#GandangDiNapakinabangan From Kris Aquino After Duterte No-Show

“(I spent) seven months of not hosting on TV. I promised myself, babalik ako for a once in a lifetime, one-on-one interview,” Kris Aquino said. 

And that one-on-one interview was supposed to be with the President. However, Kris Aquino’s one-on-one interview with Pres. Duterte did not push through. It was supposed to be her much publicized, much anticipated one-on-one interview with the President of the republic. But as it turned out, television personality Kris Aquino was "stood up" by President.

"President Duterte doesn't know what he's missing" says Kris. Kris tried to lighten the mood after the President skipped the small and medium enterprises summit in Davao City. It was indeed an it was an epic snub which also led Kris Aquino to say "One day mamahalin mo rin ako" to the president who was said to be not feeling well that day. The president arrived before dawn on Friday in Davao City from a two-day visit to Malaysia.

The popular TV host handled the sticky situation with humor by posting a #GandangDiNapakinabangan hashtag after President Rodrigo Duterte's no-show at an event on November 11, 2016 called the "Townhall Interview with the President" at the National Micro, Small, and Medium Entrepreneurs’ (MSME) Summit 2016 organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Go Negosyo Foundation, TV-5 and state-run TV station PTV 4. 

"I apologized again that the date hindi natuloy (did not push through). I was stood up. But I assume the next time, he realized that it was fun, sisipot na siya (he will attend)." say Kris.

“Minsan, ang first date hindi natutuloy. President Duterte, pinaghandaan kita...26 na lang ang bewang ko ngayon. Sisiguraduhin ko pong magiging 25 para sa next time na pagkikita natin," she said.

She also shared that she talked to her brother on the phone after learning that Duterte won't make it to the event. She said her brother told her not to back out of the event.

"Nagtanong ako sa kuya ko kung dapat kong ituloy. Tumawag po ako at sinabi ko, Noy, I'm alone. Sabi ko sa kanya, what do I do? Sabi nya, 'You made a commitment. Nandyan ka para sa GoNegosyo, nandyan ka kasi you believe in the Philippine economy, and nandyan ka because you want everybody to be included in the growth of our economy,'" she said.

Critics are calling Duterte 'bastos' for skipping the live one-on-one interview with the former presidential sister Kris Aquino! Was a migraine really the reason why President Duterte could not make it to his one-on-one interview with Kris Aquino? He was reported attending two other events on the same day which means Kris should learn to take a hint. The President is just not in to her. Move on lang kapag may time.

"I so admire the ``snub´´ made by the President to Kris Aquino. He just showed that he is a no non-sense person. Why would he be cozy with this Aquino when he deeply knows it´s all for a show? When he knows that he is never appreciated and will never be appreciated by bleeding hearts? They never wanted him to succeed anyway. Besides, the President has nothing to do with Kris Aquino´s career and has no pretensions in life whatsoever. After all, didn´t the President say -- ALL yellow must go!

“All the way. All the way to 2022,” Kris replied when asked if she’s supporting Duterte. “If my brother is respectful enough to want to give this administration a chance to succeed, why won't I do the same?" She also called on critics to stop labeling Duterte’s avid supporters ‘Dutertards’ and to give his administration a chance to succeed before passing judgment on him. This was because she also has Josh, his first-born from former actor Philip Salvador, who a special child. “Number one, I resent calling anyone 'tards. Kasi (Because) I have a special child, so I'm sensitive to that, even if it's a term that is being used widely,” Kris explained.
