Wazzup Pilipinas!
Music is a language. It is a way of communicating, and ultimately, it has become an anti-depression, a way for broken people to express, a way to heal, and gigs have become a venue to escape from reality. Two of the new aspiring local bands in the Philippines, Indio and Cielo, have conspired together with Tambayan Productions to launch their songs. This EP Launch will be held on June 11, 2016 7PM at 888 Vibers, Pasay City.
Indio is an alternative-rock band formed in November 2015 whose songs tell about the consequences of dreaming. One is, Habagat Amihan, a folk rock song about fate, desires ultimately turning to a hurricane that leads to shattering. Two: Sino Ka, about not knowing yourself anymore. And three, Alexis, the believing and doubting of the self's ability to succeed. They believe that songs are stories, real ones, and should convey something that can cause a revolution. The young band currently consists of lead vocalist Jen Darlene Torres, bassist Alfredo Tan, drummer NiƱo Miguel Abesamis, and guitarists Ryan Alexis Abesamis and Al Bryan Zabala. They dream to rock the world with hope.
While, Cielo is a Filipino rock band who also began in November 2015. They started playing cover songs of rock bands such as The Beatles and Queen and later on transitioned to make their own music at the beginning of 2016. Their first song was “Secret Lies”, followed by “Cielo, Paalam”. Cielo is inspired by the musical instrument cello, when their former guitarist mispronounced the word. That's when the band decided to adapt the name “Cielo”, a feminine name in contrast to an all-male band. Cielo's members include Gines Matthew Alvar (vocalist), John Ryan Casimiro (bassist), Mark Jonnel Icalla and Jonas Mahinay (guitarists).
INDIO x CIELO EP Launch will also feature some awesome local bands such as STLO, Kaylo, Calebral, Keilim, Wasted Chemical, Punk Magalona, Llezera, Stories and Alibis, The Lucky Ones, and Letter “O”. Everybody is welcome to join the gig. For inquiries, contact Nej 09777673560.
