DOTC, LRTA Assure Safety of LRT-1 Passengers

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) are assuring the public of the continuing safety of the LRT-1 System, as the DOTC seeks to solve an impasse in the implementation of the P 269-Million LRT-1 Rehabilitation (Rail Replacement) Project which was awarded in November of last year.

The DOTC will meet tomorrow (13 August 2013) with the winning contractor for the Project, OMMC-KORAIL-Erin Marty-Jorgman Joint Venture, to ensure that the latter fulfills its contractual obligations to government.

According to the transport agency, the Joint Venture was supposed to begin actual replacement works by May 2013. Instead, the DOTC received a letter from the Joint Venture, claiming that it would not be able to meet the project schedule since it could not obtain sufficient financing from lenders.

After an exchange of correspondences, the DOTC wrote the Joint Venture on 9 July 2013 to clarify that there was no impediment on the part of government preventing the Joint Venture from complying with the contract. The letter also stressed that the Joint Venture’s failure to satisfy its obligations are grounds for liquidated damages and blacklisting, in accordance with the Uniform Guidelines for Blacklisting.

67th Mid-Year Orchid and Garden Show

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Orchids never fail to amaze me. I would always catch another glance whenever I see orchids used as ornaments or decorations at various occasions. They simply are marvelous to look at.

It has been said that "orchids have long been a symbol of love and beauty. They are grown by enthusiasts for their sheer elegance and fascination. They are also favored as either a corsage worn on the dress, or as a wristband at many proms and special events.

On many occasions, from weddings to conferences, sprays of orchids grace the tables as decoration. With over 750 genera of orchids, over 30,000 hybrids and more introduced every year, there is a huge variety of orchids to choose from for the orchid enthusiast. "

There will be an event highlighting the beauty of orchids called the 67th Mid-Year orchid and Garden show to be held at the Quezon Memorial Circle -Hardin ng mga Bulaklak . Special Opening will be held on August 29, 2013 Thursday for members, invited guest , media and vips . The event will be officially opened to the public starting August 30 to September 9, 2013 .

Boxed Lunch You Say? Have A Bento!

otakumode.com

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Are you tired of your usual baon*? The never-ending combination of the left-over from last night’s viand and rice? Or the easy as one-two-three deep fried chicken nuggets, hotdog, ham, tocino*, longganisa* or bacon plus the rice? Never forget the rice. We Filipinos won’t even think of leaving the rice out in our meals.
Baon* - Boxed lunches in the Philippines , Tocino* - Cured meat product popular in former Spanish colonial possessions  , Longganisa* - A sausage similar to a chorizo.

Speaking of rice, Nihonjins* always include rice in their meals too. You see, we Filipino’s are not the only one fond of eating rice on our meals. Japanese people are our rice buddies too. And like us, they also feel incomplete if rice is not included in their meals. So they have rice for asagohan*, hirugohan*, and also for bangohan*. Since we have stated that Japanese people eats rice during hirugohan, Japanese students gets to eat rice too during their breaks, encased in their lunch boxes, filled with scrumptious and organized food in which we call Bento.

Evercool Radiators : A Top Choice By Global Car Makers

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It was in 1993 when Roberts Automotive & Industrial Parts Manufacturing Corporation (Roberts AIPMC) got into the automotive metal industry, and it was the same year when they launched their own brand of radiators called Evercool.

Since then, the company and its Evercool radiator brand established itself firmly by supplying major segments of the market, particularly the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) assemblers, to make it a top choice among both domestic and overseas car makers.

Evercool Radiators has built and maintained credibility and respect from the market because of its strict adherence to rigid quality control standards. Its products undergo several leak tests to ensure that they are all 100% leak-free, and also undergo other tests like vibrations tests, high loads of pressure tests, and long distance road tests to make sure that the products are of the highest quality.
