The Palarong Pambansa Board has recently conducted the special board meeting on the Bidding Presentation of the Bidder-Local Government Units (LGU) for the Hosting of the 2024 Palarong Pambansa.
After drawing lots to determine the order of presentation, Cebu City, Province of Antique, and Province of Negros Occidental showcased their respective bids to claim the hosting rights of the biggest scholastic sports gathering in the country for next year.
A Visayas city/province is set to host the next Palaro following the Luzon-Visayas-Luzon-Mindanao rotation principle.
During the presentation, Mayor Mike Rama of Cebu City, Governor Rhodora Cadiao of Antique, and Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson of Negros Occidental discussed their commitments and what they can offer to cater to the delegation of the Palarong Pambansa in 2024.
After the presentation, DepEd and Palarong Pambansa Board deliberated to identify the next Palarong Pambansa host.
The hosting rights of the winning bidder will be announced at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Palarong Pambansa in Marikina City.
In the Palaro history, Cebu City hosted it twice, in 1954 and 1994, while the Province of Antique conducted the 2017 edition. The Province of Negros Occidental hosted in the year of 1971, 1974, 1979, 1998, and 2000.
