The Game of Truth, Creativity, and Responsibility in the Digital Age

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Success isn’t always a straight line—it’s often a wiggly, electrified wire, like the ones you see at local fairs. One wrong move, and you “buzz” out. But if you’re lucky—and focused—you just might win a prize. And if that prize includes a crispy piece of lumpia along the way? Count us in.

But in this wild game of content creation, there’s more at stake than likes, views, or viral fame. In the age of disinformation and digital overload, creators aren’t just entertainers or influencers—they’re the new umalohokan, the modern-day heralds of truth.

So how do we sumakses (succeed) as creators while staying true to what’s real, critical, and responsible?

Let’s break it down—with a side of humor, a dash of drama, and a big scoop of reality.

1. Step by the Step

Take it one step at a time.

Success doesn’t happen overnight. Whether you're a new blogger, a seasoned vlogger, or a niche content creator, the path is paved one post, one pitch, one story at a time.

Take each step mindfully. Celebrate the little wins—like your first reader comment, your first collab, or your first viral meme that didn’t involve dancing in your pajamas.

In this game, every move matters.

2. Sa Lumpia — Find Your Flavor

Lumpia isn't just a snack—it's a metaphor for what makes you, you. What’s your niche? Food? Fashion? Politics? Puns?

Find your flavor, your lasa, and serve it fresh and authentically. Don’t be a copycat content mill. People crave honesty more than polished perfection.

Being original isn’t easy—but it’s tastier.

3. Without Touching the Wire

Avoid the noise. Stay steady.

The “wire” is all the noise: trolls, drama, burnout, fake news, imposter syndrome, cancel culture.

Stay focused. Stay grounded. Avoid the trap of chasing clout over clarity. Don’t spread information you haven’t verified just for the sake of being first.

Your credibility is your wire. One false buzz, and it could cost you everything.

4. The Longer You Last, the Better the Prize

Stay consistent. Success takes time.

Longevity matters. Building trust, value, and audience loyalty takes time. It’s not about trending once—it’s about staying relevant without selling out.

Consistency is your superpower. The longer you last—truthfully, responsibly, passionately—the better the rewards. Not just in followers, but in influence that actually matters.

5. Makikita Mong Bigla Kang Sumakses!

One day you’ll see—you made it!

It hits you one day. After all the posts, the sleepless nights, the inner doubts—you realize: people are listening. You’ve made an impact.

Not because you followed trends, but because you stayed true to yourself, your craft, and your truth.

And that, dear creator, is the biggest prize of all.

The Modern Umalohokan: Truth-Tellers in a Digital World

But what’s success without purpose?

On April 13, 2025, creators, advocates, and truth warriors will gather at UMALOHOKAN: Para sa Kaalaman, Kalikasan, at Kinabukasan, a movement led Ross Flores Del Rosario of Wazzup Pilipinas, that calls on content creators to become defenders of truth and champions of sustainability.

Long before social media, the Umalohokan were our town criers—heralds of truth, bearers of critical news, protectors of the people. Today, their spirit lives on in those who use their platforms not for personal gain—but for public good.

The Event Will Feature:

Pocholo “The Voicemaster” Gonzales: Igniting voices with purpose.

Ellen Tordesillas of VERA Files: Unmasking fake news with sharp facts.

Chino Penserga (PPCRV) and Atty. Ryan Jay Roset (LENTE Philippines): Leading the charge on electoral integrity and voter empowerment.

Digital personalities like Jenny Medenillla of The Transport Queen, and Nestor Lim of News Media Nest on surviving (and thriving) amidst disinformation.

Environmental warriors like Jayson Noveda of EcoWaste Coalition, Antonio Dizon of BAN Toxics, Engr. Eric Raymundo of Bayanihan Para Sa Kalikasan Movement, and Eman Balani of Alkarock Gift of Nature battling for a livable planet.

Keynote by David D’Angelo of the Green Party of the Philippines will ignite minds and move hearts.

Ross Flores Del Rosario, the founder of Wazzup Pilipinas and the visionary behind the Umalohokan Workshops, will finalize with a covenant signing to encourage everyone to solidify the common goal for truth and responsibility.

We believe that in the age of disinformation, everyone has a duty to side with the truth eventhough there's too much confusing noise out there on both social media and the real world

This is Not a Talk—It’s a Turning Point

UMALOHOKAN is not a seminar. It’s a resistance.

It’s a battle against digital deception, climate indifference, and voter disengagement.

It’s a training ground for thinkers, not reactors. For questioners, not blind followers. For responsible sharers, not reckless spreaders.

It’s where creators become truth-tellers, and content becomes catalyst.

A Final Word to Fellow Creators

Don’t just chase the buzz. Be the signal.

Fact-check before you post. Think before you share. Engage before you enrage.

Because in a world full of noise, the most powerful voice—is the one that tells the truth.

“The longer you last, the better the prize.”

But let that prize be more than fame. Let it be impact, integrity, and influence with purpose.

“Paano ba sumakses?”

Success is just like this lumpia wire game — one steady step at a time, without letting distractions throw you off.

Keep creating. Keep showing up. Keep thinking critically.
