ArtWearAble 2: EliSon - Ann Pamintuan Mounts Preview Collection at Yuchengco Museum

Ann Pamintuan will give audiences a special preview of her new line of bags and fashion accessories under the label EliSon.

To be exhibited at Yuchengco Museum from November 14, 2013 to February 1, 2014, ArtWearAble 2: EliSon by Ann Pamintuan pays tribute to her mentors, sisters Eli Pinto Mansor and Sonia Pinto Ner, renowned trailblazers in Philippine design.

Pamintuan’s EliSon brand of design creations is named in remembrance of the late Pinto sisters—Pratt Institute graduate and former Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) director and Movement 8 design alliance founder Eli Pinto Mansor and history professor, museum director, arts manager, and Filipiniana book publisher Sonia Pinto Ner—who both encouraged the Davao-based, self-taught designer to pursue a career in design.

The fashion line is comprised of bags and accessories that use especially made natural materials and fabrics interwoven or embellished with copper thread.

ASUS Announces Transformer Book T100 with Detachable Tablet Display

Attended by members of the media and ASUS partners, ASUS announces the Transformer Book T100, a 2-in-1 ultraportable laptop with a detachable 10 inch tablet HD display.

Powered by the latest Intel Atom ‘Bay Trail’ quad-core processor and that can be used as a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet. With a slim design and durable finish, Transformer Book is not only one of the lightest laptops currently available at just 1.07kg, but also one of the lightest 10-inch tablets around, at 550g.

Motherhood is a challenging enough experience, and more so if you have limited resources.

That is exactly the situation that Alice Temulajasay, 53, and Fely Paglinawan, 44, found themselves in, being residents of Barangay Denuyan in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Despite their condition, Alice and Fely upheld the adage about mothers’ resourcefulness. They were able to come up with means to support their families, with support coming from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the local government unit, and other stakeholders.
