Top Ten Scenes in the Philippines During Flooding Season

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Resilient is being capable of withstanding shock without permanent deformation or rupture. It is the tendency to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.

Are we supposed to be cheering and shouting hurray to the Filipino people for once again showing resilience in the midst of the tragic flooding that is now occurring in the Philippines brought about by typhoon Maring?

We are definitely strong and determined to surpass all hardships brought about by the floods and other similar inconveniences brought about by man or nature. We would always come out smiling and hoping for the best. We are a remarkable race indeed.

I know the Filipino is worth dying for - as what Ninoy Aquino have said. But are we truly worthy of praises when we keep on seeing ourselves suffering from the same disasters we know will eventually happen but couldn't (or wouldn't) do anything to prevent it from happening?

Here's my top ten scenes in the Philippines that I would normally see during the flooding season.

Globe Strengthen Rewards Program With Philippine Airlines Partnership

Subscribers can now convert PAL Mabuhay Miles to Globe rewards points and redeem from ten (10) partner merchants, the biggest for a telco loyalty program

Strengthening its customer loyalty program Globe Rewards, Globe Telecom forged a partnership with Philippine Airlines (PAL) to allow its frequent flyers to convert their PAL Mabuhay Miles to Globe rewards points.

For every 2,000 Mabuhay Miles converted, subscribers can earn 400 rewards points; 1,500 Mabuhay Miles can be converted to 300 rewards points; and 1,000 Mabuhay Miles can earn subscribers 200 rewards points.

Subscribers can use rewards points to redeem items from the Globe Rewards catalog such as Globe services, shopping, dining and leisure items, gadgets, and gift certificates. Recently, using the point-to-peso conversion of 1 point = P1.00, subscribers are given more options to redeem their points, where rewards points can now be used as cash to purchase items from partner merchants.

Ten Tips on How To Take Care of Your Cars During Flooding Season

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Aaahhh!!! The flood season has started once again. This Maring has still to end and the flood to subside but only after damaging a great deal of vehicles all over the Metro.

My car was one of the victims during typhoon Ondoy, and sadly I never got to buy a new one in fear of the same thing happening all over again. So, I was right after all! I've learned to invest first on a parking location free from flooding, but still many do not have the convenience and luxury to choose where to park their cars.

Many of the car owners here in the Metro do not really have their own parking space or garage. Many of their vehicles are parked on the streets - regardless how narrow or wide the streets are - because many can't afford to own a house with a garage in the city.

Here are some tips from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and the Asian Carmakers Corporation (the official importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines) on what to do in case car owners or passengers encounter floods on the road, and how to respond when their vehicle is damaged in a flood.
