“We always make sure that PPP showcases films that cater to the different tastes of various audiences every year. For its third year, the first three films that we chose for PPP really inspired us, and we expect the remaining five films to add more excitement to the event and to offer more variety to the films we already selected,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Mary Liza DiƱo.
PPP, a week-long event that exclusively screens quality Filipino genre films in all theaters nationwide, officially marks the “Sandaan,” the celebration of the One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema. Pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation 622 Series signed last November, FDCP, the country's film agency, is assigned to lead the Sandaan. This Proclamation was declared in honor of Jose Nepomuceno’s “Dalagang Bukid,” which is considered the first Filipino-produced and directed film that was released on September 12, 1919.
PPP will run in all theaters nationwide this September 2019. Fire and Ice Productions and CMB Film Services are proud sponsors of the event.
