Wazzup Pilipinas!
From one of the founders of the Ready, Set, Blog bloggers event, I decided for a low-profile participation instead and wanted to join as just one of the attendee. This was because I was back working on an 8 to 5 job which equates to a lot of limitations like I can't stay late at an event because I will surely have a hard time waking up the next day (unless it was a Friday or Saturday event).
Since most events are done during lunch time, I also missed out on a lot of opportunities to personally witness potential news to share on my blog. Sending over a representative is totally different since I prefer to experience the events on my own, and I tend to be less satisfied with the coverage done by others since I am too conscious about getting better videos and photos, plus the interviews not too many do at their coverage. Call me a perfectionist but I guess it's all because I just prefer to be on the field myself.
But my fellow blogger and co-founder of the Ready Set Blog event had something better in mind. She wanted me to talk as one of the speakers with a topic she believes I am capable enough to discuss.
Elevate Your Blog - as if I am already at the top of the blogging community. I may be getting a lot of invites to events and many other forms of collaborations and partnerships, but I believe I still have a lot to learn.
And from the list of bloggers attending the event, I asked "Do they really need to hear it from me?" Since many of them have already been blogging for a long time already.
However, this was the same thoughts I had when I started my blogging career and joining other bloggers who have been around for ages, but only to find out I am getting better views and opportunities than them.
Well, maybe because I am aggressive enough to approach potential clients. I rarely waste the time when I am early, and I don't leave events immediately until I am satisfied with the materials that I got. Materials mean photos, videos, interviews, selfies, etc. - stuff I need to publish better and a wide variety of content on my site and social media accounts like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, etc.,
We have to thank Selah Garden Hotel for the venue they provided not only for the workshop but by letting the bloggers experience staying at the hotel., and equally enjoying their amenities like the pool and extreme activities like their zipline.
The place looks small from the outside but the inner facilities of the hotel could already house a small group wanting to hold some activities.
Did we mention they have scuba diving lessons right at their pool?
Unfortunately, I am unable to stay to experience what I just mentioned because we have a weekend activities at work as well. The opportunities you sacrifice for work could be worth it, but something in my head tells otherwise since I am already missing attending events like these. Maybe Selah Garden Hotel could just give me an opportunity to experience a family staycation instead?
Wishful thinking for both the staycation and the hope that the bloggers who attended the event learned something from my talk. I am glad to find out that there were other people in the room that are not bloggers and were appreciative of our talk. There were also a few other bloggers there that I have not met before and have expressed their takeaways online.
Here's a shout-out to my fellow speakers at the event:
John Cueto talked about Blogging 101 and Digital Marketing, Cheryl Luis discussed the Business Side of Blogging, Zheyme Manahan shared some tips about SEO implementations, and Adae Ang emphasized the need for Personality Development.
We also have to thank our generous sponsors:
Tanduay Athletics, Hop Inn Philippines, Lazat Fil Asian Cuisine, Romulo Café, Estiara Philippines, Jyds Customized Cakes and Catering, The Thinking Cap Marketing, Jrams Coffee Bistro and Pastries, Jing Monis Salon, Social media Intelligence and Publications, Herbalife Philippines, Allianz, Gaius Pension Inn, Bravo Food Supplement for Men, and of course, Selah Garden Hotel.
