Wazzup Pilipinas!
Spas have continued to be among the Health and Wellness options that is being actively promoted as an attraction to boost our campaign on Philippine tourism.
Well, why not? The country has a lot of them all over the busy cities and municipalities, and are naturally needed by most of us, if not all, to revitalize our otherwise lavishly unhealthy lifestyle of eat-all-you-cans, unlirice, buffets, milk teas, junk and instant food, and our dependence on escalators, elevators, taxis, Grab rides, home deliveries, online shopping, etc.
We simply are getting fat and lazy with all these convenience that our bodies, and minds, have lost the motivation to exert some muscles and keep our brain cells alive and functioning respectively.
Thus my wife and I are grateful we were given an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of pampering with a Moroccan Bath plus a full body massage at Al Amirah Moroccan Bath & Spa just located near Timog Avenue in Quezon City!
Our Moroccan Bath consisted of three procedures. First of which was with therapists bathing us with water and Savon Noir (black soap with Olive oil and berries), then steamed for 15 minutes inside a steam room. After that was the full body scrub bit only usimg the same black soap and not the coffee, salt or other alternatives normally done in the usual body scrubs.
The experience was refreshing though slightly amusing since you are wearing nothing but shorts while the therapist work on your entire body. My wife was just wearing a very skimpy and see-through panty, and yes no bra, so I could see her breasts fully exposed. Yup, we were bathed together inside the steam room, but separated during the last procedure of the Moroccan Bath.
Obviously I won't be able to post photos here since we were both almost naked. Those images of our bulging bodies may ruin your day. Hehehe...Yet, eventhough I want to, I can't bring cameras or smartphones inside the steam or body scrub rooms since steam and water would just ruin my gadgets, and not clear photos too.
After the Moroccan Bath, we also got to try their soothing Swedish full body massage which is anothet 1-hour of relaxing procedure. You choose among soft, medium or hard madsage and the therapist will customize her efforts based on your requests.

This is not my first time to get a madsage so I could compare already, but the Moroccan Bath was also similar to another experience at a bigger spa. However, the modest Al Amirah already satisfied our needs to be pampered.
We saw ourselves a bit drowsy at the end since you will be tempted to sleep afterwards. The refreshing feeling makes you want to doze off to sleep the rest of the afternoon. You can see on my video interview with their staff that I was a bit sluggish since that was just minutes after the entire pampering process.
But I had to wake up because I'll be driving back home. Thanks to the house tea they offered at the end of the sessions that sort of brought us back to reality.
