PNR Clark Phase 2 (Malolos-Clark) Catching up with Phase 1 (Tutuban-Malolos)

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Following the groundbreaking for the 38-km. Tutuban-Malolos segment of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project last February 15, the Pre-Bid Conference for the first three Civil Works Contract Packages of the NSCR’s 53-km. Malolos-Clark segment was held last March 7 at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Pasig City.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR), through the Project’s procuring agent, the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM), conducted the Pre-Bid Conference for Contact Packages N-01 to N-03, which covers 44.8-km. and 5 stations from Malolos, Bulacan to the Clark Freeport Zone.

Bidding Documents for these packages were published last January 30 in the websites of the DOTr, PNR, PhilGEPS, and the ADB. The Invitation for Bids was also published in most national broadsheets, as well as in the International Railway Journal and the Railway Gazette International.

Attended by 21 companies from 7 ADB Member Countries and representatives from 4 Embassies, the Pre-Bid Conference provided a venue for interested bidders to seek clarifications on the bidding documents launched last January 30.

The Civil Works Contract Packages will be financed by the ADB, following ADB’s Guidelines for Procurement of Works, through Open Competitive Bidding.

Two more ADB-financed Civil Works Contract Packages will be launched by 2nd Quarter 2019, while the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) financed Electromechanical Systems and Rolling Stock (trains) Contract Packages will be launched soon after.

“We invite everyone to lend us their trust and lend us their support. And, together, we are very excited to building something that all of us, all parties, everyone from our lenders, consultants, contractors, can be proud of. The instruction of our President and our Secretary is very simple, that is to deliver a more comfortable life to every Filipino, and we would like to invite you to be a part of that, as we look forward to the Golden Age of Infrastructure,” Undersecretary Batan said.

For his part, GM Magno expressed the government’s thrust to keep the pre-bid process transparent and fair.

“This is the largest railway project the Philippines has embarked on since 1917. It has never been duplicated. We want this pre-bid process to be open, we want it to be fair, we want it to be equitable, and this will be pioneered as the biggest project that you will ever have in the next five years,” GM Magno said.

PNR Clark Phase 2 will feature the country's first airport express railway service, which will connect passengers from Manila to Clark International Airport in less than an hour.

One of the largest projects in the Duterte Administration's Build Build Build Program, the 147-kilometer, 37-stations NSCR System will seamlessly integrate the 38-km. Tutuban-Malolos segment, the 53-km. Malolos-Clark segment, and the 56-km. Manila-Calamba segment, connecting 26 cities and municipalities across the regions of Central Luzon, NCR, and CALABARZON.

Buying a New Smartphone at the Globe Online Shop

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I just had the spare time to exploring the Globe Online Shop to look for possible new gadgets for my travel opportunities.

Surprised that there are even apparels avsilable here aside from just the gadgets, accessories, or broadband/postpaid/prepaid plans.

"Whether you’re in the market for a broadband or postpaid plan, or looking for some new clothes and gadgets, this is the place to be. Shop for the latest promos and offers from Globe"

It's a place to hunt for discounts up to 50% off on new prepaid phones, sales, rebates, freebies and some of the best online deals in the Philippines with Globe.

Now tempted to purchase the new Samsung Galaxy S10+. It's available for P1499 per month with a cashout of P31200...and free shipping! or an option to picknit up from a Globe Store.

My total order is P32699.

After clicking on checkout, I was taken to the application page to choose whether it's a new postpaid or an additional line, and to fill up other personal information like name, email address and contact number. Even additional information and employment details.

And lastly was the shipping and payment details. However, the only options for payments are COD, Debit, Credit Card, or GCash. They should add Paypal payments since it's the universally accepted payment for all my online transactions with clients from different parts of the country, thus the bulk of my money is in Paypal.

Continuing, they will also ask you to upload certain documents like proofs of identification, billing address and financial capability.

The online portal is an innovative alternative to apply for the new phone line since it saves you from the hassle of physically being there at their stores though, as mentioned earlier, they should add more payment facility to maximize sale opportunities especially for those like us who live and breathe (transact, haggle, pitch, propose, counter-offer, etc) dealing with clients in the online or virtually connected world.

However, I believe expanding the payment options will be one of the futute plans for the site. Ibtrust that they've already considered that option along with other developments.
