Seascape Village: The Newest Foodie Destination in the Metro with a View of the Glorious Manila Bay Sunset

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Seascape Village is inviting foodies galore to experience what is now a vibrant append to our country's enthralling Manila Bay.

Aside from the Filipino, Asian, and fusion cuisines, and a wet and dry market that features fresh seafood trading, it is also a place where dining customers can enjoy an unobstructed view of the glorious Manila Bay sunset.

At a food crawl held on May 17, 2018, we got to try out some of the specialty dishes of around 9 of the 13 restaurants there (so far) as this Phase 1 of their development is just seemingly the tip of the iceberg. There are more coming up soon especially when the next phases enters the scene. We've heard some promising developments soon that will make the place a lot more enticing as a hang-out. Think of a seaside hang-out that would be quite interesting for both Millennials and Feellenials (Feeling Millennials) or Millenniors (Millennial Seniors).

Seriously, you'll soon give in to that need to discover the sumptuous array of seafood (and a lot more) brought to you by innovative restaurants all packed into one eye-catching location. We truly believe the Sofitel hotel nearby would now have a tough competition soon. Well, at least for food choices for now. I can see the hotel guests dropping by soon as the price range of the dishes here are definitely way lower than what are available at the hotel.

All offering internationally-themed dishes, Seascape Village could be among the popular foodie hangouts. We have to invite you and your friends to food crawl all you want (just like what we did), while relishing that beautiful sight of Manila Bay's sparkling yet ethereal waves quite visibly enchanting especially during sunset. Therefore bring your cameras or smartphones to take not only photos of your food but also of the amazing seascape.

Congratulations to their grand opening held a few days before. The ribbon-cutting ceremonies and program proper of the event was hosted by Dingdong Avanzado, while his wife Jessa Saragoza was proudly nearby. We got a bonus serenade from this OPM icon, plus some selfies with the couple. But we had no time to interview them since it was food tasting time at some of their restaurants. Lol!

The culinary experience at Seascape Village promises the foodies' delight by being home to all sorts of restaurants. Here are some reasons why it should be your next foodie destination:

Ranging from an assortment of guaranteed fresh, mouth-watering spiced beef of Wow Cow Hot Pot to that convivial yet flavorful crab and shrimp eat-with-your-hands boodle fight at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps. I know I should be highlighting more the seafood dishes, but the former mentioned had an impressive spread that they seem to be well prepared in welcoming our arrival. Unfortunately I had very little time to try their food because I had to interview the owner first. The latter mentioned is not new to me since I already had opportunities to dine at all the other three branches located in Manila. They never fail to please. Same superb taste!

and up to the elegant Asian cuisine of Asian Taste where foodies get to enjoy some classic but notably quite-better-than-others seafood dishes, plus a few more viands that we ignored the rice served, the three restaurants mentioned are my top three choices.

Rainne's honestly has heavenly cheesecakes. It was a bit awkward we passed by at this place as a second stop because the sweet treats were perfect as dessert to punctuate the phenomenal food crawl experience with an exclamation point.

Lhong-E had plenty of dishes to show off. I can imagine myself splurging on their shrimps and other dishes. Tender as tender could be, their pork meat was almost a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Lola Ina’s Seafood Paluto Restaurant served us some shrimps and clams dishes that were surely satisfying that I wanted more but had to move on to the next stop. The temptation was hard to resist but the host kept counting up to the last two minutes like we're in a basketball game. Lol! He had a tough time since he had to mostly talk throughout the food crawl while we enjoyed every minute with free food (just for today).

My favorite at Yatai Asian Cuisine would definitely be their fresh and cheesy oysters (no doubt about it). Do I need to say more? Those were top on the list. Actually, I saw nothing else but the oysters!

Darwin’s CafĂ© Hong Kong Special proudly boast of their authentic Hong Kong milk tea while The Big 1 Tea also has their own concoctions in quite a number of varieties which is truly affordable considering their huge size.

And last but not the least, Mazu Seaside Diner which was actually our first stop during the food crawl since that's where the media were received and the introductory message was held, delighted us with their fried string beans with salted egg. I believe that is everyone's favorite at our table, though everything served was gone in just a couple of minutes.

Way beyond the tip of the iceberg, let's not forget the other food establishments like Mr. A’s Bar, Golden China, Fish Music Bar, GoGo Kitchen, and Golden Fortune. Now that's just discussing the restaurants. There's actually a lot more establishments to check out.

“We really wanted to bring a new experience for locals and tourists alike. Seafood is one of the bountiful resources that we have and with Seascape Village, we are able to bring a more interactive experience to dining,” said Christine Suntay, Seascape Village Marketing and Events Head.

A neat feature of this new hangout is its Bay Market, which not only displays but also ensures that all of its seafood is fresh. Apart from the Philippines being a tropical archipelago and therefore a primary source of fresh seafood, this is for us to not only be satisfied but also reassured when it comes to our foodie experience.

Delving deeper, this is just the first of the four phases of Seascape Village, and phase completion predicted to be in 2020. Seascape Village envisions all of its phases to be geared towards providing tourists with the best lifestyle and wellness experience, events and entertainment and hotel and commercial complex and topping it all off with a splashing beachfront for the perfect view of the sunset at Manila Bay.

Seascape Village is located at Atang dela Rama Street corner Zoilo Hilario Street, in between Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel and the Manila Film Center, just within the Cultural Center of the Philippines complex in Pasay City.

Again, don't forget to catch up with friends and give into your favorite food at this splashing hangout!

This is just the first part of our special feature of Seascape Village. Watch out for our video coverage and interviews that we will post on our social media networks.
