Wazzup Pilipinas!
Following its announcement in January, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has officially released the mechanics of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) 2019. Now on its third year, the PPP will be held September 12 to 18, 2019, a week-long film exclusive screening of Filipino films in all cinemas nationwide. This is in line with the celebration of the One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema which starts officially in September this year.

A call for applications has been released for this year where eight (8) Filipino films that will have their Philippine premiere during the PPP will be picked and curated by a Selection Committee, three (3) of which are films in their advanced stage of development or production stage and five (5) are finished films or films in post-production. Deadline of submission for film projects in production stage is on March 8, 2019, while finished films or films in their final post-production stage shall be submitted by May 31, 2019. Selected films will receive a co-production fund of up to 2 million pesos.

Started in 2017, the PPP has featured award-winning films, two of which—Birdshot and Signal Rock—have been selected as the country's official entry to the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Films.
