Tips On How To Keep Etiquette On The Internet In A Corporate Email

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Most e-mail accounts registered in the world are for end users, but the number of corporate accounts is very high and everyone working in the second sector has coexistence with their use. Corporate email is a subject that shares opinions, so Email Etiquette Training selected a number of tips for you that send and receive this type of email daily.

Be polite in regards to greeting and farewell

So you avoid looking rude and demanding. Most of the time you do not even know the person to whom you sent the message yourself, so do not think of email as a simple SMS, but rather as a letter.

Keep  the tone casual

You are sending an email to humans, not to robots. However, do not be too casual. Always calibrate the level of formality; sending an email to the president of a company against an email to your best friend has a big difference in the degree of formality, both for the content they share and for the recipient. In both cases, rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation still apply. If you do not have time to use the spell checker, people will not take you seriously.

Do not write a bible

E-mail should be a quick and effective way to communicate, so be sure to write exactly as you write. No one wants to read a giant e-mail when they could receive the message in a short, gentle paragraph.

Avoid writing under pressure or other emotion

If you feel shaken by something, move away from the computer, take the time to relax before writing, because if you use CAPS LOCK, people will think you're screaming. DO NOT WANT TO APPEAR TO BE SCREAMING, EITHER? Also, you should not use all lowercase letters because that sounds kind of silly. If you have to emphasize something, use bold or italic .

Do not use colored background images
If you want your message to be readable, do not decorate your email. Also, do not use more extravagant fonts, stay in standard fonts to keep it simple, clean and easy to read.

Do not send anything that is compromising

Email is not private. People are fired all the time for sending out unsuitable e-mail as corporate e-mail is considered the property of the company. Remember that what is published on the Internet is on the Internet, and the same applies with electronic mail

Do not send large files without asking first

People have different preferences on how to receive files - some want an attached file, some want it to be copied and pasted into the body of the message. If one wants the attached files, it is better to separate the files into several emails instead of inserting them into a single message because it will take a long time to be sent.

Do not assume a tone that people can misinterpret

People can not hear the sound of your voice while reading what is written, unfortunately. If you try to be sarcastic, a lot of people will take it the wrong way. This is also not to use emoticons - use them very rarely, remember you want to maintain a professional look.

If you are sending emails through your computer or a smartphone, follow these rules and everything you write will look professional and polite.

Commercenter Alabang to Stage BIZ KIDS 2019 for Kiddie Entrepreneurs

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Coming from the success of the first event in 2018, premier lifestyle hub Commercenter Alabang is bringing back BIZ KIDS, a first-of-its-kind fair in the south that gives budding young entrepreneurs a platform to market their self-made products. This year’s event is slated on May 18-19, 2019, at the mall’s ground floor activity area.

Exclusive to business-minded kids aged 5 to 12, BIZ KIDS aims to encourage, enable, and
empower the next generation of Filipino entrepreneurs by letting them showcase and sell products they made themselves — from food items like desserts and snacks, to handicrafts and arts, and even personal care stuff.

“Last year, we were really amazed at the products and ideas that the participating kids brought to the event,” shares Leslie Tagle-Dinglasan, Asst. Vice President for Marketing of Commercenter Alabang. “We hope to see more of that same creativity and entrepreneurial flair from the kids who are joining us this 2019.”

BIZ KIDS supports young entrepreneurs by providing expo space for two days free-of-charge. “It takes a lot to start and sustain a business, so we’re helping them out in this aspect,” adds Tagle-Dinglasan. “This way, they can really focus on making their products, and they can also think of creative ways to sell them there.”

At the end of the two-day event, the most promising young entrepreneurs and
mini-ventures will be recognized at the BIZ KIDS AWARDS.

• Most Innovative Biz, which will be given to the young entrepreneur with the most
unique product and presentation;

• Best Booth Design, which will be rated on creativity, resourcefulness, and branding;
and Sales Genius, which will honour each of the highest-selling mini-ventures for the
categories of Food: Desserts, Food: Snacks, Handicrafts, and Arts.

