Danny Kingad Prepares for Muhammad Aiman’s Best Version at Flyweight

A true warrior from the mountains of the Cordilleras and one of the top prospects to come out of Baguio City, Danny Kingad aims to cement his stature as one of the highly-regarded flyweights in Asian mixed martial arts (MMA) today.

The 21-year-old Igorot warrior holds an unblemished professional record of 4-0, with one knockout victory and one submission triumph.

Kingad is a tremendous striker, who also possesses solid grappling skills. In his most recent bout, he needed just one round to impressively submit Filipino flyweight contender Eugene Toquero.

Part of the talented new breed of Team Lakay fighters, Kingad will have his third assignment as a ONE Championship competitor on 21 April as he is set to take on Malaysian combatant Muhammad Aiman on the undercard of ONE: KINGS OF DESTINY in Manila, Philippines.

Aiman, a former MIMMA featherweight titleholder, will drop down to ONE Championship’s 61.2-kilogram weight class to lock horns with Kingad.

Kingad might be facing a bigger opponent with a physique of a natural featherweight, but he remains unfazed as Aiman is entering the flyweight territory.

“This is a different turf for him. The pace is different in this division. He might have the advantage in height, but athletes in this division can negate that with speed and power. Those two can make it an even playing field,” he said.

Ping! Ping! Ping! Ping! Ping!

Chef Boy Logro, otherwise known as the Kusina Master or Idol sa Kusina, recently performed cooking demos infront of quite a huge audience during one of the days of the Department of Trade and Industry
Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion's (DTI-BDTP) Sikat Pinoy 2017 National Food Fair at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall.
Since he is undoubtedly a TV icon already when it comes to hilarious cooking style, Chef Boy Logro did not fail to attract curious food fair visitors who watched him perform 5 easy-to-cook but tasty dishes. Though it took him around two hours for the entire cooking demo, the crowd stayed on until they were treated to actually taste the samples of the dishes he cooked on stage.

The cooking demo was brought to us in partnership with Baguio Oil, 7Flavors Buffet and Ala Carte Restaurant and Royale Caterer. These brands has Chef Boy Logro as their brand endorser of which the chef also has some business collaborations with the latter two companies mentioned.

Of course, the start ingredient of the cooking demo is the Baguio cooking oil which Chef Boy Logro used in all dishes mainly to fry most of the meat, from chicken, beef, fish and pork. As usual, he had his humor accompanying the cooking demo making the presentation a lot more interesting and less boring.

The chef is known for his comedic antics especially when with a female co-host while doing cooking demos at his show under GMA News TV. Chef Boy also has other business like a restaurant in Cavite and a Culinary School where he is able to pass on his knowledge to younger generations of future chefs.

With support from the DTI Regional and Provincial Offices, food entrepreneurs from the regions showcased their regional delicacies, organic products, and fresh produce from March 15 to 19, 2017 to reach the wider domestic market.

Over 200 small and medium enterprises from all over the country have been carefully screened to ensure that they meet the stringent standards set by the DTI-BDTP, in keeping with the theme, “Piling-Piling Pagkaing Pilipino.”

As in previous years, the Sikat Pinoy National Food Fair highlighted certain sectors. For this year, the special settings included: (a) an organic products and hydroponics garden; (b) a halal-certified products pavilion of the Bicol region; and (c) a showcase of Zamboanga Peninsula’s selected products.

Now on its fifth year, the Sikat Pinoy National Food Fair is a much-awaited event for foodies missing the comfort food that they grew up with, as well as those with more adventuresome taste buds looking for new twists to traditional Pinoy dishes.

The five-day fair is both a retail and order-taking event, so institutional buyers and traders are also invited to discover up-and-coming food SMEs for new offerings for supermarket shelves. Corporate consumers like hotels and restaurants will have the opportunity to meet new producers and negotiate with existing suppliers.

According to DTI-BDTP Director Rhodora M. Leaño, “Every year, we see improvements in the submissions from participating exhibitors, in terms of product quality as well as proper packaging and labeling. Through their exposure in the Sikat Pinoy National Food Fair, our SMEs from the regions are upgrading their standards to be more competitive not just for domestic buyers but for the global market as well.”
