More Educators Embracing Independent, Dynamic Learning

Wazzup Pilipinas!

DLP advocates to train more teachers, school officials

Students from more than 300 public and private schools nationwide have reportedly been performing better academically after adopting the Dynamic Learning Program (DLP).

The platform uses parallel learning groups, activity-based multi-domain learning, in-school comprehensive student portfolio, and strategic study and rest periods, making it a disaster-resilient form of education that helps schools cope and recover more effectively after natural or man-made calamities.

Developed by Ramon Magsaysay awardees and theoretical physicists Dr. Christopher Bernido and Dr. Ma. Victoria Carpio-Bernido, DLP promotes independent learning in students to primarily improve academic performance in areas such as Science, Innovative Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Upcoming free training

In order for more educators to learn about DLP and how to implement it in more schools, there will be a training on November 8-9, 2018, Thursday-Friday, at the Gerry Roxas Training and Convention Center in Cubao, Quezon City.

Registration to the two-day training is free, as food, materials, and expert trainers’ fees will all be provided by program sponsors. Transportation and hotel accommodations will be under each attendee’s personal expense.

DLP is best implemented in formal Junior and Senior high schools, as well as Alternative Learning System (ALS) schools.  Because of this, 1-2 representatives are advised to be from the following: Formal Junior and Senior High School – Division Superintendent, Principal, Subject Matter Expert, Teacher; and ALS Schools - Curriculum Implementation Division Chief, Education Program Supervisor, Instructional Manager, Mobile Teacher.

The DLP Training Program will be divided into two parts: Day 1 – Orientation, Day 2 – Immersion to an actual DLP-practicing school, and Writeshop.  Both training days will be full of interactive activities. Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the program.

Advocate academic excellence

The DLP Training is in partnership withSmart Communities, the community service and corporate social responsibility program of Smart Communications, Inc., as it is in line with the group’s mission to advocate academic excellence and improve the level of education in the Philippines.