“The adage goes, ‘start them young,’ and that’s exactly what BIZ KIDS is about,” quips
Tagle-Dinglasan. “We want the kids to get a taste of real-world business exposure at an early age through the event.”

She further adds that beyond learning basic business concepts, they also want to instill in the participating young entrepreneurs the values of hard work, discipline, and determination, which will be crucial to their future success regardless of the field they choose to pursue. “For us, that’s the biggest takeaway these kids can have from the event, and we hope that’s what they gain from their BIZ KIDS experience.”

Registration to BIZ KIDS is open with limited slots available. Biz ventures may be
registered under an individual, partners, or groups of three, granted that all entrepreneurs are aged 5 to 12. And to ensure that no two participants are selling the same products, applications will be screened.

To register, young entrepreneurs must submit the following requirements via email to Bea Malacaman at bea.malacaman@stratmindsevents.com: (1) completed registration form, available
for download on: tinyurl.com/bizkids2, (2) photo/s of the applicant/s, (3) business logo, if available, and (4) product photos. Shortlisted applicants will be notified via email and SMS, and the final list of selected participants will be announced on Commercenter’s Facebook page
(www.facebook.com/commercenter) on April 30, 2019.

BIZ KIDS 2019 is presented by Commercenter Alabang, and is supported by media partners theAsianParent Philippines, Manila For Kids, CNN Philippines, Pop Life TV, YUNEOH.COM, ClickTheCity.com, WhatsHappening.PH, WazzupPilipinas.com, MomCenter, The Parenting Emporium, Mommy Practicality, Mommy Unwired, Mommy Levy and Bazaar Whisperer.

President Manuel Roxas’ 71st Death Anniversary Marked Today

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Today, April 15, 2019, is the 71st death anniversary of President Manuel A. Roxas, the last President of the Commonwealth and the first President of the new Republic of the Philippines.

Born on January 1, 1892 to Gerardo Roxas, Sr. and Rosario Acuña in Capiz, Capiz (now Roxas City), Roxas distinguished himself as our country’s first ever bar topnotcher and the only Filipino leader to have ever held and exercised authority in the capacity of House Speaker, Senate President, and President of the Republic.

He finished law in 1913 from the University of the Philippines College of Law, and passed the bar the same year. His entire political career spans 31 years beginning with his appointment as member of his hometown’s municipal council in 1917, and highlighted by his holding the highest office of the land from May 28, 1946 to April 15, 1948.

Roxas is distinctly known in Philippine history for his exemplary leadership and dedication to public service. Inheriting a country in ruins when he took over the reins of government at the end of World War II, this “nation builder” spurred our country’s return to normalcy and growth with his master economic plan, the very first known in developing Asia.

The great leader Claro M. Recto claimed that with “the extreme brevity of time fate was to allot to him”, which was barely 23 months into office, no other ruler with such talent and industry could have achieved as much as President Roxas did. In one year of office, President Roxas has provided a leadership which restored national vitality and safely bridged the critical transition period from Commonwealth status to Republic.

The late President’s legal mentor and first dean of the UP College of Law George Malcolm believed that few of Roxas’ generation approached him in brilliancy of mind, in breadth of information, and in gift of charm. The late President’s talent was notably evident in pioneer planning in the financial and economic fields. Malcolm wrote “Withal, Roxas was passionately devoted to his country. So honest was he in administering the important positions entrusted to him that, on occasions, he was in financial distress. Roxas died a poor man.”

The most profound tribute ever paid Roxas would come from the late President Manuel L. Quezon when he wrote to General MacArthur: “The news that Roxas has fallen in the hands of the enemy has almost broken me completely for I suspect that after his insistent refusal to be the President of the Philippines the Japanese have murdered him. But oh, how proud I am of him! I almost envy him for he had occasion to do what I wanted to do for myself — to tell the Japanese that we want nothing from them. If Roxas has been murdered he is the greatest loss that the Filipino people have suffered on this war. He can’t be replaced. And I don’t know how long this race will produce another Manuel Roxas.”

President Manuel A. Roxas succumbed to a heart attack on April 15, 1948 at Clark Field, Pampanga.
