The Claritin Allergy 101 event re-introduces 7-month pregnant Filipino celebrity Iya Villania, who's soon to be a mother to a baby boy, as brand ambassador.

During the event, they had a guest doctor who gave us an overview about allergies and its different kinds. She also answered inquiries from the attendees, and my question about tests or procedures we could take if we want want to know in advance what are we allergic to.
Emmanuel Cruz, Brand Manager of Claritin, informed us that there are OTC tests that are available only in the US. This makes me wonder why we couldn't bring that product in the country so we can be well-prepared to counter items we are allergic to. As always, being proactive is better than always relying on the cure.
It is always a pleasure to never worry about being allergic to anything so we can continue to do everything we love, and yes, even share our home with pets without worrying of symptoms that may impede our productivity.
There were also several plants and flowers at the venue, which are probable sources of allergies, but luckily no one seem to have any reaction to them. The same plants were also given away as tokens of the event aside from the Claritin tablets. Everyone went home with additional plants for our gardens back home.
When I was younger, I used to be allergic to shell fish, namely the small shrimps that are used to cook "okoy" or Crispy Shrimp Fritters which were great when dipped in spiced vinegar and eaten with rice. It's a good thing my immune system got better when I got older. But the evnet did tell us that outgrowing the allergy was a myth, among others we thought were true like exposing ourselves to the source to become more immune is somewhat dangerous and may cause complications or even death if abused or misused.
