Honda Philippines Caps Off Banner Year with the Best Motorcycles for Gen-S Riders

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) capped off a banner year with the best and exciting motorcycle models introduced in 2016 for the Gen-S Riders. It concluded the year with a Culminating Event at the SM By the Bay in SM Mall of Asia on December 22, 2016.

It was amazing that the motorcycle company even gave away several prizes via their games and raffle opportunities. They must have given away more than a hundred prizes that night composed of motorcycle helmets and accessories plus smartphones, and their grand prize of a Gen-S motorcycle awarded to a lucky raffle winner that night. You can check out our video coverage on our Wazzup Pilipinas YouTube channel to see most of the happenings that night, from the very start where the host facilitated fun games among the riders, to the many performances of the guest entertainers, and up to the final announcement of the Gen-S motorcycle winner. You can also check out more photos from the event at our Wazzup Pilipinas Facebook fan page.

Entertaining the crowd before the final hours were Julie Anne San Jose and Abra who both gave several splendid performances via what they do best: singing. Both were warmly accepted by everyone who even sang along with the their individual performances. The audience were not contented to remain in their seats so they went up front of the stage to get a closer look and to have an opportunity for some photo and video shots.

Gen-S Riders is the new wave of Filipino riders who are street smart, stylish, superior and full of substance. They aspire for trendy and cool motorcycles, which is in line with the paradigm of HPI for its customers.

DOE Restores Power in Areas Hit by Typhoon Nina

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Committed to immediately restore power supply in typhoon-hit areas, the Department of Energy (DOE) with support from local government units and private institutions has brought back electricity to priority areas in Bicol and Southern Tagalog regions before New Year.

“Restoring power in town centers and nearby communities affected by Typhoon Nina would not be possible if not for all the strong men and women who continue to give their full effort and time in restoring damaged energy facilities,” said Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi.

In Catanduanes, the National Power Corporation (NPC) and the First Catanduanes Electric Cooperative, Inc. (FICELCO) already energized the Virac Airport yesterday afternoon as the Mariinawa Diesel Plant has resumed operations.

“The operation of the airport is critical in improving the access of relief operations among others to the whole province of Catanduanes,” said Cusi.

For transmission facilities in the on-grid area, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), after deploying 500 technical personnel, reported its milestone achievement yesterday (31 December) that the Naga-Daraga 230 kV line and the Naga-Pili-Iriga line have been restored servicing the provinces of Albay, Sorsogon and Camarines Sur.
