Color Manila Apology Letter to Cosplayers

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Color Manila, fun run organizer, has issued a letter of apology to the cosplayers they invited to participate for free at their recent Marvel Run held at the Mall of Asia complex last Saturday, July 7, 2018.

Apparently, cosplayers were disgrubtked over how they were mistreated or given lesser importance as they were left behind, with not even water, before, during, and after the rain even somehow ruined the fun run.

The cosplayers were there dressed up as popular Marvel superheroes to give more color to the fun run, and to cheer up the runners as they go through the task of completing the track.

However, from the moment they were picked up using a closed door truck to get to their post, thirsty with no water to quench, until they were drenched soaking wet in the rain, there were no Color Manila peeps to assist them.

The cosplayers went into social media to air their rants against Color Manila.

Now they have an apology.

"Hi [Name of head cosplayer withheld upon request],

First of all, I would like to express our deepest gratitute to you and the cosplay community for supporting the very first Marvel Run Philippines. We have stressed this message on how important this partnerhip with the community during our cosplayer night and the same message still stands today.

The event wasn’t perfect and has a lot of room for improvement but nevertheless, together we were able to execute this momentous event. The eyes of the cosplayer community in Asian region (and the world) are on us right now and this is a big win for the cosplay community of the Philippines.
If there’s a major area we admit we need to take care of, its the Cosplayer Program. The involvement of the cosplayers is what made this event different from any other Color Manila events. The cosplayers’ contribution make this event unique and fun for everyone. The cosplayers made a lot of kids-at-heart and Marvel fanatics see their dreams become a reality even for just a few hours. We apologise that some of them made the cosplayers feel like mascots but in spite of long lines of runners asking for photos I saw most cosplayers took this role to heart and gladly obliged to their fans’ request. I too was one of of those people who fell in line to ask for a photo with Vision (w/ an Infinity Gauntlet + payong)

We apologize that most cosplayers got wet due to heavy rain during the event and that no tent was available at the race route; some had to go to Petron (Macapagal cor Seaside) to take cover and with weight of the costume, a 500 meter walk must have felt like a travel to Asgard.
We apologize that food & drinks wasn’t given during the event. Its always part of our SOP (standard operating procedure) to provide food & drink to our event partners unless our partners assume that responsibility. I will take a closer look into this issue. I believe Edward (Cosplayer Coordinator)[Edward Limjap, Color Manila Business Development Manager] had a chance to celebrate with most of the cosplayers at Savory Restaurant, but I still wished everyone got a chance to at least spend time with us so we can show them our appreciation.

To correct these shortcomings, Toy Kingdom GC giveaway which was supposed to be given to the winners of our cosplay station, but due to rain, no station was set-up properly, we will simply recognise the efforts of all cospayers and give everyone equal amount of Toy Kingdom gift certificates.

Also, since we have cosplayers who didn’t get a chance to join the post event breakfast, we ask that we schedule another dinner to those who got involve at Marvel Run Philippines- our way of saying “Thank You”

From the bottom of my heart and in behalf of Color Manila we would like to say “Sorry” if we made any of you feel less valued. Rest assured that we treat our partners well and this is a slip.
We would like to hold a Thanksgiving dinner together with the cosplayers. This is our way of asking for a restart, I wish we can just use the Time Stone to alter the outcome but I can’t. I’m not Thanos.
So, I ask you guys to be super heroes once again and accept this sincere apology letter and help me bring order and unity to our worlds.

Attached is a photo from China News."

With much hope,

Jay (Dark Vader)

Piip Mobile App: The Future of Messaging and Promotion

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Piipsters, Vloggers, and Bloggers gathered together for the exclusive first day screening of Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp!

Bloggers/vloggers were initially asked to go to Novotel Araneta Center, 6th floor beside pool area for some food and refreshments courtesy of Piip. It was also an opportunity to learn more about Piip at the short Open Forum and Q and A provided for everyone. You may check our official Facebook page for the videos containing our interviews, the talks or messages of the Piip executives, namely Hildegarde Maea Atger – Chief Investor, VP Business Development for Asia Pacific; Andrei Garlan – Business Development Director for Philippines and Ian Atienza – Strategic Advisor for Philippines, plus more videos of our personal experience during the event. Photos are also available.

Everyone were treated to free snacks before entering the cinema so they would have something to much and drink while watching the latest Marvel movie starring Paul  Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas, plus Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Pena, Laurence Fishburne, Walton Goggins, and a lot more.

Piip merchandise were also given away as raffle and contest prizes before the movie started. I would have joined the contests but there were so many kids among us so we let them have the fun. After all, it's their moment as the movie is more for them to enjoy. Who wouldn't love superhero movies as they inspire everyone to become a hero themselves, with superpowers or none. It is a great thing that these movies continue to add characters without superpowers to let people know we could contribute to the cause, or assist the superheroes, in our own special little way.

That is also why many loves taking photo ops, groupfies or selfies with these superheroes, cosplayer or even the actual heroes if ever they come to our reality. We love wearing shirts, caps, jackets, hoodies, or anything with superhero designs, because for me, they are not only with attractive designs but also somehow imbues the heroic quality of the character to the wearer.

These are so much additional perks given to the moviegoers as the actual price of the movie thru Piip was only P150 ... it's actually very very low already compared to other movie block screenings so you would have regretted it if you knew about this but missed the opportunity to avail of this special promo via Piip mobile app.

Developed in Switzerland as a messenger app in 2011, Piip has gone into the direction as a mobile app that allows you to connect to the merchant stores and place orders, reservations or product inquiries. They started public testing in Serbia in 2016 and then soft-launched only last February 2017 in the Philippines.  But the eal noise was during the December 2017 tree lighting at Araneta. Piip mobile developed a close relationship with the Araneta Group as a merchant partner, that is why the merchants of the app are Araneta Group companies such as Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Novotel etc.

However, the next move is to reach out more to a wider market by targeting more around Metro Manila merchants (mostly food, probably because Filipinos love to eat, and it's basically one of our necessities that we could do without.) You can't go wrong with food businesses so either franchise a known and popular brand or come up with a new unique and tasty product to capture a great portion of the market.

The best thing is that it won't flood your phone with unwanted message ads because you get notices only from those merchants that you like and follow.  Piip integrates instant messaging and business promotion, providing our end users a seamless, safe and easy way to get in touch with the shops they frequently visit, receive promotions from the merchants they love, and discover new ones based on their current location (geo-targeting) and their likings. Through the Piip Billboard, consumers can browse the best offers from different merchants around them. They directly message merchants for the best deals of the day. You can also stay in touch with your friends and at the same time have an opportunity to discover merchants and their promotions based on your location.

The mobile app also gives all its merchants fair exposure to its customers as everyone is encouraged to talk about concerns outside the mobile app. Everyone is open to give suggestions, complaints, follow-ups, feedback, etc., directly to the involved merchants rather than openly airing the discussion within the mobile app.

Just as Ant-Man can increase in size, the Piip mobile app has the potential to grow big especially that Filipinos love promos, discounts, perks and freebies. We love to get our money's worth so getting the opportunity to find out about special deals are always welcomed. If the merchants will invest on promotions as an investment to get more attention, customers will surely flock the app and use it regularly. Since everyone is online, this is the next big thing instead of the traditional way of advertising.

Join the revolution NOW! Download the Piip app for FREE now to get the best and hottest offers around you!!
