Wazzup Pilipinas!
Kudos to Sony Channel for coming up with a very innovative event to promote their upcoming TV show featuring Dennis Quaid and Kate Bosworth, among many other stars of the show which premiered that night, May 24 at 8:50 pm Philippine time.
After a delightfully elegant five-course meal highlighted by superb wines, the crowd was ushered in to another room within Salcedo Auctions to introduce us to the world of auctions. Though I've seen how it works at other movies and TV shows, the feeling of being part of an actual auction was invigorating, but it makes you want to wish you had more money to spend.
It also introduced us to the power of collaboration as some attendees formed together to combine their money just to be able to outbid the other bidders. If I knew there would only be 10 items for auction, I would have negotiated with my seatmates at the very beginning. But I waited for a better item that would be useful for me as a blogger. Unfortunately, it was only kater that we were told there would only be 10 items for auction.
Well, that's OK since I did enjoy having to anticipate the chance of winning some items which involved surprise or undisclosed items from Sony Channel.
Yummy elegant 5-course fine dining meal by Bizu catering. There were small bottle of wines in every table so we got to bring home one of them on our way out. But the real winner is the superb meal that was served to us.
Kate Bosworth aka Roxanna Whitman, with her beautiful back, in The Art of More TV show which premiered on may 24 at 8:50 pm at Sony Channel.
Soothing music from live performers on stage while we dine on our fabulous meals.
The auction we did at Salcedo Auctions was merely a play of the real thing since we only used play money that was given to us in advance before the start of the event. It would have been great if we were given the actual cash but I have to congratulate the winning bidders for going home with great items including an artwork done on the spot by one of the two artists who showed their talents live to our entertainment. One of the artists presented for auction an artwork with an image of a "Bahay Kubo" at a barrio setting, and it looked really great. I would have bidded for that if I had a bigger space in our "condo." Lol!
Overall, we also send our congratulations to Sony Channel for coming up with such an elegant and interesting promotional event for the Art of More TV show.
Female DJs always livens up the mood with their well modulated voices and charming personalities everytime they host an event.
The auctioneer. if that the correct term, knows very well how to make the crowd go crazy over an item, even if it's undisclosed or kept a surprise. I hope someday I could actually spend a lot of money doing these kind of activities.
Talented artists were also showcased on the event. It makes you even prouder to be a Filipino seeing people do such artworks.
I think my number 6 was not so lucky since I was not able to bring home anything. Lol!
I would have loved this sort of treasure chest, but there's no room in our house for a bulky and heavy item like this since we live all the way at the 9th floor with no elevator in the building...hahaha. I would have to suffer agreat deal before I can bring this home. So sorry na lang po. Lol!
Below is the official press release:
"The Art of More," an original Sony production premiered on May 24, 2016 at 8:50 pm on Sony Channel. The drama explores the foible and surprisingly ruthless world of premium auction houses, filled with smugglers, hustlers, power mongers and collectors of the beautiful and the bizarre. It follows a blue-collar young man, Graham Connor (Christian Cooke), who leverages his way into this exclusive existence by utilizing his connections to the antiquities black market he was exposed to as a soldier in Iraq.
Dennis Quaid, also as the executive producer, stars as the charismatic real estate shark Samuel Brukner who has a penchant for ill-gotten art. Brukner is the life of the party, but when it comes to his money, he can be ruthless, shrewd and corrupt. Kate Bosworth plays Roxanna Whitney, daughter of the CEO of one of the two warring auction houses — and a leading account executive. Although she was born into this exclusive world and thrives in it, she is riddled with insecurities that drive her to be a formidable executive in her own right.
Whether a buyer, seller or something in between, everyone in "The Art of More" is chasing something they covet and struggling with the extent they will go when unchecked by morality.
Sony's firstone-hour scripted drama series The Art Of More premieres May 24, Tuesday at 8.50pm, first and exclusively on Sony Channel.
Sony Channel is seen on SKYCable Channel 35, Cignal Digital TV Channel 60, Destiny Cable Channel 62, Cable Link Channel 39.
