Make Your Own Cafe Opens First Branch in Quezon.City

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I just came from the grand opening of Make Your Own Cafe located at Mayon street in Quezon City. The supposedly first branch of this new cafe brand is just right infront of the Suki Market.

Make Your Own or MYO Cafe offers "unli-sinkers" , including home-made pearls, on their milk teas, plus other drinks like coffee, blended ice, fruit teas, cheese + teas, fizzy pops, and a variety of snacks from cheesy nachos to deep-fried favorites like flavored fries, twister fries, wedges, chicken poppers, and also an assortment of cakes and muffins.

I've learned that the pearls only last a day when cooked and around 3 days when uncooked thus you are assured that they do serve freshly-made pearls for their milk teas.

Conveniently located just infront of busy Suki Market, its "industrial" theme could attract most people especially the Millennials like students or young entrepreneurs looking for an alternative place to hang-out, work on their studies or innovative projects, while enjoying good food and drinks at affordable prices.

True enough, one customer even ordered 20 milk teas on opening day, and almost all their muffins were sold out too. An indication that the owners picked the right place to setup business...or they picked the rigyt products to sell. In any case, if we are to base it on.my own experience, my wife and I would always eat and drink after going to the market, and milk teas are among my favorite drinks, so it could mean they did a very good product and location study.

Free Wi-Fi Internet coming up hopefully soon as it is an integral necessity needed for research and keeping always well-connected and informed nowadays.

Michael Tan, the co-owner, shared that this is just the first of their 10-branch target for the year...and that the brand is open for franchise opportunities too. 3 branches already eyed soon including one in UST. Alam na mga Tomasians!

Check them out soon and compare the taste of their drinks and snacks with the other brands. You might find your new favorites here.

More information coming up soon at Wazzup Pilipinas Facebook page.

PNR Clark Phase 2 (Malolos-Clark) Catching up with Phase 1 (Tutuban-Malolos)

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Following the groundbreaking for the 38-km. Tutuban-Malolos segment of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project last February 15, the Pre-Bid Conference for the first three Civil Works Contract Packages of the NSCR’s 53-km. Malolos-Clark segment was held last March 7 at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Pasig City.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR), through the Project’s procuring agent, the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM), conducted the Pre-Bid Conference for Contact Packages N-01 to N-03, which covers 44.8-km. and 5 stations from Malolos, Bulacan to the Clark Freeport Zone.

Bidding Documents for these packages were published last January 30 in the websites of the DOTr, PNR, PhilGEPS, and the ADB. The Invitation for Bids was also published in most national broadsheets, as well as in the International Railway Journal and the Railway Gazette International.

Attended by 21 companies from 7 ADB Member Countries and representatives from 4 Embassies, the Pre-Bid Conference provided a venue for interested bidders to seek clarifications on the bidding documents launched last January 30.

The Civil Works Contract Packages will be financed by the ADB, following ADB’s Guidelines for Procurement of Works, through Open Competitive Bidding.

Two more ADB-financed Civil Works Contract Packages will be launched by 2nd Quarter 2019, while the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) financed Electromechanical Systems and Rolling Stock (trains) Contract Packages will be launched soon after.

“We invite everyone to lend us their trust and lend us their support. And, together, we are very excited to building something that all of us, all parties, everyone from our lenders, consultants, contractors, can be proud of. The instruction of our President and our Secretary is very simple, that is to deliver a more comfortable life to every Filipino, and we would like to invite you to be a part of that, as we look forward to the Golden Age of Infrastructure,” Undersecretary Batan said.

For his part, GM Magno expressed the government’s thrust to keep the pre-bid process transparent and fair.

“This is the largest railway project the Philippines has embarked on since 1917. It has never been duplicated. We want this pre-bid process to be open, we want it to be fair, we want it to be equitable, and this will be pioneered as the biggest project that you will ever have in the next five years,” GM Magno said.

PNR Clark Phase 2 will feature the country's first airport express railway service, which will connect passengers from Manila to Clark International Airport in less than an hour.

One of the largest projects in the Duterte Administration's Build Build Build Program, the 147-kilometer, 37-stations NSCR System will seamlessly integrate the 38-km. Tutuban-Malolos segment, the 53-km. Malolos-Clark segment, and the 56-km. Manila-Calamba segment, connecting 26 cities and municipalities across the regions of Central Luzon, NCR, and CALABARZON.
