The story of Color Manila seemed like a love story. When Jay Em, President of Color Manila, stepped up on stage and told us their story, we thought we would then again turn teary-eyed after hearing him out.
But it was not as tearjerker as our teleseryes since Jay told us more about their many accomplishments which made us overwhelmingly happy for them. Not just because of their success as a company, but because they are also making a name for our country the Philippines. We were smiling more when they told us about their future collaborations in the international market like Dubai. With just five years, you'd think they are still a baby, but no, they are all grown up to compete even globally.
Fun Runs were never the same when they introduced their "color" concept in the country, and many other fun runs tried to emulate their style. But sure enough, nothing compares with the original. Watching the video presentation while waiting for the program to start gave us a positive outlook of Color Manila as they successfully captured the fun and excitement of being a part of the biggest fun run organized by fellow Filipinos.
The Color Manila media launch was held at Kerry Sports, Shangri-La the Fort on November 29, 2016. The event was hosted by Nikko Ramos and attended by the founders themselves, Jay Em and Justine Cordero - President and Vice-President of Color Manila respectively, together with International Relations Vincent Narciso, Fitness Coach and Athlete Chris Everingham, Running Coach and Color Manila Ambassador Ico Ejercito, Color Manila Events Manager Thera Reyes, and Ilocos Sur's Jose Paolo Gallardo, plus a special video presentation of Joshua Atkinson from Dubai announcing the international collaboration.

Now that Jay and Justine are putting us again in the world map as they bring out Color Manila to other countries, the Philippines would again be so very proud of our "kababayans" for giving us another recognition we would be known for - sports tourism.

Some would argue that a fun run is no sport or even a tourist attraction, but I would hate to counter those statements since it could even be the best way to attract tourists with not only the promise of having fun with colors while being healthy at the same time, but it is also an opportunity to run among like-minded individuals especially the Filipinos who are widely known for being fun people. After all, it is more fun in the Philippines not only because of our awesome destinations and culinary delicacies, but mainly because of the highly warm and hospitable people of the country.
Congratulations to Color Manila for a wonderful 5 years and good luck to them on 2017 when they hold another run on January 8. More details coming up soon as the event nears so please do read teh updates at their official social media pages and web sites.

Below is the official press release of the event:
Asia Sports Industry Awards winner for Best Mass Participation - COLOR MANILA - held a press conference at Kerry Sports, Shangri-La at the Fort, to announce its line-up of events for 2017.
COLOR MANILA, which organizes ‘concept-fun runs’, is now on its 5th year and has seen over 100,000
participants across its various marathon-concepts.
First on its line-up of events for 2017 is COLOR MANILA RUN -YEAR 5 (CMR5), which will be held on January
8, 2017, at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Grounds in Pasay City. COLOR MANILA RUN - YEAR 5, is a widely
anticipated event for most runners, who can choose between 3k, 5k, 10k and 21k runs.
“We are happy to be on our 5th year for COLOR MANILA RUN. This is our biggest annual event and we
usually like starting the year with a big bang. Some of the runners are already familiar faces who have been
participating in our events from Day 1. We are always thankful for their support and we look forward to seeing
them more in the future”, says Justin Cordero, Vice President for COLOR MANILA.
Apart from COLOR MANILA RUN - YEAR 5, several other events will be held in various provinces across the
country.
According to Mr. Jay Em, President of COLOR MANILA, “Our goal has always been to bring that same level of
excitement and fun in other parts of the Philippines. In the past, we brought our ‘concept-fun runs’ to these
key cities - Davao, Ilocos Sur, Iloilo, Cebu, Pangasinan, Bacolod, La Union and Isabela. For 2017, we are going
back to these exciting locations and we are also adding events in Boracay, Bohol, Rizal, Abra and Cagayan de
Oro.”
Mr. Em continues, “We have also partnered with the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), since it is also one way
to encourage sports tourism in the country. For some of the participants, the events become a way for them
to see the rest of the country; by joining different fun runs in different cities. For example, last October, we
had participants who joined us from the Costume Run in Alabang to Clark the next day, then capped it with
the Blacklight Run (night run) in Vigan the day after. It was a long weekend after all, and some took the time
out to have a vacation run of sorts.”
Apart from its local events, COLOR MANILA has ambitious plans to enter Dubai, United Arab Emirates and the
United States. “We were more than inspired by our win at the Asia Sports Industry Awards (SPIA), that as a
Philippine sports entity, we can compete internationally. Perhaps on our 5th year, this will be the perfect time
to enter the international market. We are indeed ready to bring that Filipino brand of fun and excitement to
other parts of the world”, says Mr. Em.
For the remainder of 2016, COLOR MANILA still has CM Black Light Run at Clark, Pampanga on December 3
and the CM Black Light Run to be held in Dagupan on December 10, 2016.
Tickets are still available at www.trackoval.net or you may visit www.colormanilarun.com or
