Low Budget Mexican Themed Birthdays with Jose Cuervo

Got a birthday coming up and no money to spend? Well, don’t worry because your compadres at Jose Cuervo are here to make sure that even on a tight budget, you can still make the most out of your name day.

One of the best qualities of Mexican culture and cuisine is its ability to make the most of everything. And no other dish defines the can-do spirit of Mexican culture than Puerco Pibil, a simple, slow roasted pork dish. Start off your birthday right with this incredible recipe featuring Jose Cuervo Especial Silver.

Puerco Pibil w/ Jose Cuervo Especial Reposado:

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons achiote powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
2 tablespoons black pepper ground
Pinch of white clover powder
4 tablespoons allspice
2 habanero peppers, minced
½ cup orange juice
½ cup white vinegar
8 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons salt
5 lemons
2 shots Jose Cuervo Especial Silver
5 lbs kasim (pork butt)
Banana leaves (optional)

Preparation:
  • Combine achiote powder, cumin, cloves, allspice and peppercorn into a powder.
  • Mince habanero peppers. Keep seeds in accordance to personal spice level. The more seeds, the spicier!
  • Add spice mix, vinegar, orange juice, salt, and garlic in a blender on high for 45 seconds.
  • Add Jose Cuervo Especial Reposado and Tequila into the mix and blend for an additional 30-60 seconds. Set mix aside.
  • Cut pork into 2 inch cubes and place into a large ziplock bag and pour mix over the pork. Be sure to mix the bag in order to evenly spread the mix. Set aside and refrigerate for 4 hours. 

Cooking:
  • Cover a banking pan with banana leaves or aluminium foil.
  • Pour pork and mix into the pan.
  • Cover with more banana leaves and then cover with foil. Wrap the foil around the pan to ensure that steam does not escape.
  • Over bake at 325° F for 4 hours.
  • And just like that, you’ve got your birthday dinner. Serve over a hot bed of rice and this incredible margarita mix featuring Jose Cuervo Especial Sliver.


Classic Jose Cuervo Margarita:

Ingredients:
1 oz. Jose Cuervo Especial Silver
3 oz. Jose Cuervo Lime Margarita Mix
1 teaspoon salt
1 wedge of lime

Directions:
  • Chill a glass for an hour and rub the rim of the glass with half a lime.
  • Dip rim into salt for coating.
  • Combine Jose Cuervo Especial Silver and Jose Cuervo Lime Margarita Mix into a shaker with ice. Shake well.
  • Strain into a glass. Garnish with lime wedge and serve.
  • With a gathering of your nearest and dearest and a trusty bottle of Jose Cuervo by your side, it doesn’t matter how much or how little you have. You’re always in for a good time!

Yamaha Motors Philippines proudly announced their legacy being a decade in the industry. This manifested to what they showcased at the Inside Racing Bikefest through their booth design and also through their world class products.

Presented last year was their gala of ingenuity, Yamaha exceeded their performance and strived for the best giving out an spectacualr futuristic motorcycle display this year. The exhibit complimented the unending innovation and creation of their products that are perfectly fit for the costumer’s need going beyond their expectations. They always wanted to deliver an exceptional and remarkable rding experience.

The exhibit was officially opened by the executives of Yamaha Motor Philippines Inc; Mr. Toru Osugi (President), Mr.Alfredo Lejano (Corporate Support Director), Mr. Kaoru Ogura (Sales & Marketing Director), Mr. Romeo Tan (Sales Sr. General Manager), Mr. Ryan Jude Camus (Marketing Section Sr. Manager) together with Mr. Alfeo Camba Jr. (Owner & Publisher of Camba Motohaus Inc.).

This year’s campaign is all about being More with Blue Core giving you More Power with Less fuel and this is through the lineup of the Blue Core Products with the new graphics of Mio i 125 & Mio Soul i 125, and new variants which is the Mio i 125S & Mio Soul i 125S Version with Stop and Start System Technology. When enabled, your engine automatically switch off after 5 seconds of being idle to avoid unnecessary fuel consumption and low emission. The gorgeous Urban City commuter which is the NMAX has a new color comes in Matte Red. And the new automatic motorcycle anticipated by many, the Mio Aerox 155 finally launched. This unit is the next generation of Mio with lot of features and technology with it. The show was graced with their newest ambassador, Matteo Guidicelli.

Also present in the booth is the All New YZF-R15 together with the rest of the R-Series and the Big Bike which is the MT07, MT09, MT09 Tracer & XSR 900.

The future of motorcycle is definitely here and and another milestone marked. Supporters of the brand and the riders experienced now what the legend of tomorrow is all about.

Mazo vs Corbe: First Challenge to be More

Riders, motorcycle fans and racing enthusiasts witnessed as Mickey Mazo and Romer Corbe took the Mio I 125, Mio Soul I 125 and the Nmax out for an 8 hour endurance test to prove that they can have “More Power with Less Fuel and that they could be more with Blue Core. Along with Mickey Mazo’s team members: Kyle Paz, Vistor Suba, Neil Jan Centeno, Bethany Tolentino and Romer Corbe’s team members: Masato Fernando, Miko Montano, Robert Ryan Espiritu, Macdon Dave Sande, they tested out the Yamaha Blue Core motorcycles and fought for three titles – fastest lap, most fuel efficient and most number of laps.

The challenge started at exactly eight o’clock in the morning, giving the riders enough time to prepare. Once the engine started, they can only stop for their mandatory 2 minute break per hour. The challenge created excitement not only for the fans and audience but also for the riders themselves.

Although out of the 8-hour endurance activity, all the fans and audience were given a ticket stubs to enjoy the fun activities prepared for them. The Revy Bear Claw machine and the puzzle making were both a huge hit. At 4:00 in the afternoon, the rivals Mickey Mazo and Romer Corbe were left on the race track for the last hour of the challenge which created more intensity among the crowd.

The challenge ended with the cheering fans for both of the Riders, and get even louder when the Rivals went up to the stage for their final face off during the awarding.

Rico, along with the Sr. Section Manager of Yamaha Motor Philippines Inc, Mr. Ryan Jude Camus finally announced the winners - McKinley Kyle Paz for achieving fastest lap making 53.312 seconds, Team Mazo for the Most Fuel efficient Team consuming only 54.22 liters for 1,380 Laps. Team Corbe grabbed the bragging rights for the most number of laps making 1,485 laps and Romer Corbe himself for beating Mickey Mazo for the most number of lap as an individual.

The action on the race track really made everyone jump on their seats. The two teams – Mazo and Corbe truly raised the bar and we cannot wait for their next battle on the track. They showed us how maximum performance meets fuel efficiency through Yamaha Blue Core motorcycles and it’s time for you to see it for yourself.
