Who is your Huwarang OFW 2017? Here’s a Chance to Honor the OFWs!

CBN Asia honors overseas Filipino workers through its search for Huwarang OFW 2017, in partnership with iRemit, KAMPI, and Kabalikat ng OFWs.

Now on its 3rd year, Huwarang OFW 2017 recognizes the sacrifices of OFWs to provide for their families. It celebrates their victories in overcoming challenges that made an impact not only within their family, but also to their community and country.

“I know that a lot of people can relate to what they’ve gone through, so it’s not only intended for OFWs. It’s also for everyone who is facing storms in life. I wanted to give hope and inspiration to those who are still struggling,” says Ms. Becky Cabral, CBN Asia’s Production and News Director who conceptualized the Huwarang OFW Awards.

Finalists of the Huwarang OFW 2017 are featured on The 700 Club Asia every Monday, 12 MN at GMA. You may vote for your favorite nominee via the CBN Asia website. You can also vote through The 700 Club Asia Facebook page. Just click the ‘Vote Contest’ tab and then look for your favorite Huwarang OFW nominee.

Huwarang OFW Winners will receive plaques, cash prizes up to Php150,000 and other tokens. Awarding will be held on September 23, 2017.

Oil Price Situation for Week of June 12

Pursuant to its function of monitoring oil trading in the international market and analyzing its impact on the domestic prices of petroleum products as mandated by law, the Department of Energy (DOE) noted that last week’s international oil trading may cause movements in the domestic prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene as follows:

1) Gasoline may decrease by around P0.80 per liter;
2) Diesel may decrease by around P0.90 per liter; and,
3) Kerosene may decrease by around P1.10 per liter.

However, these findings could still be affected by the trading activities on Friday, 9 June, which can be accessed today Monday, 12 June.

Resulting price adjustments concerning petroleum products are implemented every Tuesday of the week.

Meanwhile, the DOE encourages the public to be vigilant in their rights as consumers and immediately report to the DOE Consumer Welfare Office (Landline - 429 2900 look for Ms. Helen Arias) any violation of the law, rules and regulations by petroleum products suppliers (i.e., quality and/or safety issues).
