Wazzup Pilipinas!
The BGC Passionfest 2016 is just around the corner and we bet that everyone’s excited to enjoy three days filled with Filipino food, music, games, art, and culture, and no one can blame you. From becoming a simple celebration of Pinoy culture within the BGC community, it has now become a much-awaited celebration for all.
Now running on its fifth year, it is undoubtedly exciting and fun-filled. As a way to help out those joining the festivities, here’s a simple “Survival Guide” for all of those attending.
Passionfest FAQs
First things first, here’s a
little FAQs session to clear out a few things about the event.
Is
the Passionfest only for the residents of Bonifacio Global City?
No! It’s open for everyone to enjoy.
When
is it and where in BGC will it happen?
November 25 to 27, Friday to
Monday. The event will take places simultaneously in various areas around BGC
such as at Bonifacio High Street and The Mind Museum.
What
will happen at this year’s Passionfest?
A lot! Games (with prizes up
for grabs of course), music, art, food, you name it. For those attending, be
sure to wear the proper clothes and drink lots of water.
Guide
Fill
your tummies with great food
For starters, we recommend
everyone especially for the first timers to go on a food trip at the food
booths that will be scattered across BGC. A smorgasbord of food will be
provided by your favorite BGC establishments such as those from the Gourmand
Market. It will be available throughout the 3-day fiesta. PRO TIP: Try out the
Gourmand’s tapa!
Listen
to heavenly music
Just like any festival, music
is a big part of the Passionfest. As part of the festivities, telco giant Globe
will be gracing the event with its Live Christmas Symphonies program that will
feature acts such as the Mandaluyong children's chorus, Himig RoseƱa, Virlanie
Children’s Choir, and many more.
Shoot
for prizes
If photography is your thing
then why don’t you sign up for the Photolympics by Camerahaus on November 26?
The contest is where the country’s largest camera brands—Canon, Nikon, Fuji,
Pentax, and Sony—will duke it out in an old-fashioned shootout, using cameras
of course.
Participants can use any
digital point and shoot, DSLR or mirrorless camera and the themes of the photos
will be announced on the day of the competition. For more information, check
out this post from the official Facebook page of Camerahaus.
Bring
out the inner kid in you
Festivals are a great way to
relive your childhood memories, and at this year’s Passionfest, you can do just
that by joining the Wacky Obstacle Run Challenge. In partnership with the guys
that brought us Breakout Manila, the obstacle course is not just any
run-of-the-mill obstacle course as it goes through a giant inflatable ride!
Battle
of wits
Of course, the Passionfest
won’t be complete without the Quiz Night. Aside from the usual questions about
Pinoy Pop Culture, this year has another theme: Hugot Lines! So before joining, we recommend that you brush up with
your hugot lines by binge-watching
your favorite Filipino romantic films. The cheesier the film, the better!
Watch
the annual parade
Of course, no fiesta would be
complete without its parade. On November 27, 3pm, the Bayanihan Parade will
showcase the different and vibrant communities that make up the BGCitizens,
complete with beautifully decorated kalesas, live music, and
colorfully-costumed dancers.
Fill
out your Passport to get a surprise gift!
Since the holiday season is
also around the corner, the people behind the Passionfest are also in a
gift-giving mood. Those who will fill out their Passionfest Passport will be eligible
to join the raffle. To participate, just present any official ID to prove that
you’re from BGC. Visitors can join by showing receipts worth P1500 from any FBDC
merchant and you will be entitled to a passport.
And there you go! Following
the guide of course isn’t required as you can enjoy the festivities with your
own agenda. For more information about the activities and schedules of the 2016
BGC Passionfest, just check out BGC’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bonifacioglobalcityph.
