The longest teenage model search, Generation East 2016 had a Flores de Mayo parade of models on May 21, 2016 at Sta. Lucia Mall.

Since May has been the season for extravagant and festive Flores de Mayo events, we see several of these celebrations all throughout the month of May. The month has truly been a sight to behold. This is when the loveliest of our ladies all come out and show off what they are made of.

Young and vibrant men and women paraded in ever evolving-designed Barong Tagalog outfits and Filipiniana long gowns, respectively. A lot of designers are also taking advantage of these events to showcase their creations. They are all both breathtaking that every individual would wish they get the chance to wear these awesome outfits.

A lot of smiles were definitely all over the venue as we saw several of these Generation East 2016 candidates looking so fabulous amidst a crowd of well-wishers and even those mall-goers had to stop for a while to admire these attractive men and women flaunt their superbly-designed Philippine costumes.

I am more inclined to get fascinated with the ladies on how they carry their lavish gowns, while I envy the men who escort these beauties with all their splendor. We would like to congratulate them for being so elegant and awe-inspiring.

Ilocos Sur: The Iconic Quirino Bridge of Banaoang

"The scenic Quirino Bridge is named after the late former President, Elpidio Qurino, 6th President of the Philippines, and it spreads across the Abra river connecting the rocky mountain slopes of the town of Santa and the tail end of Bantay. Otherwise referred to as ‘Banaoang bridge’, it majestically connects and separates two transcending mountains and widely praised because of its marvelous engineering and grand architectural design as glorified by its splendid panoramic beauty, strength and durability when it survived the bombings of World War II."

An important landmark of Ilocandia, this 456-meter bridge is also called Banaoang Bridge as it's located in Barangay Banaoang, Santa, Ilocos Sur. It is no longer used and replaced with a newer bridge that also connects the towns of Santa and Bantay. 

The scenic arch bridge is considered an iconic symbol of Ilocos Sur. It is famous for its excellent engineering, architectural design and magnificent views. At the height of a strong typhoon in 2001, one of its steel spans was damaged and washed away. It is currently preserved as a tourist attraction, doubling as a backup in case the main bridge is damaged by typhoons.

You get a picturesque view of the bridge with the Abra mountain backdrop that you would not dare stop to capture this on camera, or video, to immortalize the memory.

Camille Jensen "CJ" Hirro, host, model, writer, and artist who graduated from UP Diliman and hails from the province of Pampanga, broke the traditional or conventional look for a beauty queen who usually has the long silky hair hair. It seems Miss Global Philippines is very open to the new definition of a woman. We've all seen and heard CJ as the short-haired Binibini, that unconventional beauty who joined Binibining Pilipinas on 2014. Now, she's the grand winner of Miss Global Philippines 2016.

We were not surprised because she's also witty and a great speaker who knows how to express herself clearly and with convincing passion. She has been a stand-out ever since she joined the beauty pageant and has been a favorite among photographers. She's also so easily approachable and you would see her smile a lot every time. These socially warm traits are really appealing for everyone that we really want to see her shine in her future endeavors.
