and safety protocols as set up by DOH. There are still bobos and blind citizens who mght follow the cool fashion set by Gadon, to the detriment of the health conscious public.

Regardless of Gadon's personal beliefs, the IATF requires people to wear face masks.

In July, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the police to arrest people found not wearing them

So are we seeing any arrest soon?

Atty. Larry Gadon may be pro-admin but I must disagree with him on the mask issue. Masks are crucial. It is also important that we wear them PROPERLY and CONSISTENTLY.

No paranoia or fear. Just science.

I was just to read up on the process of disbarment because of the recent embarrassment brought upon by human disaster, Larry Gadon, but it looks like many will be beating me to it.

Another proof that titles, honorifics, or being seasoned in whatever do not guarantee human decency.

What Larry Gadon does not understand is that his decision not to wear a face mask impacts not just his OWN health but that of countless people around him.

#JusticeForZaraAlvarez: Bacolod-based Human Rights Defender Zara Alvarez Assassinated

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"If helping the poor is a crime & fighting for freedom is rebellion, then I plead guilty as charged." - Zara Alvarez

Zara Alvarez, a Bacolod-based human rights defender, was killed by unknown assailants at around 8 p.m. on August 17, 2020, in Eroreco Subdivision, Mandalagan Village, Bacolod in Negros Occidental.

Zara, 39, was a former political prisoner and continued to work as a paralegal for Karapatan after her release.

Negros activist Zara Alvarez had always been targetted by the military who considered her a terrorist . Yesterday, she was killed by an assassin.

#JusticeForZaraAlvarez is making rounds online.

A paralegal for human rights group Karapatan, Zara Alvarez is the second activist killed in a span of two weeks after Randy Echanis was found dead in a rented house in Quezon City last August 10.

So much happened. Randy Echanis was laid to rest and Zara Alvarez was killed. These are people who fought against injustice & lost their lives to it. But don't let them put a target on your back. Fight.

In a span of two weeks, two human rights and land rights defenders were killed.

Randy Echanis was tortured then killed in his own home. Zara Albarez was gunned down.

Nasaan ang hustisya?

Remember when Cayetano, Dela Rosa, and Roque "ensured" that the draconian Anti-Terror Law would not endanger and threaten our fellow activists and dissenters?

They said we need not be worry about the Anti-Terror Law but this is what’s happening—activists are being hunted and gunned down like stray animals, and no one is being held accountable?

Even if you haven't personally met those who have sacrificed and served the people throughout their lives in the movement, one's loss is deeply felt by many.

Though it doesn’t mean that Duterte or his minions did the killings. Some people will kill their own people to dirt someone else’s. He may have a foul mouth and the others may be timid, but you can’t say who’s who just because of what they show outside.

Maybe not or maybe it is? Targetting solely activists and human rights defenders is a clear pattern done by the elements of the state forces. He may not have done the killing directly but he definitely has his fair share of blood in his hands.

I’m crying, choking, chuckling, writhing, angry, outraged, shocked, and speechless

They are more than a statistic. Their work and passion for Human Rights is known worldwide.

Like Echanis, Alvarez was among the more than 600 individuals the Department of Justice looked to label as terrorists through a petition filed before the Manila Regional Trial Court last February 2018.

Sino ba ang tunay na terorista? ang may hawak ng panawagan o ang may hawak ng baril? you may have killed her, but her voice will continue to echo the streets and the Filipino people will have her back.

DEFEND HUMAN RIGHTS! DEMAND JUSTICE!

And We're Back to GCQ, Good Luck Philippines!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

IATF recommends placing Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal back to GCQ.

We’re back to GCQ, despite the fact that cases are rising. Anyhow, doesn’t matter what classification we’re in. Nothing has changed and nothing has been done. Might as well continue with our lives. Pray and be careful.

Dear Leader Rodrigo Duterte said his piece.

1. Back to GCQ
2. Droga
3. Fuck you
4. Always and forever, Bong Go

Now the real question is, did they formulate a new plan during the MECQ that will help us fight this virus or did we just waste another 2 weeks?

Call me selfish, but I rather go back to GCQ coz:

1. There are no concrete plans.
2. People will still go out no matter the quarantine status is.
3. People (especially those who lose their jobs) are suffering.

Because w/ the corruption & inefficient people in govt we can't expect people to be on lockdown for too long. best to just take extra precaution. Continue observing health and safety protocols - wearing masks, disinfecting, distancing even as economy reopens.

Agree. Virus is there. Prolonged lockdowns won’t do good. Would just make worst in every aspect.

I'm not sure of the actual pattern but on observation on cases here and abroad thru friends, it seems the strain of virus while becoming more infectious seems less lethal compared to Feb to early June. Or maybe I'm just diverting away from death announcements. Hope they study it.

The 2 weeks MGCQ was a complete waste! You know the drill. It’s not yet safe outside. Please be careful. Always follow protocols, wear your masks with your faceshields, drink your vitamins, and if it’s not necessary, avoid going out and please pray.

As usual, the IATF wants NCR to go back to GCQ to open the economy again, with mention on enhanced testing, but no mention on how they plan to help our overworked medical frontliners & the rising poverty among poor communities.

Hayyy bakit laging kakarampot ang usad?

NCR with rising cases averaging 3, 500 to 4,000 per day. It’s premature to revert back to GCQ and lose the gains of MECQ which ideally ECQ was requested by medical community. MECQ extension is ideal till August 31. One time big time and build up health capabilities.

Kaso, wala talagang mangyayari pa rin if the government has no specific plan on how to lessen the cases. We're just gonna kill our economy, and in the process kill ourselves too.

So I hope our immune systems are up to it. Good luck, Philippines!
