Wazzup Pilipinas!
Elizabeth Parker, Miss Grand International 2015 recently passed her crown to the new queen.
Hail to the new queen and her court of 2016 Miss Grand International Ariska Putri Pertiwi of Indonesia for winning the Miss Grand International 2016.
Miss Indonesia will go down in history as the very first Indonesian to have won in any major pageant.
The Miss Grand International 2016 beauty pageant grand coronation night was held at Westgate International Theater in Las Vegas on October 25, 2016.
Our very own Nicole Ignacio Cordoves of the Philippines made it to 1st Runner up while Supaporn Malisorn of Thailand is 2nd Runner up. Madison Sara Anderson of Puerto Rico is 3rd Runner up and Michelle Gabriela Leon of the USA is 4th Runner up.
1st Runner -up is actually the highest placement the Philippines has in this pageant to date. Being on the top 5 is already an accomplishment and we truly congratulate Nicole for closing in on the highest spot for Miss Grand International 2016.
The country candidates who made it to Top 10 were Korea, Indonesia,Peru,Philippines, Ukraine, USA, Macau,Bahamas,Puerto Rico, and Thailand
"Among the finalists, Nicole took risk and gave the best answer. I wonder why she didn't won the crown. While Ms. Indonesia just said that she would walk with Clinton and stop the war, but how? She didn't elaborate her answer. It's too vague. I'm happy that 3 Asian beauties are on the top 3 but it isn't fair at all. "
"Children should fight for their dreams, not their lives" says Nicole Cordoves, of which I fully believe. Whatever war we are facing right now, in each of our respective countries, we should consider that the real victims here are the next generation. The various war of all kinds of this generation reaches deep down into the inner workings of a young child that it could one way or another cause trauma and pain both physically and emotionally.
I have to agree that the candidate from the Bahamas was undeniably the Best in Swimsuit. Ms. Korea was recognized as Miss Popular which is not surprising since Koreans are truly very approachable and easy to get along.
