President Rodrigo Duterte accepts the nomination to run for vice president (VP) in the 2022 election, his party PDP-Laban says.

Perhaps Duterte thinks he can evade accountability if he becomes vice president in the next administration. The question now is will Tito Sotto continue to run as VP of Ping Lacson?

PDP-Laban said the ff will be part of the party’s initial senatorial slate: 

-House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta

-DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan

-Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo

-DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade

-DPWH Secretary Mark Villar

Another batch of clowns to be added to the already Senate circus of the Philippines.

Magiging kasumpa-sumpa na ang Pilipinas niyan.

"Duterte agreed to make the sacrifice" we didn't even ask. Akala ko ba pagod na? Ilang beses na gusto magresign kuno. Walang delicadeza. Trapo. Joke na naman? Kaysa yung pandemic response ang unahin ng gago, inaatupag ang huwag maalis sa gobyerno. Nakakasuka na. Panay threat ng resign ngayon tatakbo pa? Ang tamad tamad na nga ng buwiset!

It goes against the constitution for him to run as VP? After all, the sole job of a VP is to replace the President if he or she is unable to do their duties unless assigned to handle a particular office or position? So in this context, it would go against idea of re election.

Or baka ano naman yan… last minute replacement like 2016. Posible. Umobra kasi nong 2016 kaya gagamitin ulit nila sa 2022 ang kaparehas na formula upang linlangin ang mga Pilipino.

Mas marami ang mangmang kaysa may mga alam. Lalo na sa pagpili ng tamang kandidato.

It’s the first time in history na makikipag debate ang current President sa mga aspiring VP candidates. Wait, shouldn't he resign first, then nagiging Presidente na si VP Leni Robredo? 

Can she clean the government while she's there?

Ang awkward naman na President pa rin si Rodrigo Duterte tapos makiki pag debate sa mga Vice Presidential candidates para sa #Halalan2022. Hindi siya malamang sasali unless 12mn at pre-recorded ang debate. Tàkot Yan makipag debate dahil warak na siya sigurado dahil sobrang obvious na mga kurakot nila.

Duterte's decision to run for VP shows that our role does not merely stop at registering to vote. We must do more than that. 

We must arouse, organize, and mobilize. We must remain critical and vigilant, and continuously study our society to rid it of its ills.

At the end of the day, we cannot make waves when we move as individuals, or if we move divided by our ideologies. 

We must seek to form the broadest front in order to defeat the ultimate evil - Duterte and the allies that keep him in power. 

Duterte is like your manipulative, toxic, piece of shit ex-husband that you can’t get rid of. Tama na. Kawawa na sobra ang Pilipinas.

Duterte running for another position, in his age and with his very poor performance as president, shows just how desperate he is to run away from the law.

But. The. Law. Will. Get. Him. For. Sure.

Even if belched out of sarcasm, Duterte's plan to avoid possible lawsuits by becoming vice president—as he has flagrantly stated—merely bastardizes the Constitution more than it glazes over his reputation.
