Pride Month Celebrated in the Streets of Manila

Benilde Hive (BHIVE), the first accredited Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+)-oriented student organization of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), organized a march with students, faculty, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to commemorate the international Pride Month.

Dubbed Spreading Love with Color, in celebration of the Benilde Pride Week 2019, the parade saw rainbow banners, streamers, and flags to showcase their different identities, and is a big step towards the advocacy to call for equal rights and to end the discrimination against the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

This demonstration was in observance of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the event which encouraged the modern gay rights movement.
