Flowboarding Like a Champ at Flow House Manila

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It was a hot summer Saturday at Seasons Mall in  Molino, Cavite. I was at FLOW HOUSE MANILA launch for one of the fastest growing sports in the world: Flowboarding - A combination of surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding. Need an instant surfing escapades?

My thoughts were on the James Bond movie Die Another Day when Bond surfed and entered North Korean sea border and escape the Iceland explosion. That's surfing and snowboarding, right Brosnan and Madonna? For a sport that has 70 million participating enthusiasts worldwide, this is an opportunity to explore and try something different this summer season.

Flowboarding looks like a surfing with the tricks of skyboarding using wakeboarding board. I had a chance to test those boards with the help of the pros. Standing, sitting and do a few water tricks.

Even a 3 year old kid can do with pro guidance. The avenue affiliated with flowriding is the flowrider. A ride that generates thin water flows like the ocean and falls current. Resulting to a wave that permit the rider to experience the thrill waves.

Beat The Summer Heat With Aquabest

Wazzup Pilipinas!

With the mercury continuing to rise in recent weeks, everyone has sought ways to cool down and beat the heat. So, whether you're spending your vacation in the beach and biking or just doing more outdoor activities it's always a good idea to stay hydrated.

1) Drink lots of water: The obvious choice for staying hydrated is drinking water and lots of it. You can never have enough water on hand, and for days at the beach, freeze water bottles the night before so they can stay cold throughout the next day. Drinking plenty of water will help keep your energy up, and make your skin glow. Aquabest is processed using Grander Technology that rejuvenates water making it more effective at keeping you hydrated.

2) Popsicles and ice candy can be an effective thirst quencher and cooler for a hot summer day, and they don't just have to be for kids. Making your own popsicles is fun to do, and you are in control of what goes in them. You can use Aquabest to blend fruits and sweeteners, pour them on ice trays and stick a toothpick and freeze to make your own healthy popsicle.

Casey Suire: “I Refuse to Live a Boring, Ordinary Life”

When Casey Suire (5-0), of LaFayette, Louisiana moved to Jakarta, Indonesia nearly a decade ago, he was just an ordinary, hard-working American trying to get by. But when he was introduced to mixed martial arts by a friend in 2009, he became obsessed with the sport and what started out as an interesting workout became an intense, burning passion.

“I can remember watching my first MMA show and it was very exciting but thought you would have to be crazy to do that,” said Suire, as he recalled how he first discovered mixed martial arts.

Suire, a certified country boy, spent his childhood days growing up in sunny southern Louisiana but since being employed by a major Oil & Gas company, he was sent to Angola and Africa on assignment before finally settling in Indonesia. He’s been abroad for eight years now.

It was there that he discovered mixed martial arts.

“In 2009, I met an Australian kickboxer and out of curiosity started training with him in Balikpapan,” said Suire.

“He downloaded some Bas Rutten videos and we watched them to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After three months, I had my first amateur MMA match at lightweight, and fought to a draw. I moved to Jakarta soon after (the amateur fight) and started training with fellow ONE fighter, Fransino Tirta. I went 5-0 in MMA competitions over that time.”
