Nike Celebrates the Spirit of Filipinos with We Run MNL 2013

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We Run MNL 2013 aims to inspire, motivate and unite Filipinos to move more, move better.

The Nike We Run MNL (Manila) returns for a third edition to inspire, motivate and connect runners around the world. On 1 December 2013, 15,000 runners are expected to take to the streets of the historical Marikina City and run the 10km in celebration of the spirit of unity that is significantly Filipino.

“For this year’s race, we have incorporated the personality of the people of the Philippines to motivate and inspire them to lead a more active lifestyle. Filipinos are kindred spirits who, without hesitation, unite for a good cause and help each other. Taking this, we hope that every Filipino runner can inspire and motivate another and run the race together” says Courtney Cole-Faso, Country Marketing Manager, Nike Philippines.

In the spirit of unity, runners must sign up for the race with a “buddy”. This is to encourage runners to constantly motivate each other to achieve their goals in preparation for the 10km race. Nike will organize training sessions in November to help runners prepare for the race. The training sessions will be conducted in various locations around the city, and runners will participate in Nike Training Club, get tips from athletes and get an experience only Nike can bring.

Smart Recognizes PayITFwd Awardees

Smart Communications gave honor to ten of the best tech-based community projects during the first PayITFwd recognition event at the Jump Experience Center inside SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

Out of hundreds of projects that were sent to Smart, these ten programs stood out, and the brains behind them were awarded during the event.

Dr. Roel Cagape, one of the ten winners, started a text-based health center in General Santos City where the people can text him for health consultation.

Julio Babagay made old notebooks look like new again and even help the charity through his Notebook Exchange project. The dedication of the 13-year-old boy earned him the PayITFwd nod.

Reuben Herrera, an alternative learning instructor from Brooke's Point, Palawan, not just built the alternative learning setting to the people in the said town but also built a school for them. The efforts gave him a top ten nod too.

Silk Road of Thai Bistro : Another Great Reason Why You Need to Try Out Thai

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Never did it came into my mind that they will be calling a meal a "Son-In-Law". Well, I guess the newly-opened Silk Road Thai restaurant at Bonifacio Global City wants to be a little more creative and intriguing for their customers.

Silk Road is actually owned by the same people responsible for one of the best Thai restaurant in Manila, Thai Bistro. The brains behind this new Thai restaurant is no other than Chef Cecille who has gone a lot more creative and fancy with her new baby. She has been focusing her strength to make this new restaurant unlike no other.

Well she boasts of being the only Thai restaurant with top-class menu, authentic Thai ingredients, and food and beverage consultants.

Another Thai restaurant? The difference is that there is a bit more fusion in her dishes here, and the ambiance was specifically designed more for an intimate day with your special someones. Unlike the Thai Bistro at Robinsons Magnolia which is a family restaurant, Silk Road is an ideal place where you are more inclined to take your partner and propose, and most likely get a resounding "yes" as an answer.
