LEGO: Making Future Builders of Society at a Very Young Age

If you don't know what Lego is then you probably were not born on Earth.

Its the most creative and innovative toy ever invented that has been imitated by many already. It's the best toy to give to children to enhance their imagination and make builders, engineers, and the likes, out of them.

Lego sets (trademarked in capitals as LEGO) is a popular line of construction toys manufactured by The Lego Group, a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company's flagship product, Lego, consists of colourful interlocking plastic bricks and an accompanying array of gears, minifigures and various other parts. Lego bricks can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct such objects as vehicles, buildings, and even working robots.

Anything constructed can then be taken apart again, and the pieces used to make other objects. Lego began manufacturing interlocking toy bricks in 1949. Since then a global Lego subculture has developed, supporting movies, games, competitions, and six themed amusement parks.

Spacehips, vehicles, buildings, bridges,  robots and even entire cities can be built by a child using his or her creativity and imagination. You will be looking at the future builders of society and it best that they start young and sharpen their ingenuity with the Lego building blocks!

The LEGO Group’s story is a rather nice and simple one.

Their Founding Father, Ole Kirk Kristiansen, was a master carpenter and joiner. In 1932, he began to manufacture toys for sale in Billund, Denmark and from then on the LEGO brand was born!

The world-famous LEGO Brick didn’t make an appearance until a little later on in the 50’s. Since then, they’ve brought various toys, play experiences and teaching materials to over 130 countries.

Did you know that on average, every person on this planet owns 80 LEGO bricks? That’s a whole lotta bricks and they’re pretty happy about that! It also means that they’re the 4th largest manufacturer of play materials in the whole entire world, probably in the entire Galaxy!

You can find out even more about them on their very informative timeline at their Facebook page.
