Wazzup Pilipinas!?
1) BMW 760Li ($140,250)
- It should come as no surprise that BMW makes an appearance
on this list. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton drives one, so it must
be good! This German-engineered sedan offers seating for four and comes powered
by a massive twin-turbocharged V12 engine that has six liters of displacement.
Its output is rated at an impressive 535 horsepower, which propels the 760Li to
60mph in just 5.4 seconds. The 760Li can also reach an electronically limited
top speed of 155mph.
2) Bentley Mulsanne ($208,825)
- The Mulsanne name was first used on the Rolls Royce Silver
Cloud III chassis back in 1965 and now it's being used again on this powerful
luxury sedan from Bentley Motors. This super-luxe car starts out strong with
its 6.8 liter turbocharged V8 that delivers 505 horsepower! It then adds
advanced all-wheel drive for enhanced traction, four-corner air suspension,
electronic ride control and a leather-wrapped dash to create a true Grand
Tourer. When it goes on sale next year, the Mulsanne will carry a base price of
$208,825 in the United States.
3) Porsche Panamera Turbo Executive ($127,290)
- The Panamera name is supposed to indicate that this car
offers "Porsche performance" in every aspect of its performance
envelope. This four door sedan is also long (19 feet 2 inches), wide (76
inches) and heavy (4377 pounds). It features seating for five passengers with
plenty of space for rear seat occupants thanks to its extended wheelbase
design. As you might guess from its size and weight, this Porsche is no slouch
in the performance department. It's powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8 liter V8
engine that produces 500 horsepower and it will explode to 60mph in just 4.6
seconds when equipped with Porsche's "Sport Chrono" option package.
4) Jaguar XJR ($84,000)
- This full size luxury sedan was originally launched in
1992 but it has been updated several times since then—most recently in 2008.
The XJR is an automobile that lets passengers know they are riding in an old
school British car because of its distinctive grille design and traditional
wire mesh radiator cover. Despite this throwback look, the XJR is anything but
old; supercharged 5 liter V8 engine powers the car and it delivers a supremely
luxurious driving experience to its occupants.
5) Audi A8L W12 ($121,000)
- William D King observed
that the majority of the vehicles on this list consist of super luxury sedans
from Europe, but Audi has managed to sneak onto the list with an American-made
full size sedan. This vehicle is powered by a 6.3 liter 12 cylinder engine that
features both direct injection and twin turbochargers in order to generate an
impressive 520 horsepower and 479 ft/lbs of torque. The body of the A8L was
developed between Audi's design studios in Ingolstadt and Santa Monica,
California (That means it was designed in Germany and then built America).
6) Mercedes CL65 AMG ($129,000)
- Mercedes has a long-standing relationship with AMG and
that is why it was easy for them to join forces once again on this super luxury
coupe. The CL 65 AMG delivers an amazing 612 horsepower from its massive twin
turbocharged V12 engine. This car can go from 0 to 60mph in just 4 seconds flat
thanks to its automatic top speed limiter that prevents the car from going over
155 mph. In total this car weighs 5990 pounds which means it's heavy enough for
plenty of damage if you crash!
7) Maybach 57S ($416,500)
- When it comes to luxury vehicles, Maybach usually isn't a
name that comes up very often. The 57S is a clear exception to that rule as it
combines plenty of luxury amenities with some impressive performance technology
from Mercedes. This car features an AMG tuned 5.5 liter twin-turbocharged V12
engine under the hood. The powerplant produces a staggering 630 horsepower and
660 ft/lbs of torque which is enough muscle to accelerate the Maybach from
0-60mph in just 4.8 seconds!
8) Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe ($429,900)
- It takes more than six liters of displacement to get on
this list and that's why Rolls Royce earns a spot with their drophead version
of the Phantom sedan. This vehicle accommodates two rear seat passengers thanks
to its classic "dormobile" style folding roof. Under the hood you'll
find a massive 6.75 liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 453
horsepower and 531 ft/lbs of torque, but that's just enough power to get this
car in motion … not move it at a rapid pace. This vehicle has an electronically
limited top speed of 155 mph which means it's officially road legal when its
roof is up!
9) Maybach 62S ($259,000)
- The previous Maybach on our list was impressive with its
630 horsepower 12 cylinder engine , but the Maybach 62S is even more so thanks
to its 500 horsepower V12 powerplant . In spite of providing nearly twenty
percent less power than the 57S, this car is actually a few ticks quicker
thanks to its weight which starts at over 6000 pounds. This sedan will go from
0-60mph in 5 seconds flat and it won't stop until it reaches a top speed of 155
mph!
10) Mercedes S65 AMG ($221,000)
- There's a good chance the Maybach 62S would have been
number ten on our list … but we went with the slightly less powerful Mercedes S
65 AMG. The previous Maybach included a 6.75 liter V12 engine while this one
includes a whopping 6.0 liter twin turbocharged V12 engine that produces an
astonishing 621 horsepower and 738 ft/lbs of torque. Unfortunately, both cars
are electronically limited to 155 mph which means they won't be able to get out
of each other’s way when the light turns green.
Conclusion
We have to give credit where credit is due … Germany has done an amazing job at producing some of the best luxury cars in the world. Six of these ten vehicles are German designed and all but one is made in Germany. As always, feel free to leave your opinion in our comments section.
