Why You Must Stop Hiring Celebrity Endorsers

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The disadvantage of regular bloggers/vloggers with celebrity bloggers/vloggers? They have the funds to have top gadgets, they can hire other people to edit or improve their works ,(photo, video, music), or do almost everything for them. They could even pay to boost their posts and engagements.
In short, celebrities do not mostly do the actual.job but they get away with it.

The advantage? Regular bloggers are more truthful. Celebrities mostly fake it. They exaggerate, and twist their stories to make their clients look good. Just like the morning shows where everywhere they go, and everything they ate are all good and none had any negative traits.

Real bloggers/vloggers would squeeze the truth out of the persons they are interviewing, and their features would normally be their personal efforts...not done by a Personal Assistant or boosted by a Social Media Manager.

One time there was this female celebrity who didn't even know the proper usage of a product she was endorsing. She was making a mess with her claims during the media launch. It had to take a press release a few days after to correct her claims.

This was because celebrities usually accept endorsement jobs because they either get paid and/or pampered with products or services, and other perks that ordinary bloggrrs/vlogger wouldn't normally receive. They would accept every opportunity that comes their way, regardless if they are a patron of the brand or not.

Along with many irregularities like recruiting an already white complexioned individual to endorse a whitening soap, a fit and slim guy to endorse donuts, a rich dude to endorse canned sardines, etc., getting celebrities as endorsers makes you unbelievable that people will just find you hilarious.

There would still be the ever so gullible fans, but those stupid enough to believe are mostly those unable to buy the products or services on a regular basis. and the fans who.support get financed to keep followers at bay especially when wanting to have a viral or trending post. Yup, celebrities usually have a "call center" setup that gather together to make it appear the celebrity is popular.

This is why smart advertisers hire new faces to  stsr in their ads or commercials. They are more relatable because you don't imagine the celebrity from her previous stints in a TV series or movie. You identify yourself with the new and more convincing face.

I know many are still gullible, but the learned upper class will find you offensive to their intelligence if you keep using celebrity endorsers just to capitalize on their popularity rather than confidently putting out the strengths of your brand to get attention.

A good product does not need a celebrity endorser who is only after the money and not sincerely advocating for the superiority of your brand.

Just as nrands would quickly drop a celebrity if they become too inappropriate to the image they are trying to project, celebrity endorsers would always go for the highest talent fee offer.

Trabaho lang at walang personalan.

Trash the SOGIE Bill, No to Special Treatment, Yes to Equality

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We don't need new laws for the LGBTQIA+ community.

They seek acceptance from straight people but they themselves have not accepted who they were.

Huwag po tayong maging kunsintidor sa kanilang naging kahinaan. Not accepting their original gender was already a sign of their weakness. They've given up on their true selves and instead trying to live a life of fantasy. Because no matter what they do, they remain male in the eyes of many, including God, if ever they believe in a Lord almighty.

We continue to encourage them to give up their true selves if we keep on identifying them as special or treating them as real women.

Nevertheless, for mutual peace of mind, we accepted them. We have witnessed them excel in many industries. We congratulated them for their achievements. We were proud of them for working hard in reaching their ultimate goals.

Yet that hunger for more perks is not good at all.Forcing us by a threatening law would only hinder the acceptance once accorded. It will only put us both in an uncomfortable situation.

I have friends belonging to the same community but I don't see many of them making noise to be accorded special privileges. Only those with aggressive personalities are joining the call for the law. Only those who tend to gain are twisting the arms of everyone else they meet. Only those who have friends of the same call are joining the bandwagon.

Many just follow the existing law. They don't cry foul because they know that total transition will not immediately take place. Patience is the key. Acceptance should not be forced.

Just continue proving to society that you are worthy and please cleanse your community from the likes of Vice Ganda and his foul style of humor. We do not appreciate making fun of the shortcomings of others as a form of comedy. He only brings down the image of the LGBT community. He is there only as a comedian. Nothing more. We laught at him, not with him.

Be enlightened. Equality means having to follow the same law and not drafting a new one exclusive to a few. That clamor for SOGIE BILL is called demanding for special treatment! That is called trying to gain an advantage over the majority who are seen as straight and mentally balanced.

Lastly, stop using your influence to wrongly steer people towards the wrong direction. I know you mean well but look at the bigger picture. Look at the rights of the majority who have been considerate enough to accept the irregularities yet are now facing scrutiny for believing on what God has intended.

Stop dividing us when we are already on the verge of unification. If you seek equality, stop identifying yourselves as a special case.

Sasabihin nila na discriminated sila pero pansinin ninyo, most of the people they prefer to work with are their fellow LGBTs. In a company led by an LGBT, majority of the people they will hire are of their kind o kaya ay babae, liban na lang kung guapo ang aplikante. Less priority kapag straight.

Sino ngayon ang nag di discriminate?

UMak Bags 6 Gawad Alternatibo Prizes

Wazzup Pilipinas!

University of Makati recently won five awards in the animation division and another prize in the documentary category of the 31st Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

“Noli” by Rodnie Bolivar, Sean Harold Bongalon and Xierdon Manalo led UMak by bringing home Best Entry For/On/By Children and an additional honorable mention award. It tells the story of a naughty boy who does not want to take a bath until evil germs appear in his dream to teach him a lesson. It earlier topped the 19-21 age category of the second Manila Student Film Festival and was a finalist at the Philippine Animation Festival or Animahenasyon 2018.

Other UMak works which got honorable mention are “7.17” by Jennifer Aspiras, “Bagabag” by Haidee Salanguste and Shelon Dianela, Jr., “Sober” by Rhexee Jeen Balgua, Christian Daniel Fabia and Kevin Collin Ramis, and the documentary “Roc 6” by Joycelyn May Estacion.

“Roc 6,” which is about hydrocephalus-stricken rapper and spoken word artist Vladimir Igman Tarubal, earned the nod of documentary judges Jewel Maranan, Ilang-Ilang Quijano and Victor Tagaro. It previously won second prize in the “dokyUMAKati: Heronaya, Pasinaya ng Kuwentong Pilipino” competition held last January at the UMak mini-theater.

Meanwhile, “7.17” tells the story of a father who works hard to give his son a simple birthday party. Even though he encounters problems along the way, he comes up with something out of his meager income for the day. However, back home, his son has other plans in mind.

“Bagabag,” on the other hand, shows that a life consumed with anxiety is never easy.

In “Sober,” Winona spends most of her time getting drunk and wasted as she is haunted by her past. The five-minute animation earlier won Animation of the Year (Student Division), Best in Storytelling and Best in Production Design at Animahenasyon 2018.

The honorable mention winners got 5,000 pesos each while the production team behind “Noli” received an additional 5,000 pesos for their special prize.

The judges in the animation division, namely University of the Philippines Film Institute professor Bryan Quesada, visual artist Rosevie C. Sevilla, and multidisciplinary artist, cultural worker and teacher Teta Tulay, only gave out honorable mention awards, no first, second and third prizes. The other winners are Ateneo de Naga University student Philex Angelo Merano’s “Work in Progress,” which also got Best Regional Entry, and Carl Joseph E. Papa’s “Pot.”

UMak College of Arts and Letters Dean Mary Acel German dedicated their victory to the late UMak Pres. Tomas B. Lopez. “who in 2001 believed that a logistically-nightmarish Animation and Broadcast Arts curriculum could propel what used to appear as run-of-the-mill university to greater distance; one who best understood our needs and tolerated our eccentricities; one who insisted only for the best and the state-of-the-art; and one who threw tantrums on our behalf when we grew tired of the regulative systems.”
