Wazzup Pilipinas!
Nakakatawa ung mga "experts" ine-explain meaning nito. Eh understood naman at alam naman natin kung anung ibig sabihin.
I get his point though. Bb Pilipinas has been dominated by mestizas, to which does not really represent the majority of the people from where they suppose to come from. Beauty of the aspirational, instead of the common beauty, it represents.
The "promdi" comment stems from the fact that most candidates are descendants of mixed lineage - mostly Fil x West. I think we are being too literal. He meant "It's too obvious the girls do not really come from the province they represent aka imported."
I think gets ko yung pinupunto niya. Most of the candidates kasi half Pinay. One candidate na narinig ko is born or raised yata in Australia. Walang Pinay beauty talaga or born and raised sa province nila. Pangit yata pakinggan kung "mukhang probinsyana" kasi most ng kilala ko na probinsyana eh magaganda din naman.
I guess, it has also something to do also with the sentence construction or choosing of words, that earned the ire of the netizens.
Kaya when in doubt mag-Pilipino na lang.
Below are just some of the comments of netizens:
Pag Malabon ba kailangan mukhang binaha o pancit malabon?
Pag galing Pangasinan ba kailangan mukhang bangus .. or mukhang Tupig?
So kapag Ifugao mukhang Rice Terraces?
so kung galing Capiz, mukhang Aswang dapat.
Kawawa naman pag taga Bohol ka... Dapat Tarsier
Kung galing Bulacan, dapat may punto ang pagsasalita o mukhang may putok?
So if pag Cebu dapat mukhang danggit?
Pag Davao dapat mukhang Durian?
Kung Marikina dapat mukhang sapatos?

When will Philippine beauty pageants stop having mixed lineage candidates?
Sorry, but our preference for beauty has always been biased towards the mestizas, pointy-nosed, tall and long-legged, and "accentuated" which are not really the real and original Filipina qualities. Our beauty pageants should be called "Binibining Half-Breeds." Lol!
I believe no one can stop anybody from representing the Philippines especially if they do have Filipino roots. However, we would be more proud if the candidates are really living here in the Philippines, and were not just here during the pageant, and their reign, if ever they win.
