Duterte Says His Threat to Take the PH Out of the UN was Only a Joke

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay: "Duterte was ‘tired, disappointed, hungry’ when he threatened to take PH out of UN. We must give him leeway. He is only human."

Lately, Duterte says it was merely a joke. Lol!

Duterte supporters should be appointed as "interpreters" because they would always give positive meaning to whatever the President says. You have to give them credit for it would always be an extreme effort to find something good out of all the garbage spewing from his dirty mouth.

Supporters are implying we should read, or listen, between the lines. That what we perceive of Duterte is not what common sense dictates. That Duterte means good even though he is already making a mockery of the Philippines by quarreling with supposed to be allies like the UN.

They are trying to say they know Duterte better than most of us because they seem to know that all that barking is something else other than what is obvious.

Everyone should be aware that the UN has made significant contributions to improve our welfare especially during times of disaster or conflict, of which our local authorities failed to do so because they are focused on something else other than being proactive and capable during times of crisis.

The most laughable is when Yasay blamed media for asking Duterte questions which led him to give "crazy" answers. We should know that the real character of a person comes out when one is at his worst situation. For that matter, calling a press conference at 1 am is not even the fault of media. We all know who's fault it is. When they pointed the finger on media, what these supporters actually did was to confirm that Duterte's action were indeed highly uncalled for and irregular.

Regardless of the time of day, it is the media's job to be inquisitive and investigatory for they are not supposed to just accept the facts as they are made to appear. Media should not be limited, prevented or restrained from doing their job. Media should be given an all access pass to everything especially when it concerns the nation.

Ano raw nagawa ng UN sa Pilipinas?

I used to work for the UN, and even though there are so many politics within just like any government of every country, the UN "delivers the goods" - meaning, they really provide a lot of assistance.

For those who question where the aid and assistance went, it's usually the government (both local and national) that somehow mediates thus there were several cases of hoarding or repackaging the aid or assistance to make it look like they came from the government.

Such as when we tried to distribute sacks of rice, the LGU stopped us and instead repacked them into a few kilos of rice and then labeled the packages with their respective logos. The government would always keep a greater portion for themselves.

The problem was never with the UN. It was with the government. We could not directly give the donations to the victims or survivors since we are required to coordinate with the government, otherwise you will be branded as disrespectful and not following protocols.

Duterte die-hard supporters will never understand. It is pointless to explain to them reasonable facts even if they are visibly right in front of their faces.
